Abstract

Mejoras introducidas en un método de depositar una capa absorbente de gas sobre superficies internas de un tubo de imagen de televisión; cuyo tubo comprende una envuelta que incluye una parte de ventana, una parte de cono y una parte de cuello, un sistema de electrodos montado en dicha parte de cuello para generar al menos un haz de electrones, y una capa de material de alta resistencia eléctrica dispuesta sobre al menos la superficie interior de la parte de transición entre la parte de cono y la parte de cuello de la envuelta, caracterizadas porque el método comprende las operaciones de colocar dentro de la envuelta del tubo, en un lugar alejado de dicha parte de transición, un dispositivo de adsorción que comprende una mezcla de pulvimetales de níquel y de una aleación de bario y aluminio comprimida en un retenedor metálico, en donde la mezcla consiste en una proporción del 40% al 60% en peso de pulvimetal de níquel que tiene una superficie específica menor que 0,15 m2 por gramo y un tamaño de grano medio menor que 80 micras, teniendo el pulvimetal de bario y aluminio un tamaño de grano medio menor que 125 micras; hacer el vacío en el tubo; y evaporar el bario desde dicho dispositivo de adsorción por calentamiento.
