Abstract
851,505. Cathode-ray tubes ; electroluminescence. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. Feb. 5, 1959 [Feb. 6, 1958], No. 3944/58. Addition to 811,724. Class 39(1). In a cathode-ray tube of the kind described in the parent Specification a layer 14 of insulating material is included be-- tween the voltage-enhanced cathode-luminescent screen 7 and at least one of the conducting layers 6, 8. Preferably the insulating layer 14 is of lead-glass solder approximately 5Á thick but may be of aluminium or titanium oxide. The insulating layer 14 may be extended to protect the lead 10, 12 to the conducting layer 6 from electrical contact by the other layer 8.
