Abstract
Un método para producir gas de síntesis (esencialmente una mezcla de hidrógeno y monóxido de carbono) a partir de una mezcla de metano y oxígeno quecomprende la oxidación parcial del metano poniendo en contacto la mezcla de gasesreacciona ntes a temperatura relativamente baja (100°C a 950°C) y a unapresión de hasta 150 bar con un catalizador basado en: compuesto de Feitknecht níquel/aluminio/mineral arcilloso alúminosilicato. El gas desíntesis resultante puedeser mezclado con oxígeno adicional y posteriormente ser parcialmente oxidado sin ser sometido a una etapa de compresiónintermedia para producir un segundo gas de síntesis apropiado para su uso directo en un proceso a alta presión posteriordel cual resul ta un productoquímico, tal como metanol. También se pueden producir otros productos químicos utilizando como gas de alimentación el gas de síntesis producido porel proceso. Tambien se refiere al gas de síntesis obtenido porel proceso.
