Abstract

Lawn shears comprise a fixed blade 10 connected to a fixed handle 12, a movable blade 16 which is pivotally connected via, a bifurcated hinge memer 20 to a movable handle 14, the blade 16 being movable away from the blade 10 by moving the handle 14 towards the handle 12 against the action of a spring 24, such movement causing the axis of the pivot pin 19 of the blade 16 to move across the blade 10, and the hinge member 20 is provided with a pin 8 slidable in an elongate hole 9 in the blade 10 to ensure that the member 20 is guided in the direction of movement of the pivot axis of the blade 16. A pin 31 secured to the blade 10 serves as a stop for the blade 16.
