Elemento decorativo (2), donde el elemento decorativo (2) presenta un microestructura (4) que por luz incidente y/o por luz transmitida genera un efecto óptico, donde la microestructura (4), en una primera área (31, 32), presenta una superficie base (40) y varios elementos base (41), los cuales respectivamente presentan una superficie de elemento (411) elevada o rebajada con respecto a la superficie base (40), y un flanco (140) dispuesto entre la superficie del elemento (411) y la superficie base (40), donde la superficie base (40) de la microestructura define un plano base extendido a través de ejes de coordenadas x e y, donde las superficies de elemento (411) de los elementos base (41) respectivamente se extienden esencialmente de forma paralela con respecto al plano base, y donde en al menos una o varias primeras zonas (333, 351) de la primera área (31, 32), las superficies de elemento (411) de los elementos base (41) y la superficie base (40) están distanciadas en una dirección que se extiende perpendicularmente con respecto al plano base, en la dirección de un eje de coordenadas Z, con una primera distancia (61), la cual está seleccionada de modo que, en particular a través de interferencia de la luz reflectada en la superficie base y en las superficies de elemento, por luz incidente y/o en particular a través de interferencia de la luz transmitida a través de las superficies de elemento y las superficies base, por luz transmitida, se genera un primer color en una o en varias primeras zonas (333, 351), donde la microestructura está configurada de modo que la misma genera el primer color en el primer orden de difracción o en la luz dispersa, y donde la ocupación media de la superficie del plano base con los elementos base (41) en la primera área se ubica entre 30 % y 70 %, preferentemente entre 40 % y 60 %, y de modo aún más preferente aproximadamente en 50 %, caracterizado porque en la primera área (31, 32) los elementos base (41) se suceden unos a otros periódicamente.
