Abstract
Procedimiento para la descontaminación de una superficie de un componente o elemento de construcción a base de acero no aleado o bien hipoaleado o débilmente aleado, que se pone en contacto con una solución que contiene ácido oxálico y disuelve una capa contaminada del elemento metálico principal de dicho componente, que se caracteriza por que la solución también contiene iones de hierro divalente y como consecuencia de ello forma inmediatamente una capa protectora sobre las partes de la superficie del elemento metálico principal que acaban de exponerse, de manera que el oxalato férrico se transforma en oxalato ferroso y dióxido de carbono por irradiación con luz UV, y que después de finalizar la disolución de la capa contaminada la capa protectora se elimina de nuevo disminuyendo el nivel de iones de hierro divalente en la solución, y que los iones de hierro divalente que ya no se necesitan y la sustancia que ha causado la contaminación se aglutinan en una resina de intercambio iónico.
