Abstract

Procedimiento para la obtención de 1,6-hexanodiol mediante hidrogenación de ésteres de ácido adípico y/o ésteres de ácido 6-hidroxicaproico en fase gaseosas, a alta temperatura y alta presión, en presencia de catalizadores exentos de cromo, caracterizado porque la hidrogenación se lleva a cabo a) con utilización de catalizadores que comprenden como componentes esenciales cobre, manganeso y aluminio, o en presencia de cobre Raney, b) a temperaturas de 150 hasta 230 C y presiones de 10 hasta 70 bar, c) con una proporción molar de hidrógeno con respecto a éster a hidrogenar de 150 a 1 hasta 300 a 1, y d) con una carga del catalizador de 0,01 hasta 0,3 kg de éster con 6 átomos de carbono por litro de catalizador y hora.
