Abstract
Un método para cambiar la posición de escritura en máquinas de escribir, caracterizado por el hecho de que, para todas las operaciones que impliquen un movimiento del carro a la derecha, la posición actual o en curso del carro se almacena simultáneamente en un registro de escape y en un registro de recolocación; de que, al producirse un movimiento del carro hacia la izquierda, antes de terminarse un renglón de escritura, se actualiza el valor que entonces haya en el registro de escape, en tanto que el valor que entonces haya en el registro de recolocación se mantiene sin cambio; y de que la diferencia de los dos valores se introduce en un contador de escape que se está reduciendo por decrementos, o paso a paso, mediante un impulsos derivados del movimiento del carro, y que controla el escape del carro hasta que dicho contador llega a cero, de tal modo que el valor contenido en el registro de reposición se usa como posición de un tope de tabulador temporáneo, posición a la cual se va en unatabulación iniciada por el operador, con lo cual el registro de escape y el registro de recolocación vuelven a contener un valor característico de la posición en curso del carro.
