Abstract

Un método y aparato para detectar, medir y monitorear películas formadas sobre superficies expuestas de un sistema fluido provocado por microorganismospresentes en el sistema fluido. De acuerdo con la presente invencion, se utiliza un fluorometro para irradiar a una superficie expuesta con luz de una magnitude intensidad apropiada lo cual resulta en una excitacion de NAD(P)H y ATP, y otras moléculas fluorescentes contenidas dentro de los microorganismos y lasubsecuente emision fluorescente de los microorganismos. Como resultado, se pueden detectar y monitorear películas provocadas por la presencia demicroorganismos en el sistema fluido.
