SE EMPLEA UN METODO Y APARATO PARA REDUCIR EL DIOXIDO SULFUROSO PRODUCIDO POR LA COMBUSTION DE UN COMBUSTIBLE CON CONTENIDO SULFUROSO EN UNA CAMARA DE COMBUSTION. SE INTRODUCE PARTE DEL AIRE DE COMBUSTION EN LA CAMARA CON Y ADYACENTE AL COMBUSTIBLE. OTRA PARTE DE DICHO AIRE SE INTRODUCE EN LA CAMARA DE COMBUSTION POR ENCIMA Y CORRIENTE ABAJO DEL COMBUSTIBLE Y RELATIVAMENTE LEJOS DEL MISMO BAJO AQUELLAS CONDICIONES EN LA QUE AMORTIGUE LA TEMPERATURA DEL FRENTE DE LLAMAS Y REDUZCA LA TEMPERATURA MAXIMA DE LA LLAMA. SE ASPIRARAN PARTICULAS DE PIEDRA CALIZA FINAMENTE DIVIDIDAS O SIMILARES EN LA CAMARA DE COMBUSTION POR EL AIRE INTRODUCIDO POR ENCIMA DEL COMBUSTIBLE Y DISTRIBUIDO ALLI A TRAVES DE LOS GASES QUE FLUYEN CORRIENTE ABAJO A TRAVES DE LA CAMARA DE COMBUSTION, DONDE SE CALCINAN DICHAS PARTICULAS HASTA CONVERTIRSE EN PARTICULAS CALIZAS QUE REACCIONAN CON EL DIOXIDO SULFUROSO EN LOS GASES DE REACCION DE COMBUSTION PARA PRODUCIR SULFATO DE CALCIO. NO EXISTE UNA MEZCLA PREVIA DE LAS PARTICULAS Y DEL AIRE ASPIRADO ANTES DE QUE ENTREN EN LA CAMARA DE COMBUSTION. SE CONTROLAN VARIOS PARAMETROS PARA PRODUCIR LOS RESULTADOS DESEADOS.
