Abstract
Una formulación, utilizada en el método para la fabricación de lentes que son flexibles, económicas, hidrofóbicas, que tienen un alto valor de índice reactivo con función de bloqueo UV y superficies lisas adecuadas para lentes de uso intraocular mediante fotopolimerización, caracterizada porque la formulación comprende - entre 20 y 80 por ciento en peso de oligómero a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como aglutinante; - entre 5 y 40 por ciento en peso de monómero a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como diluyente reactivo; - entre 1 y 5 por ciento en peso de bloqueador UV a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como bloqueador UV y - entre 0,1 y 5 por ciento en peso de fotoiniciador para iniciar el proceso de fotopolimerización.

DESCRIPCIÓN
Proceso de formulación y fabricación de lentes para la
producción de lentes intraoculares (LIO)
Campo Técnico de la Invención
Esta invención se refiere a una formulación y al proceso de fabricación de lentes en las áreas de medicina, oftalmología, cataratas y cirugía de cataratas para la fabricación principalmente de lentes intraoculares (LIO) que son flexibles, biocompatibles y tienen una larga vida útil.
Antecedentes de la Invención
Las lentes intraoculares naturales en el ojo humano pierden su visión debido al problema de acumulación en la superficie de las lentes o al daño de las lentes por el envejecimiento y/o enfermedades. Hoy, el problema de acumulación en lentes naturales ha sido reemplazado con las nuevas lentes sintéticas por una operación conocida como cirugía de cataratas. La lente natural del ojo humano se reemplazó por primera vez en 1949 con lentes poliméricas duras a base metacrilato de metilo. En general, se utilizan diferentes lentes de acrilato para este objetivo.
En los últimos años, los cirujanos prefieren usar lentes con alto índice reactivo, biocompatibles, lentes intraoculares plegables que brindan facilidad en la cirugía microincisional.
La tecnología de fabricación de lentes intraoculares generalmente se basa en un método de polimerización térmica que utiliza un molde y lo transforma en la lente mediante una máquina de torneado acoplada con tecnología láser. Sin embargo, este método es costoso y tiene problemas de estabilidad dimensional debido al método de fabricación utilizado. Además, se pueden encontrar fracturas invisibles en la superficie de la lente que
causan los llamados problemas brillantes debido al uso de procesos de torneado.
Otro método para la fabricación de lentes intraoculares es el proceso de fotopolimerización, un método ecológico que permite el ahorro de energía. Dicho método es apropiado en términos de costes de fabricación. En el documento de patente anterior de los Estados Unidos no US6201036 se menciona que la fabricación de lentes intraoculares se obtiene mediante el uso del método de fotopolimerización.
En los últimos años, se determinó que la luz azul (400-500 nm) representa un peligro potencial para la retina. En el documento de patente de los Estados Unidos no US6353069 se mencionó la fabricación de lentes con alto índice de refracción utilizando dos o más copolímeros que contienen acrilato y/o metacrilato en su estructura aromática. En el documento de patente de los Estados Unidos no US5470932 se mencionó la adición de pintura amarilla en la formulación. Sin embargo, dicho aporte no reactivo como el acrilato provoca problemas de difusión que provocan una reducción de la actividad del ingrediente con el tiempo.
El proceso de bloqueo de radiación ultravioleta (UV) como se menciona en la Patente Japonesa no JP10282302 y la Patente Europea no EP1785747 y WO97/27223 también se puede obtener por recubrimiento superficial de las lentes. Sin embargo, los resultados deseados no se pueden obtener en el caso de recubrimientos no homogéneos. Las lentes con función de no bloqueo en el rango de 300-430 nm pueden causar una segunda formación de cataratas y provocar resultados negativos de las pruebas de biocompatibilidad, una indicación del uso a largo plazo de las lentes.
La lente amarilla "The AcrySof Natural Lens SN60AT" fabricada por la empresa ALCON tiene una función de bloqueo de UV en los valores de tansmitancia espectral de 400 a 475 nm. Se creyó y se
observó durante las operaciones de trasplante de ojo que, especialmente después de los 54 años, la lente natural está amarillando para reducir el daño de la luz en los 400-475 nm en la retina. El cuerpo se ajusta naturalmente para proteger el daño de la luz en esta longitud de onda. Los investigadores que trabajan en cirugía de cataratas creían que esta propiedad también debería llevarse a las lentes sintéticas para los pacientes de 54 años o más. La empresa ALCON utilizó ingredientes que pueden absorber la luz azul y "AcrySof Natural” obtuvó una forma comercial en el mercado. Para minimizar la difusión del ingrediente absorbente de luz azul desde la lente, ALCON agregó grupos acrilicos al ingrediente absorbente de luz azul como se menciona en las patentes de los Estados Unidos numeradas US5470932, US7803359 y US20100113641. Todas las lentes mencionadas anteriormente se obtuvieron por moldeo térmico y torneado acoplado con láser.
La patente de los Estados Unidos no US20120232648 mencionó que las lentes con una lente intraocular de polímero de memoria de forma (SMP) pueden tener un indice de refracción superior a 1,45, una Tg entre 10° C y 60° C, inclusivo, de minimis o ausencia de brillo, y sustancialmente 100% de transmisividad de luz en el espectro visible. La lente intraocular se enrolla a una temperatura superior a Tg del material SMP. El dispositivo intraocular se comprime radialmente dentro de un molde a un diámetro menor o igual a 1,8 mm mientras se mantiene la temperatura por encima de Tg. El dispositivo de lente intraocular comprimido puede insertarse a través de una incisión de menos de 2 mm de ancho en una córnea o esclera u otra estructura anatómica. La lente se puede insertar en la bolsa capsular, el surco ciliar u otra cavidad a través de la incisión. El SMP puede alcanzar sustancialmente a valores de indice de refracción mayores o iguales a 1,45.
En el documento de patente de los Estados Unidos no US20130107201 se describe un dispositivo oftálmico multifocal, en el que el cuerpo de la lente comprende un compuesto curcuminoide como un estabilizador de luz UV y/o una composición copolimérica que se extrae de la mezcla de prepolimerización del cuerpo de lente monomérico definido del dispositivo oftálmico multifocal. Con una pluralidad de zonas anulares concéntricas, que efectúan tanto la difracción como la refracción de la luz incidente, y que están separadas por pasos inclinados que están sustancialmente desprovistos de cualquier poder difractivo o refractivo.
Breve Descripción de la Invención
Esta invención se refiere a una formulación y al proceso de fabricación de lentes en las áreas de medicina, oftalmología, cataratas y cirugía de cataratas para la fabricación principalmente de lentes intraoculares (LIO) que son flexibles, biocompatibles y tienen una larga vida útil.
Otro objeto de la invención es realizar una formulación y un proceso de fabricación de lentes intraoculares que proporcionen una lente intraocular con propiedad de bloqueo de UV utilizando una formulación que contiene grupos funcionales reactivos que pueden reaccionar en la región de luz UV de 300 - 475 nm
Otro objeto de la invención es producir lentes utilizando métodos térmicos y/o fotopolimerización(UV/LED Ultravioleta/Dispositivo Emisor de Luz o UV/LED) y/o uso combinado de ambos métodos.
Otro objeto de la invención es proporcionar una formulación de lente intraocular y un método de fabricación para obtener lentes intraoculares con alto índice de refracción.
Otro objeto de la invención es proporcionar una formulación de lente intraocular y un método de fabricación para una lente intraocular hidrofóbica.
Otro objeto de la invención es proporcionar una formulación de lente intraocular y un método de fabricación mediante el uso del proceso de fotopolimerización.
Otro objeto de la invención es proporcionar una formulación de lente intraocular y un método de fabricación dependiendo de los aportes y sus proporciones para obtener dos tipos diferentes de lentes con colores blanco o amarillo.
Descripción Detallada de la Invención
Esta invención se refiere a una formulación y al proceso de fabricación de lentes que utiliza fotopolimerización que proporciona lentes con propiedades de bloqueo de UV y superficie lisa, flexible, alto índice de refracción, económico, hidrofóbico y sin problemas brillantes como resultado de aplicaciones de torneado.
La formulación según la presente invención comprende;
entre 20 y 80 por ciento en peso de oligómeros a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato utilizados como aglutinantes en la formulación,
entre 5 y 40 por ciento en peso de monómeros a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato utilizados como diluyentes reactivos,
entre 1 y 5 por ciento en peso de bloqueadores UV a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato utilizados como bloqueadores UV
y entre 0,1 y 5 por ciento en peso de fotoiniciador, utilizado para iniciar el proceso de fotopolimerización.
El oligómero usado en la formulación de acuerdo con la invención es entre 20% a 80% y tiene estructura a base de acrilato de uretano y/o metacrilato de uretano.
El monómero reactivo a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato monofuncional en la formulación está en el rango de 5% a 40% en peso y puede usarse en diferentes estructuras como; ácido
metacrilico, metacrilato de metilcarbitol, metacrilato de fenoxietilo, metacrilato de octilo, metacrilato de metilo, metacrilato de hidroxietilo, metacrilato de etoxietilo, dimetacrilato de etilenglicol, N-vinilpirrolidona, metacrilato de alilo, N, N dimetacril, metacrilato de glicerilo y dimetacrilato de tetraetilenglicol.
El bloqueador UV en la formulación es del 1% al 5% en peso de la formulación. Bloqueadores UV en la materialización preferida de la invención son como 2- (4-Benzoil-3-hidroxifenox) acrilato de etilo), 4-Metacrilox-2-hidroxibenzofenona) o se utiliza 2- (2'-hidroxi-5’-metakriloxietilfenil) -2H- benzotriazol, cumarina o sustancias en la estructura de éter poliarileno.
La formulación de la presente invención tiene fotoiniciador para iniciar la fotopolimerización. La relación del fotoiniciador en la formulación es de 0.1% a 5% en peso y puede usarse en diferentes estructuras como; 2,4,6-trimetilbenzoildifenilfosfoxido (2-bencil-2-N-dimetilamino-1-(4-morfolinopropan-l), (hidroxiciclohexil) fenil cetona, 2-bencil-2-N dimetilamino-1- (4 -morfolinopenil) -1-butanona, benceno, dimetil cetal, isopropil benzoína cetal, 2-n-propoxi-9H-9-tioxantenos y etilo 4 - (dimetilamino) benzoato.
Las lentes intraoculares obtenidas mediante el uso de la formulación de la invención dan lentes flexibles e hidrofóbicas una estructura polimérica. El índice de refracción de dicha lente es mayor o igual a 1,5. Las lentes de una sola pieza (monobloque) se producen de manera económica sin problemas de difusión con el método de fotopolimerización.
Esta invención se refiere a una formulación y al proceso de fabricación de lentes que utiliza fotopolimerización que proporciona lentes con propiedades de bloqueo de UV y superficie lisa, flexible, alto índice de refracción, económico, hidrofóbico y sin problemas brillantes como resultado de
aplicaciones de torneado. Todas las lentes mencionadas anteriormente se obtuvieron por moldeo térmico y torneado acoplado con láser.
El método comprende los pasos de:
Preparación de la formulación,
Colocación de la formulación en el molde,
Curado de la formulación por método de fotopolimerización, Retirada de la formulación curada del molde,
Extracción con alcohol isopropílico y realización de esterilización a las formulaciones desmoldadas.
En el método de acuerdo con la presente invención; se prepara una formulación utilizando entre 20 y 80 por ciento en peso de oligómeros a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como aglutinantes; entre 5 y 40 por ciento en peso de monómeros a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como diluyentes reactivos; entre 0.1 y 5 por ciento en peso de fotoiniciador para iniciar el proceso de fotopolimerización y entre 1 y 5 por ciento en peso de bloqueadores UV a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como bloqueadores UV.
Esta formulación se transfiere preferiblemente a un molde de cuarzo. La formulación contenida en el molde se cura por el método de fotopolimerización. En una realización preferida de la invención para el proceso de fotopolimerización, se utilizaron las fuentes de luz como ultravioleta, LED o ambas ultravioleta con LED. La formulación (lente) se retiró de la matriz después de la operación de curado, se extrajo en alcohol isopropílico. Finalmente, el producto se desinfecta sometiéndolo a esterilización.
Las lentes intraoculares obtenidas en esta invención tienen estructuras poliméricas con propiedades flexibles e hidrófobicas. El índice de refracción de dicha lente es mayor o
igual a 1,5. Las lentes de una sola pieza (monobloque) se producen de manera económica sin problemas de difusión con el método de fotopolimerización.
Claims (11)
1) Una formulación, utilizada en el método para la fabricación de lentes que son flexibles, económicas, hidrofóbicas, que tienen un alto valor de índice reactivo con función de bloqueo UV y superficies lisas adecuadas para lentes de uso intraocular mediante fotopolimerización, caracterizada porque la formulación comprende
- entre 20 y 80 por ciento en peso de oligómero a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como aglutinante;
- entre 5 y 40 por ciento en peso de monómero a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como diluyente reactivo;
- entre 1 y 5 por ciento en peso de bloqueador UV a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como bloqueador UV y
- entre 0,1 y 5 por ciento en peso de fotoiniciador para iniciar el proceso de fotopolimerización.
2) Una formulación según la reivindicación 1 caracterizada porque el oligómero usado en la formulación es un oligómero a base de acrilato de uretano.
3) Una formulación según la reivindicación 1 caracterizada porque el oligómero usado en la formulación es un oligómero a base de metacrilato de uretano.
4) Una formulación según la reivindicación 1 caracterizada porque el monómero usado en la formulación es un monómero a base de acrilato monofuncional.
5) Una formulación según la reivindicación 1 caracterizada porque el monómero usado en la formulación es un monómero a base de metacrilato.
6) Una formulación según la reivindicación 1 caracterizada porque el monómero utilizado como diluyente reactivo puede seleccionarse del grupo que comprende; ácido metacrílico, metacrilato de metilcarbitol, metacrilato de fenoxietilo, metacrilato de octilo, metacrilato de metilo, metacrilato de hidroxietilo, metacrilato de etoxietilo, dimetacrilato
de etilenglicol, N-vinilpirrolidona, metacrilato de alilo, N, N dimetacril, metacrilato de glicerilo y dimetacrilato de tetraetilenglicol.
7) Una formulación según la reivindicación 1 caracterizada porque el fotoiniciador puede seleccionarse del grupo que comprende; 2,4,6- trimetilbenzoildifenilfosfoxido (2-bencil-2-N-dimetilamino-1- (4-morfolinopropan-l), (hidroxiciclohexil) fenil cetona, 2-bencil-2-N dimetilamino-1- (4 -morfolinopenil) -1-butanona, benceno, dimetil cetal, isopropil benzoína cetal, 2-n-propoxi-9H-9-tioxantenos y etilo 4 - (dimetilamino) benzoato.
8) Una formulación según la reivindicación 1 caracterizada porque el bloqueador UV puede seleccionarse del grupo que comprende; 2- (4-Benzoil-3-hidroxifenox) acrilato de etilo), 4-Metacrilox-2-hidroxibenzofenona) o se utiliza 2-(2’-hidroxi-5’-metakriloxietilfenil) -2H- benzotriazol, cumarina o sustancias en la estructura de éter poliarileno.
9) Un método para la fabricación de lentes que son flexibles, económicas, hidrofóbicas, que tienen un alto valor de índice de refracción con función de bloqueo UV y superficies lisas adecuadas para lentes de uso intraocular mediante fotopolimerización, caracterizado porque el método comprende los siguientes pasos;
- Preparación de la formulación,
- Colocación de la formulación en el molde,
- Curado de la formulación mediante fotopolimerización, - Retirada de la formulación curada del molde,
- Extracción con alcohol isopropílico y realización de esterilización a las formulaciones desmoldadas. caracterizado porque la formulación se prepara utilizando entre 20 y 80 por ciento en peso de oligómero(s) a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como aglutinantes; entre 5 y 40 por ciento en peso de monómeros a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como diluyentes reactivos; entre 1 y 5 por
ciento en peso de bloqueador UV a base de acrilato y/o metacrilato como ingrediente de absorción UV.
10) Un método según la reivindicación 9 caracterizado porque la formulación se transfiere preferiblemente a un molde de cuarzo.
11) Un método según la reivindicación 9 caracterizado porque una forma en que el LED y / o el LED ultravioleta o ambos se utilizan en el paso de curado de la formulación mediante el método de fotopolimerización.
