Abstract

[Also in Group XXIX] A device for crushing aggregates comprises means for moving the aggregates along a predetermined path, a stationary surface on one side of the path and means for intermittently applying a sideways directed hydraulioallyoperated and controlled crushing force on the aggregates from the other side of said path to crush the aggregates between said force and stationary surface. As shown a mining conveyer 1 has combined therewith preferably at its delivery end an hydraulically-operated jaw 2a pivotally mounted at 3 and associated with a jaw 2 which is preferably rigidly mounted on the conveyer. The jaw 2a is pivoted at 4 to the piston-rod 5 of an hydraulic cylinder 6 which is coupled to a motor-driven pump 8 by means of supply and return lines 10, 11, respectively. The piston 5a of the cylinder 6 is reversed by means of a rod 14 pivotally connected to the jaw 2a and associated with a cylinder 12 in which is movable a slide 12a provided with pistons 12b, 12c, the slide in its end positions connecting the lines 10, 11 to one or the other side of the cylinder 6. The slide 12a is movable abruptly from one to the other of its end positions by means of adjustable stops 14a, 14b on the rod 14 engaging a rockable arm 22a of a spring-influenced arresting lever 22, the arm 22a engaging in an aperture 26 of a frame 27 coupled to the slide 12a. An automatic overload safety device comprises a spring-pressed piston 16a movable in a cylinder 16 connected to the side of the cylinder 6 effecting the breaking stroke, the piston-rod 18 being connected to a pivotally-mounted lever 20 the free end 20a of which, in the event of overload, acts on the frame 27 to move the slide 12a abruptly into its other end position to reverse the piston 5a. A manually-operable hand lever may be provided, in addition to the lever 20, in the path of movement of the slide 12a or of the frame 27 so that the breaking-stroke can be interrupted at any time.
