Description
- Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Tabakverpackung, welche ein Cellulosesubstrat oder ein cellulosehaltiges Substrat aufweist.
- Tabakverpackungen wie beispielsweise Zigarettenschachteln, Innenlagenpapiere von Zigarettenschachteln (so genannte "inner bundling" oder "inner liner") oder Beutel für Tabakprodukte sind in unterschiedlichen Ausgestaltungsformen bekannt und basieren häufig auf Cellulosesubstraten wie Papier, Karton oder Pappe.
- Als nachteilig an den bekannten Tabakverpackungen ist ihre Feuchtigkeitsdurchlässigkeit anzusehen.
- Es ist daher Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung, eine Tabakverpackung auf Cellulosebasis bereitzustellen, welche eine verbesserte Feuchtigkeitsdurchlässigkeit aufweist.
- Die Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß durch eine Tabakverpackung mit den Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 gelöst. Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen sind in den abhängigen Ansprüchen beschrieben.
- Bei einer erfindungsgemäßen Tabakverpackung ist es vorgesehen, dass das Cellulosesubstrat zumindest bereichsweise mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht beschichtet ist, wobei die wasserabweisende Schicht einen polymeren Chrom(III)-Komplex mit wenigstens einem organischen Liganden umfasst. Die Schicht weist dadurch eine wasser- bzw. feuchtigkeitsabweisende Wirkung auf. Das Eindringen von Feuchtigkeit in das Cellulosesubstrat und das Durchdringen des Cellulosesubstrats wird hierdurch stark verlangsamt bzw. innerhalb eines üblichen Benutzungszeitraums der Tabakverpackung vollständig oder zumindest weitgehend unterbunden. In einfachster Ausgestaltung besteht die Schicht ausschließlich aus dem polymeren Chrom(III)-Komplex mit wenigstens einem organischen Liganden und enthält keine weiteren Verbindungen. Unter einem Cellulosesubstrat wird im Rahmen der vorliegenden Offenbarung ein Substrat verstanden, das teilweise, überwiegend, zumindest im Wesentlichen vollständig oder vollständig aus Cellulose besteht. Mit anderen Worten kann der Celluloseanteil am Substrat 1 %, 2 %, 3 %, 4 %, 5 %, 6 %, 7 %, 8 %, 9 %, 10 %, 11 %, 12 %, 13 %, 14 %, 15 %, 16 %, 17 %, 18 %, 19 %, 20 %, 21 %, 22 %, 23 %, 24 %, 25 %, 26 %, 27 %, 28 %, 29 %, 30 %, 31 %, 32 %, 33 %, 34 %, 35 %, 36 %, 37 %, 38 %, 39 %, 40 %, 41 %, 42 %, 43 %, 44 %, 45 %, 46 %, 47 %, 48 %, 49 %, 50 %, 51 %, 52 %, 53 %, 54 %, 55 %, 56 %, 57 %, 58 %, 59 %, 60 %, 61 %, 62 %, 63 %, 64 %, 65 %, 66 %, 67 %, 68 %, 69 %, 70 %, 71 %, 72 %, 73 %, 74 %, 75 %, 76 %, 77 %, 78 %, 79 %, 80 %, 81 %, 82 %, 83 %, 84 %, 85 %, 86 %, 87 %, 88 %, 89 %, 90 %, 91 %, 92 %, 93 %, 94 %, 95 %, 96 %, 97 %, 98 %, 99 % oder 100 % betragen, wobei die prozentualen Angaben Gewichtsprozente angeben. Chrom kommt in verschiedenen Oxidationsstufen von Null bis +6 vor, wobei das dreiwertige und das sechswertige Chrom (Cr(III) und Cr(VI)) die stabilsten Formen darstellen. Dreiwertiges Chrom (Cr(III)) ist im Gegensatz zum toxischen Cr(VI) ein essentielles Spurenelement im Glukose- und Lipid-Metabolismus. Im Gegensatz zu Cr(VI) gibt es weder epidemiologische noch tierexperimentelle Belege für ein kanzerogenes Potential von Chrom(III)-Verbindungen. Dementsprechend besitzen zahlreiche Chrom(III)-Verbindungen eine Zulassung der Food and Drug Administration (FDA) und in vielen Ländern ähnliche Zulassungen durch entsprechende nationale Behörden, so dass sie sogar explizit für den direkten Lebensmittelkontakt geeignet sind, wobei warme und kalte Getränke eingeschlossen sind. Organisch substituierte Chrom(III)-Verbindungen können als wässrige Lösung auf das Cellulosesubstrat aufgetragen werden, wobei in Abhängigkeit des oder der Liganden auch andere Lösungsmittel oder Lösungsmittelgemische, die beispielsweise kurzkettige aliphatische Alkohole oder polare Lösungsmittel enthalten oder aus diesen bestehen, vorgesehen sein können.
- Die aufgetragenen Chrom(III)-Verbindungen reagieren dann mit freien OH-Gruppen des Cellulosematerials und polymerisieren aus. Nach dem Polymerisieren bilden die entstandenen Chrom(III)-Komplexe eine wasserunlösliche Schicht, die durch das Chrom chemisch an die polaren Gruppen auf der Substratoberfläche gebunden und dadurch immobilisiert ist. Die organischen Liganden sind von der Oberfläche des Cellulosesubstrats weg orientiert und sorgen für die wasserabweisenden Eigenschaften der Schicht. Ebenso wird die Nassfestigkeit des Cellulosesubstrats erhöht, während die sonstigen Eigenschaften des Cellulosesubstrats und insbesondere sein Aussehen vorteilhafter Weise nicht beeinträchtigt werden. Die Beschichtungslösung kann auf gängigen Papiermaschinen, Beschichtungsmaschinen und/oder Druckmaschinen sowie bei gängigen Maschinengeschwindigkeiten in an sich bekannter Weise aufgebracht werden, wobei bereits geringe flächenbezogene Mengen ausreichend sind. Aufgrund der Sperrwirkung der Cr(III)-haltigen Schicht kann die erfindungsgemäße Tabakverpackung generell frei von Metallfolien wie beispielsweise Aluminiumfolie und/oder frei von metallbeschichtetem Papier oder metallbeschichtetem Kunststoff ausgebildet sein. Weiterhin kann es vorgesehen sein, dass die erfindungsgemäße Tabakverpackung nicht in einer Kunststofffolie verpackt ist, wodurch eine bessere Umweltverträglichkeit und Recyclingfähigkeit erreicht werden. Durch die Sperrwirkung der Cr(III)-haltigen Schicht können auch Tabakprodukte in der erfindungsgemäßen Tabakverpackung gelagert werden, die stark apolare Stoffe wie ätherische Öle, beispielsweise Nelkenöl, Minzöl und dergleichen, enthalten, ohne dass es zu einer unerwünschten Diffusion durch die Tabakverpackung und einer damit verbundenen Verfärbung der Tabakverpackung kommt. Generell sind "ein/eine" im Rahmen dieser Offenbarung als unbestimmte Artikel zu lesen, also ohne ausdrücklich gegenteilige Angabe immer auch als "mindestens ein/mindestens eine". Umgekehrt können "ein/eine" auch als "nur ein/nur eine" verstanden werden. Alternativ oder zusätzlich zu "frischen" Tabakprodukten können in der erfindungsgemäßen Tabakverpackung auch gebrauchte Tabakprodukte wie beispielsweise gebrauchte Filter, Zigarettenstummel und dergleichen verpackt werden. Ebenso kann es grundsätzlich vorgesehen sein, dass Nicht-Tabakwaren, das heißt tabakfreie Güter, in der erfindungsgemäßen Verpackung verpackt werden können. Vorzugsweise umfassen die tabakfreien Güter nicht Kaugummi.
- Erfindungsgemäß ist weiterhin vorgesehen, dass der wenigstens eine organische Ligand ausgewählt ist aus einer Gruppe, die gesättigte Fettsäuren und einfach oder mehrfach ungesättigte Fettsäuren umfasst. Hierdurch kann eine sowohl wasser- bzw. feuchtigkeitsbeständige als auch fettbeständige Schicht hergestellt werden. Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Offenbarung kann ein einzelner Fettsäuretyp oder eine Mischung unterschiedlicher Fettsäuretypen verwendet werden. Geeignete Fettsäuren können dabei eine beliebige Anzahl an C-Atomen und - bei ungesättigten Fettsäuren - eine beliebige Anzahl und Position von Doppelbindungen aufweisen. Beispielsweise können kurzkettige Fettsäuren (1-8 C-Atome), mittelkettige (8 bis 12 C-Atome), langkettige (13 bis 21 C-Atome) oder sehr langkettige (mehr als 22 C-Atome) Fettsäuren verwendet werden. Geeignete Fettsäuren umfassen beispielsweise Methansäure, Ethansäure, Propansäure, Butansäure, Pentansäure, Hexansäure, Heptansäure, Octansäure, Nonansäure, Decansäure, Undecansäure, Dodecansäure, Tridecansäure, Tetradecansäure, Pentadecansäure, Hexadecansäure, Heptadecansäure, Octadecansäure, Nonadecansäure, Eicosan-/Icosansäure, Heneicosansäure, Docosansäure, Tetracosansäure, Hexacosansäure, Octacosansäure, Triacontansäure, Dotriacontansäure, Tetratriacontansäure, Undecylensäure, Myristoleinsäure, Palmitoleinsäure, Margaroleinsäure, Petroselinsäure, Ölsäure, Elaidinsäure, Vaccensäure, Gadoleinsäure, Gondosäure, Cetoleinsäure, Erucasäure, Nervonsäure, Linolsäure, Alpha-Linolensäure, Gamma-Linolensäure, Calendulasäure, Punicinsäure, Alpha-Eleostearinsäure, Beta-Eleostearinsäure, Stearidonsäure, Arachidonsäure, Eicosapentaensäure, Docosadiensäure, Docosatetraensäure, Docosapentaensäure, Docosahexaensäure und Tetracosahexaensäure, wobei diese Aufzählung nicht als abschließend anzusehen ist.
- Weiterhin ist erfindungsgemäß vorgesehen, dass eine Auftragsmenge der wasserabweisenden Schicht auf dem Cellulosesubstrat zwischen 0,01 g/m2 und 5 g/m2 beträgt. Hierdurch kann die Sperrwirkung gegenüber Feuchtigkeit und gegebenenfalls gegenüber Fetten optimal an den jeweiligen Einsatzzweck angepasst werden.
- Als vorteilhaft haben sich in einer Ausgestaltung der Erfindung Fettsäuren mit einer Kettenlänge zwischen C8 und C22 gezeigt. Durch die Verwendung solcher Fettsäuren können Schichten mit besonders guten Feuchtigkeits- und Fettbeständigkeitseigenschaften realisiert werden.
- In einer weiteren vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, dass der Chrom(III)-Komplex zusätzlich wenigstens ein Halogenion, insbesondere Chlorid, als Ligand umfasst oder dass der Chrom(III)-Komplex zumindest im Wesentlichen frei von anorganischen Liganden ist. Auch hierdurch können die Eigenschaften der Schicht optimal an den jeweiligen Einsatzzweck angepasst werden.
- Weitere Vorteile ergeben sich dadurch, dass das Cellulosesubstrat ein flächenspezifisches Gewicht zwischen 25 g/m2 und 600 g/m2 besitzt. Ein Cellulosesubstrat mit einer flächenbezogenen Masse bis zu 150 g/m2 wird im Rahmen der vorliegenden Offenbarung gemäß DIN 6735 auch als Papier, mit einer flächenbezogenen Masse zwischen 150 g/m2 und 600 g/m2 als Karton und mit einer flächenbezogenen Masse über 600 g/m2 als Pappe bezeichnet, wobei unter Pappe Vollpappe und Wellpappe verstanden wird. Auf diese Weise können insbesondere die mechanischen Eigenschaften der Tabakverpackung optimal an den jeweiligen Einsatzzweck angepasst werden.
- In einer weiteren vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, dass die wasserabweisende Schicht wenigstens ein weiteres Polymer umfasst. Hierdurch können die Eigenschaften der Schicht an unterschiedliche Einsatzzwecke angepasst werden. Darüber hinaus kann die Auftragbarkeit der Schicht erleichtert werden. Weiterhin kann die Lagerstabilität der zum Herstellen der Schicht verwendeten Chrom-haltigen Zusammensetzung verbessert werden.
- Dabei hat es sich als vorteilhaft gezeigt, dass das wenigstens eine weitere Polymer ausgewählt ist aus einer Gruppe, die hydrophile Polymere umfasst, insbesondere Stärke, Polyvinylalkohol, Polyvinylacetat und/oder teilhydrolysiertes Polyvinylacetat sowie beliebige Copolymere davon. Hierdurch können insbesondere die Flexibilität und Bedruckbarkeit der Schicht verbessert werden.
- Weitere Vorteile ergeben sich, indem die wasserabweisende Schicht durch wenigstens ein Auftragsverfahren aus der Gruppe Tiefdruck, Flexodruck, Siebdruck, Sprühen, Aufgussverfahren, Eintauchen, druckformfreie Druckverfahren, berührungslose Druckverfahren oder eine beliebige Kombination hieraus auf das Cellulosesubstrat aufgebracht ist. Auf diese Weise kann die Schicht besonders flexibel auf unterschiedliche Cellulosesubstrate sowie für unterschiedliche Anwendungszwecke aufgebracht werden.
- In einer weiteren vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, dass die wasserabweisende Schicht vollflächig und/oder bereichsweise auf das Cellulosesubstrat aufgebracht ist. Mit anderen Worten kann die Schicht die gesamte Oberfläche des Cellulosesubstrats oder nur einen oder mehrere diskrete Oberflächenbereiche bedecken. Hierdurch kann die Geometrie der Schicht präzise an die Ausgestaltung und den Einsatzzweck der Tabakverpackung angepasst werden. Alternativ oder zusätzlich ist es vorgesehen, dass die wasserabweisende Schicht auf einer Seite oder auf mehreren, insbesondere zwei, Seiten des Cellulosesubstrats aufgebracht ist. Auch dies stellt eine einfache Möglichkeit dar, um die Beschichtung des Cellulosesubstrats in Abhängigkeit der Ausgestaltung der Tabakverpackung optimal an die jeweiligen Anforderungen anzupassen. Vorzugsweise liegt das Cellulosesubstrat hierbei als Bahn oder Bogenmaterial vor. Weiterhin kann vorgesehen sein, dass die wasserabweisende Schicht nach einer Formgebung des Cellulosesubstrats auf dieses aufgebracht ist. Hierdurch wird eine Beschädigung der Schicht während des Formgebungsverfahrens, beispielsweise durch Schneiden, Stanzen, Biegen etc., zuverlässig verhindert. Das Cellulosesubstrat liegt damit beim Beschichten bereits als fertiges bzw. halbfertiges Produkt bzw. als Halbzeug vor. Alternativ oder zusätzlich ist es vorgesehen, dass die wasserabweisende Schicht in Form eines graphischen Elements auf das Cellulosesubstrat aufgebracht ist. Hierdurch können mit Hilfe der wasserabweisenden Schicht zusätzliche Informationen für einen Benutzer der Tabakverpackung bereitgestellt werden.
- Besondere Vorteile ergeben sich, indem die Tabakverpackung als Schachtel, Innenlagenpapier, Beutel und/oder Hülle für ein Tabakprodukt ausgebildet ist. Hierdurch können für alle gängigen Tabakverpackungen sowie für beliebige Kombinationen hiervon die erfindungsgemäßen Vorteile realisiert werden. Generell kann die erfindungsgemäße Verpackung auch zur Verpackung von tabakfreien Gütern - vorzugsweise mit Ausnahme von Kaugummis - verwendet werden.
- In einer weiteren vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, dass die Tabakverpackung zusätzlich zur wasserabweisenden Schicht wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung aufweist. Hierdurch können weitere Eigenschaften der Tabakverpackung bedarfsweise eingestellt werden. Beispielsweise kann die weitere Beschichtung als zusätzliche Sperr- bzw. Barriereschicht fungieren, beispielsweise als Diffusionssperre gegen Sauerstoff, als Sperrschicht gegen die Migration hydrophiler oder lipophiler Verbindungen und dergleichen. Weiterhin kann die weitere Beschichtung als Deckschicht zur Verringerung der Verblockungsneigung und/oder zur Erhöhung der Flexibilität der wasserabweisenden Schicht sowie zum Schutz vor mechanischer Beschädigung der wasserabweisenden Schicht dienen. Alternativ oder zusätzlich ist die weitere Beschichtung ein Aufdruck. Hierdurch können vorteilhaft Informationen bereitgestellt werden. Die weitere Beschichtung kann durch alle geeigneten Druck- und Auftragsverfahren erzeugt werden. Weiterhin können zwei oder mehr weitere Beschichtungen vorgesehen sein, die generell identisch oder unterschiedlich ausgebildet sein können. Die weitere Beschichtung kann in manchen Ausführungsformen eine Schichtdicke zwischen 1 nm und 3 nm besitzen. Aber auch größere Schichtdicken, beispielsweise über 5 nm sowie Schichtdicken im µm-Bereich zwischen 1 µm bis 1000 µm können bedarfsweise vorgesehen sein. Ebenso kann die weitere Beschichtung generell mit allen geeigneten Auftragstechniken hergestellt sein. Die weitere Beschichtung kann auch eine sogenannte Überdruck-Lackierung (engl. "Over Print Varnish") sein, um darunterliegende Schichten besser vor äußeren Einflüssen zu schützen und/oder um einen bestimmten optischen Eindruck zu erzeugen.
- Weitere Vorteile ergeben sich dadurch, dass die wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung zwischen dem Cellulosesubstrat und der wasserabweisenden Schicht angeordnet ist. Mit anderen Worten bildet die weitere Beschichtung eine Art Grundierung, auf welcher die wasserabweisende Schicht aufgebracht ist. Hierdurch können Oberflächenunebenheiten des Cellulosesubstrats ausgeglichen und/oder die Haftung der wasserabweisenden Schicht auf dem Cellulosesubstrat verbessert werden. Alternativ oder zusätzlich ist es vorgesehen, dass die weitere Beschichtung auf einer dem Cellulosesubstrat abgewandten Seite der wasserabweisenden Schicht angeordnet ist. Insbesondere ist die weitere Beschichtung eine Deckschicht, welche die darunterliegende wasserabweisenden Schicht vor Beschädigung schützt.
- Weitere Vorteile ergeben sich, indem die wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung quervernetzten und/oder unvernetzten Polyvinylalkohol und/oder ein quervernetztes und/oder unvernetztes Polyvinylalkohol-Copolymer umfasst. Unter Polyvinylalkohol wird im Rahmen der Erfindung ein thermoplastischer Kunststoff verstanden, welcher zumindest überwiegend aus Kopf-Kopf- und/oder Kopf-Schwanz-verknüpften Monomeren der allgemeinen Formel
- Es kann weiterhin vorgesehen sein, dass als Vernetzungsmittel wenigstens eine gesättigte und/oder ungesättigte organische Verbindung mit zumindest einer funktionellen Gruppe ausgewählt aus Aldehyd, Carbonsäure, Säureanhydrid und Aminogruppe, und/oder Eisenchlorid und/oder ein Alkylorthosilikat, insbesondere Tetraethylorthosilikat, und/oder ein Harnstoff-Formaldehyd-Harz und/oder ein physikalischer Vernetzer, insbesondere Carboxymethylcellulose verwendet wird. Hierdurch können die chemischen und physikalischen Eigenschaften der Sperrschicht besonders exakt an den Anwendungszweck des Verpackungsmaterials sowie an das jeweilige Beschichtungs- und Trocknungsverfahren angepasst werden. Geeignete gesättigte und/oder ungesättigte Vernetzungsmittel sind beispielsweise Glyoxal, Glutaraldehyd, Acrylaldehyd, Malonsäure, Glutarsäure, Adipinsäure, Zitronensäure, Butantetracarbonsäure, Acrylsäure, Polyacrylsäure, Methacrylsäure, Maleinsäure, Methacrylmethylester oder Hydroxyethylmethacrylat sowie beliebige Mischungen hieraus sowie Polymerisate und/oder Copolymerisate davon. Beispielsweise kann als Vernetzer Polyacrylsäure und/oder Polymethacrylsäure (im Folgenden unter dem Begriff "Poly(meth)acrylsäure" zusammengefasst) verwendet werden, deren Säuregruppen mit den Alkohol-Gruppen des Polyvinylalkohols /Polyvinylalkohol-Copolymers veresterbar sind. Grundsätzlich können natürlich auch andere Polyalkylacrylsäuren wie beispielsweise Polyethylacrylsäure verwendet werden.
- In einer weiteren vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung der Erfindung ist vorgesehen, dass die wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung wenigstens ein Metall, insbesondere Aluminium und/oder Silber, und/oder eine Metallverbindung, insbesondere Al2O3 und/oder TiO2, und/oder eine anorganische Verbindung, insbesondere SiO2, umfasst. Unter dem Begriff "Metall" werden vorliegend sowohl Reinelemente als auch Basislegierungen des betreffenden Metalls verstanden. Das Metall, die Metallverbindung und/oder die anorganische Verbindung kann dabei beispielsweise als Pigment vorliegen. Ebenso kann vorgesehen sein, dass die Beschichtung vollständig aus einem Metall, einer Metallverbindung und/oder einer anorganischen Verbindung besteht. Hierdurch kann eine zusätzliche Barrierewirkung erzielt werden. Zusätzlich ist es möglich, bestimmte optische Eigenschaften der Verpackung, beispielsweise über farbige anorganische Verbindungen, einzustellen. Metalle wie Aluminium oder Silber können beispielsweise durch chemische oder physikalische Gasphasenabscheidung (Aufdampfen) als Beschichtung aufgebracht werden. Die resultierenden Schichten haben eine hohe Barrierewirkung gegen Sauerstoff und Feuchtigkeit und können zudem als (Super)Hochglanzschichten ausgebildet werden.
- Weitere Merkmale der Erfindung ergeben sich aus den Ansprüchen, den Figuren und der Figurenbeschreibung. Die vorstehend in der Beschreibung genannten Merkmale und Merkmalskombinationen, sowie die nachfolgend in der Figurenbeschreibung genannten und/oder in den Figuren alleine gezeigten Merkmale und Merkmalskombinationen sind nicht nur in der jeweils angegebenen Kombination, sondern auch in anderen Kombinationen verwendbar, ohne den Rahmen der Erfindung zu verlassen. Es sind somit auch Ausführungen von der Erfindung als umfasst und offenbart anzusehen, die in den Figuren nicht explizit gezeigt und erläutert sind, jedoch durch separierte Merkmalskombinationen aus den erläuterten Ausführungen hervorgehen und erzeugbar sind. Es sind auch Ausführungen und Merkmalskombinationen als offenbart anzusehen, die somit nicht alle Merkmale eines ursprünglich formulierten unabhängigen Anspruchs aufweisen. Es sind darüber hinaus Ausführungen und Merkmalskombinationen, insbesondere durch die oben dargelegten Ausführungen, als offenbart anzusehen, die über die in den Rückbezügen der Ansprüche dargelegten Merkmalskombinationen hinausgehen oder von diesen abweichen. Fig. 1 zeigt eine schematische Perspektivansicht einer als Zigarettenschachtel ausgebildeten Tabakverpackung 10 gemäß einem ersten Ausführungsbeispiel. Die Tabakverpackung 10 umfasst ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das als Innenlagenpapier (so genanntes "inner bundling" oder "inner liner") ausgebildet und einseitig oder beidseitig bereichsweise oder vollständig mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 beschichtet ist. Die Schicht 14 besteht aus polymeren Chrom(III)-Komplexen, die mit C12-C18 Fettsäureliganden koordiniert sind. Alternativ kann auch nur eine der Seiten des Cellulosesubstrats 12 mit der Schicht 14 versehen sein. Das Cellulosesubstrat 12 ist in einer Schachtel 16 aus Karton angeordnet, wobei die Schachtel 16 im gezeigten Ausführungsbeispiel nicht mit einer Schicht 14 versehen ist. Grundsätzlich ist es aber natürlich auch möglich, zusätzlich oder alternativ zum Innenlagenpapier auch die Schachtel 16 vollständig oder bereichsweise mit einer wasserabweisenden Cr(III)-Schicht 14 zu versehen. -
Fig. 2 zeigt eine schematische Seitenansicht einer als Tabakbeutel ausgebildeten Tabakverpackung 10, die aus einem mit der wasserabweisenden Cr(III)-Schicht 14 versehenen Cellulosesubstrat 12 besteht. Die Schicht 14 ist dabei ausschließlich auf der Innenseite aufgebracht. Hierdurch ist sichergestellt, dass der in der Verpackung 10 befindliche Tabak (oder ein sonstiges Verpackungsgut) nicht austrocknet. Zusätzlich kann hierdurch vorteilhaft sichergestellt werden, dass keine im Verpackungsgut befindlichen ätherischen Öle bzw. Aromastoffe (z. B. Nelkenöl, Minzöl, Ölmischungen, zugesetzte Aromen und dergleichen) oder sonstige flüchtige Substanzen aus der Verpackung 10 migrieren. - Zum Herstellen der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 wird das betreffende Cellulosesubstrat 12 mit einer gegebenenfalls alkoholhaltigen wässrigen Lösung eines monomeren Chrom(III)-Komplexes beschichtet. Die chemische Struktur dieser monomeren Chrom(III)-Komplexe ist bislang nicht abschließend analytisch aufgeklärt worden. Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass die Monomere bzw. Untereinheiten des späteren Polymers die in Formel (I) gezeigte Struktur besitzen, in welcher R das Fettsäureradikal und R', R" den aliphatischen oder aromatischen Rest des betreffenden Alkohols bzw. im Fall einer Alkoholmischung der betreffenden Alkohole oder Wasser bezeichnet.

- Die Polymerisation kann durch Temperaturerhöhung und pH-Wertänderung initiiert bzw. gesteuert werden. Vorzugsweise ist die Chrom(III)-Verbindung zum Zeitpunkt des Auftrags auf das Cellulosesubstrat 12 bereits in einem oligomeren Zustand bzw. liegt als kolloidale oder sub-kolloidale Lösung vor. Etwaige Niederschläge sollten vermieden oder vor dem Auftragen auf das Cellulosesubstrat 12 entfernt werden, um eine hohe Schichtqualität sicherzustellen. Nach dem Auftrag auf das Cellulosesubstrat 12 vernetzen die einzelnen Untereinheiten bzw. die bereits gebildeten Oligomere weiter, wobei die Chrom(III)-Ionen mit freien OH-Gruppen der Cellulose reagieren und die Schicht 14 dadurch kovalent an die Oberfläche des Cellulosesubstrats 12 binden (Formel III).
- Damit können sowohl gestrichene als auch ungestrichene Papiere, Kartons oder Pappen teilweise oder vollständig mit der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 versehen werden.
- Die Auftragung der Beschichtungslösung auf das Cellulosesubstrat 12 kann mithilfe üblicher Beschichtungsmaschinen bzw. über an sich bekannte Druckverfahren wie beispielsweise Tiefdruck, Flexodruck, Siebdruck, Sprühen, Aufgussverfahren, Eintauchen etc. realisiert werden. Die Beschichtung kann sowohl vollflächig als auch bereichsweise ausgebildet werden. Das Cellulosesubstrat 12 kann zum Beschichten als Bahn oder Bogenmaterial vorliegen oder bereits als fertiges oder halbfertiges Produkt ausgebildet sein. Beispielsweise können die in
Fig. 1 und Fig. 2 gezeigten Tabakverpackungen 10 erst nach einer entsprechenden Formgebung beschichtet und getrocknet werden. -
Fig. 3 bis Fig. 18 zeigen schematische Schnitte durch unterschiedlich beschichtete Cellulosesubstrate 12 einer erfindungsgemäßen Tabakverpackung 10. Im Einzelnen zeigtFig. 3 ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das lediglich auf seiner Innenseite, das heißt der Seite, die in der fertigen Tabakverpackung 10 dem Verpackungsgut zuzuwenden ist, mit der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 beschichtet ist. -
Fig. 4 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite mit der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 und auf der Außenseite mit einer weiteren Beschichtung 15 versehen ist. Die weitere Beschichtung 15 kann ein Aufdruck sein. -
Fig. 5 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite und auf seiner Außenseite mit der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 versehen ist. -
Fig. 6 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite mit der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 und auf der Außenseite mit der weiteren Beschichtung 15 versehen ist. Die weitere Beschichtung 15 kann vernetzten und/oder unvernetzten Polyvinylalkohol bzw. ein Polyvinyl-Copolymer umfassen bzw. aus diesem bestehen. -
Fig. 7 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite mit der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 und auf der Außenseite mit der weiteren Beschichtung 15 und einer weiteren wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 versehen ist. Die weitere Beschichtung 15 kann vernetzten und/oder unvernetzten Polyvinylalkohol bzw. ein Polyvinyl-Copolymer umfassen bzw. aus diesem bestehen. -
Fig. 8 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite und seiner Außenseite unmittelbar mit jeweils einer weiteren Beschichtung 15 versehen ist. Die weiteren Beschichtungen 15 können Aufdrucke sein und sind ihrerseits mit jeweils einer wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 beschichtet, so dass die wasserabweisenden Schichten 14 jeweils die Deckschichten des Schichtsystems bilden. -
Fig. 9 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite mit der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 und auf der Außenseite mit zwei unterschiedlich ausgebildeten weiteren Beschichtungen 15 beschichtet ist. Jede Beschichtung 15 kann ein Aufdruck sein. -
Fig. 10 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite mit einer Beschichtung 15 und der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 als Deckschicht beschichtet ist. Auf der Außenseite ist das Cellulosesubstrat 12 mit zwei unterschiedlich ausgebildeten weiteren Beschichtungen 15 beschichtet. Jede Beschichtung 15 kann ein Aufdruck sein und/oder Polyvinylalkohol (vernetzt/unvernetzt) enthalten. -
Fig. 11 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite nacheinander mit der wasserabweisenden Schicht 14, einer Beschichtung 15 aus einem Metall bzw. einer Metalllegierung und/oder einem anorganischen Oxid und abschließend mit einer Beschichtung 15 aus Polyvinylalkohol (PVA, vernetzt oder unvernetzt) beschichtet ist. Die mittlere Beschichtung 15 kann als (Super)Hochglanzschicht ausgebildet und beispielsweise durch Aufdampfen hergestellt sein. Hierdurch wird neben einer zusätzlichen Sperrwirkung auch eine vorteilhafte optische Anmutung erzeugt. -
Fig. 12 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite nacheinander mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht 14, einer Beschichtung 15 aus einem Metall bzw. einer Metalllegierung und/oder einem anorganischen Oxid und abschließend mit einer weiteren, als Aufdruck ausgebildeten Beschichtung 15 versehen ist. Auf der Außenseite des Cellulosesubstrats 12 ist eine grundsätzlich optionale wasserabweisende Schicht 14 ausgebildet. Alternativ oder zusätzlich kann auf der Außenseite auch mindestens eine weitere Beschichtung 15, beispielsweise aus vernetztem oder unvernetztem PVA (PVOH/Polyvinylalkohol), vorgesehen sein. -
Fig. 13 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite lediglich mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 beschichtet ist. Auf der Außenseite ist das Cellulosesubstrat 12 nacheinander mit einer Beschichtung 15 aus PVA (vernetzt oder unvernetzt), einer Beschichtung 15 aus einem Metall, einer Metalllegierung und/oder einer anorganischen Verbindung wie etwa SiO2 und abschließend mit einer als Aufdruck ausgebildeten weiteren Beschichtung 15 beschichtet. -
Fig. 14 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite zunächst mit einer als Aufdruck ausgebildeten Beschichtung 15 und anschließend mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 beschichtet ist. Auf der Außenseite ist das Cellulosesubstrat 12 wie im vorhergehenden Beispiel nacheinander mit einer Beschichtung 15 aus PVA (vernetzt oder unvernetzt), einer Beschichtung 15 aus einem Metall (z. B. Al oder Ag), einer Metalllegierung (z. B. einer Al- oder Ag-Basislegierung) und/oder einer anorganischen Verbindung wie etwa SiO2 und abschließend mit einer als Aufdruck ausgebildeten weiteren Beschichtung 15 beschichtet. -
Fig. 15 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite mit vier unterschiedlichen Beschichtungen 15 versehen ist, nämlich nacheinander mit einer PVA-Beschichtung 15, einer Beschichtung 15 aus einem Metall (z. B. Al oder Ag), einer Metalllegierung (z. B. einer Al- oder Ag-Basislegierung) und/oder einer anorganischen Verbindung wie etwa SiO2, einer als Aufdruck ausgebildeten weiteren Beschichtung 15 und abschließend mit einer Beschichtung 15, die als sogenannte Überdruck-Lackierung (Over Print Varnish) ausgebildet ist. Hierdurch kann die Tabakverpackung 10 mit einer hochwertigen Endbearbeitung ausgestattet werden, um eine matte, satinierte oder glänzende Oberfläche zu erzeugen. Ebenso können verbesserte Rutsch- und Scheuerfestigkeitseigenschaften realisiert werden. Auf der Außenseite ist das Cellulosesubstrat 12 mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 beschichtet. -
Fig. 16 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite mit vier unterschiedlichen Beschichtungen 15 versehen ist, nämlich nacheinander mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht 14, einer Beschichtung 15 aus einem Metall (z. B. Al oder Ag), einer Metalllegierung (z. B. einer Al- oder Ag-Basislegierung) und/oder einer anorganischen Verbindung wie etwa SiO2, einer als Aufdruck ausgebildeten weiteren Beschichtung 15 und abschließend mit einer Beschichtung 15, die als sogenannte Überdruck-Lackierung (Over Print Varnish) ausgebildet ist. Auf der Außenseite ist lediglich eine einzelne PVA-Beschichtung 15 aufgebracht. -
Fig. 17 zeigt ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Außenseite mit vier unterschiedlichen Beschichtungen 15 versehen ist, nämlich nacheinander mit einer PVA-Beschichtung 15, einer Beschichtung 15 aus einem Metall (z. B. Al oder Ag), einer Metalllegierung (z. B. einer Al- oder Ag-Basislegierung) und/oder einer anorganischen Verbindung wie etwa SiO2, einer als Aufdruck ausgebildeten weiteren Beschichtung 15 und abschließend mit einer Beschichtung 15, die als sogenannte Überdruck-Lackierung (Over Print Varnish) ausgebildet ist. Auf der Innenseite ist das Cellulosesubstrat 12 mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 beschichtet. -
Fig. 18 zeigt schließlich ein Cellulosesubstrat 12, das auf seiner Innenseite mit einer PVA-Beschichtung 15 und einer als Deckschicht dienenden wasserabweisenden Schicht 14 beschichtet ist. Auf seiner Außenseite ist das Cellulosesubstrat 12 mit vier unterschiedlichen Beschichtungen 15 versehen, nämlich nacheinander mit einer PVA-Beschichtung 15, einer Beschichtung 15 aus einem Metall (z. B. Al oder Ag), einer Metalllegierung (z. B. einer Al- oder Ag-Basislegierung) und/oder einer anorganischen Verbindung wie etwa SiO2, einer als Aufdruck ausgebildeten weiteren Beschichtung 15 und abschließend mit einer Beschichtung 15, die als Überdruck-Lackierung (Over Print Varnish) ausgebildet ist. - Es versteht sich, dass die gezeigten Ausführungsformen nicht abschließend sind. Es können zahlreiche Varianten und Schichtabfolgen vorgesehen sein, solange wenigstens eine der Schichten eine erfindungsgemäße wasserabweisende Schicht 14 ist.
- Die in den Unterlagen angegebenen Parameterwerte zur Definition von Prozess- und Messbedingungen für die Charakterisierung von spezifischen Eigenschaften des Erfindungsgegenstands sind auch im Rahmen von Abweichungen - beispielsweise aufgrund von Messfehlern, Systemfehlern, DIN-Toleranzen und dergleichen - als vom Rahmen der Erfindung mitumfasst anzusehen.

Claims (13)
- Tabakverpackung (10), welche ein Cellulosesubstrat (12) aufweist,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass das Cellulosesubstrat (12) zumindest bereichsweise mit einer wasserabweisenden Schicht (14) beschichtet ist, wobei die wasserabweisende Schicht (14) einen polymeren Chrom(III)-Komplex mit wenigstens einem organischen Liganden (R) umfasst, wobei der wenigstens eine organische Ligand (R) ausgewählt ist aus einer Gruppe, die gesättigte Fettsäuren und einfach oder mehrfach ungesättigte Fettsäuren umfasst, und wobei eine Auftragsmenge der wasserabweisenden Schicht (14) auf dem Cellulosesubstrat (12) zwischen 0,01 g/m2 und 5 g/m2 beträgt. - Tabakverpackung (10) nach Anspruch 1,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass die Fettsäure eine Kettenlänge zwischen C8 und C22 besitzt. - Tabakverpackung (10) nach Anspruch 1 oder 2,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,

dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass die wasserabweisende Schicht (14) durch wenigstens ein Auftragsverfahren aus der Gruppe Tiefdruck, Flexodruck, Siebdruck, Sprühen, Aufgussverfahren, Eintauchen, druckformfreie Druckverfahren, berührungslose Druckverfahren oder eine beliebige Kombination hieraus auf das Cellulosesubstrat (12) aufgebracht ist. - Tabakverpackung (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass die wasserabweisende Schicht (14) vollflächig und/oder bereichsweise auf das Cellulosesubstrat (12) aufgebracht ist und/oder dass die wasserabweisende Schicht auf einer Seite oder auf mehr als einer Seite des Cellulosesubstrats (12) aufgebracht ist und/oder dass die wasserabweisende Schicht nach einer Formgebung des Cellulosesubstrats (12) auf dieses aufgebracht ist und/oder dass die wasserabweisende Schicht in Form eines graphischen Elements auf das Cellulosesubstrat (12) aufgebracht ist. - Tabakverpackung (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass diese als Schachtel (16), Innenlagenpapier, Beutel und/oder Hülle für ein Tabakprodukt ausgebildet ist. - Tabakverpackung (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass diese zusätzlich zur wasserabweisenden Schicht (14) wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung (15) aufweist. - Tabakverpackung (10) nach Anspruch 10,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass die wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung (15) zwischen dem Cellulosesubstrat (12) und der wasserabweisenden Schicht (14) und/oder auf einer dem Cellulosesubstrat (12) abgewandten Seite der wasserabweisenden Schicht (14) angeordnet ist und/oder dass die wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung (15) ein Aufdruck ist. - Tabakverpackung (10) nach Anspruch 10 oder 11,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
die wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung (15) quervernetzten und/oder unvernetzten Polyvinylalkohol und/oder ein quervernetztes und/oder unvernetztes Polyvinylalkohol-Copolymer umfasst. - Tabakverpackung (10) nach einem der Ansprüche 10 bis 12,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
die wenigstens eine weitere Beschichtung (15) wenigstens ein Metall, insbesondere Aluminium und/oder Silber, und/oder eine Metallverbindung, insbesondere Al2O3 und/oder TiO2, und/oder eine anorganische Verbindung, insbesondere SiO2, umfasst.
