Definitions
- the invention relates to an injection molding machine, in particular a metal die casting machine, with (a) a casting chamber, (b) a casting piston and (c) a casting piston lubricating device for lubricating the casting piston.
- the invention relates to a method for lubricating such an injection molding machine.
- Injection molding machines are used to manufacture injection molded parts.
- the casting material for example a metal melt
- the casting piston is then moved in such a way that the casting material is pressed into the die.
- the casting material solidifies there and an injection-molded part is formed.
- the pouring piston must be lubricated to prevent it from seizing up.
- lubricating oil is dripped onto the casting piston from above.
- the lubricating oil runs down both sides of the outer surface of the casting piston and forms a thin lubricating film when the casting piston executes its subsequent stroke.
- the disadvantage here is the comparatively high consumption of lubricating oil.
- Another disadvantage is that failure of the casting piston lubrication device very quickly leads to seizure of the casting piston. It must therefore be ensured that the pouring piston lubrication device works with a very high level of reliability.
- DE 199 23 341 A1 discloses a die-casting machine, the casting piston of which is locally targeted with lubricant.
- the lubricant is applied, in particular sprayed, directly to the outer surface of the casting piston.
- EP 1 820 584 A1 teaches designing a cold-chamber die-casting device in such a way that a water-lubricant mixture is sprayed under pressure into the filling chamber.
- EP 0 394 988 A2 discloses arranging a lubricant chamber within the casting piston rod or the casting piston, the lubricant chamber being connected to the outer surface of the casting piston in such a way that the lubricant passes from the lubricant chamber onto the outer surface of the casting piston.
- JP H03 1281160A discloses introducing lubricant into a groove by means of compressed air. The lubricant is scraped out of this groove by the tip of the casting piston when the piston is guided past the groove.
- DE 43 16 927 A1 relates to a casting set for a die-casting machine, the casting chamber having an annular circumferential lubricant channel.
- the lubricant is applied to this channel via a feed line, which then flows through the channel and finally reaches a drain line.
- DE 21 62 186 A relates to an oiling arrangement for an injection molding machine, the casting piston of which has oil ejection nozzles through which oil can be directed onto the inside of the sleeve.
- the disadvantage of this is that the formation of a lubricating film can only be controlled poorly.
- the invention is based on the object of reducing disadvantages in the prior art.
- the invention solves the problem by means of an injection molding machine of the generic type in which the casting piston lubricating device has a fiber object that can be soaked with lubricating oil, in particular one soaked with lubricating oil, for applying the lubricating oil to the casting piston by means of the fiber object.
- the invention solves the problem by a method comprising the steps of (i) supplying lubricating oil to an impregnable fiber object which lies against the casting piston, and (ii) applying the lubricating oil to the casting piston by means of the fiber object.
- the invention solves the problem by a method with the steps of (i) supplying lubricating oil to an impregnable fiber object which lies against the casting piston, (ii) soaking the fiber object with the lubricating oil and (ii) applying the lubricating oil to the casting piston by means of the fiber object .
- the advantage of the invention is that the casting piston is reliably lubricated. Advantageously, this is also often achieved with a significantly lower amount of lubricating oil. The reason is that the impregnable fiber object only applies as much lubricating oil to the casting piston as is necessary to form a lubricating oil film. In contrast to drip lubrication, there is usually less unused lubricating oil that runs off.
- an injection molding machine according to the invention has a higher dry running resistance in many cases.
- an interruption of the lubricating oil supply often leads to seizure of the casting piston only after a greater number of strokes than with conventional drop lubrication.
- the casting chamber is understood to mean a structure of the injection molding machine into which the casting material to be processed is introduced, in particular poured, in order to introduce it into a cavity of a casting mold.
- the casting piston is understood to mean a piston by means of which the casting material is introduced from the casting chamber into the cavity during operation.
- the casting piston lubricating device is understood to mean a device by means of which the casting piston is provided with a lubricating film during operation of the injection molding machine.
- the fiber object soakable with lubricating oil is understood to mean an object which is made up of at least one fiber, in particular a plurality of fibers, and which has areas between individual fiber sections into which lubricating oil can be introduced.
- the fiber object can have a regular structure formed by fibers.
- the fiber object can have a textile.
- the fiber object can have a disordered fiber structure, that is, a fleece.
- the fiber object can have fibers that are oriented at least in sections and extend in a preferred direction. In other words, the fiber object can form a brush, at least in sections.
- the fiber object (i) has both a textile and a nonwoven or (ii) has both a textile and a brush or (iii) has both a brush and a nonwoven.
- the fiber object is made of fleece adjacent to the casting piston. It has been found that fleece is particularly well suited to delivering the lubricating oil to the outer surface of the casting piston.
- the fleece is, for example, felt.
- the impregnable fiber object is preferably in contact with the outer surface of the casting piston. In this way, a sufficiently thick, but not too thick, lubricating film is applied to the casting piston.
- the pouring piston lubricating device has a lubricating oil supply for supplying lubricating oil to the fiber object. It is favorable if the lubricating oil supply is designed to meter in a predetermined amount of lubricating oil after a predetermined number of strokes of the casting piston. For example, the specified number of strokes is at most 10, in particular 1 or 1, 2 or 3. It has been found to be particularly favorable if the lubricating oil supply is designed to meter in a predetermined amount of lubricating oil after each stroke of the casting piston. It should be noted that metering in after a predetermined number of strokes is equivalent to metering in before a predetermined number of strokes.
- Such a lubricating oil supply is known per se for drip lubrication, but there the lubricating oil is dripped directly onto the casting piston and not - as in the case of the invention - supplied to the fiber object.
- the fiber object is constructed in such a way that it distributes the supplied lubricating oil around the casting piston.
- the fiber object radially surrounds the casting piston by at least 50%. This is understood to mean in particular that the sum of the lengths of the angular intervals over which the fiber object rests on the casting piston is at least 180 °. It is particularly favorable if the fiber object completely surrounds the casting piston radially. In other words, the fiber object is then designed to apply a lubricating oil film over the entire circumference of the casting piston.
- the fiber object is received in a groove of a fiber object holder. In this way, the fiber object can be easily soaked with lubricating oil. At the same time, only comparatively little lubricating oil is required to completely soak the fiber object.
- the injection molding machine is preferably an aluminum die casting machine.
- the casting piston may only have a small gap relative to the casting chamber in which it is guided. That makes safe lubrication particularly important. Attempts have therefore been made in the past to ensure the lubrication of the casting piston by means of drop lubrication in which a comparatively large amount of lubricating oil was supplied. It was surprisingly found that in most cases a significant reduction in the Lubricating oil consumption is possible and yet there is no reduction in the process reliability of the application of the lubricating oil film.
- the casting piston lubrication is designed to meter in a lubricating oil dose of at most 0.5 ml per casting piston stroke and per 380 mm circumferential length of the casting piston.
- the casting piston lubrication is preferably designed for metering in a lubricating oil dose of at most 0.13 ml per casting piston stroke and 100 mm circumferential length.
- Lubricating oil cans of 1 ml or more per casting piston stroke and a circumferential length of 380 mm are common. The use of the fiber object therefore enables the lubricating oil consumption to be reduced to less than half in many cases. If the circumference of the casting piston is 760 millimeters, for example, a maximum of 1 milliliter of lubricating oil is preferably metered in per casting piston stroke.
- Figure 1a shows a schematic view of an injection molding machine 10 according to the invention, which has a casting chamber 12 and a casting piston 14 running in the casting chamber 12.
- the casting chamber 12 is in fluid communication with a cavity 16 of a casting mold 18.
- the casting mold 18 has a first tool part 20.1 and a second part tool 20.2, which in one, in Figure 1
- the casting position shown, the sub-tools 20.1, 20.2 can also be brought into an ejection position in which a manufactured die-cast part can be formed.
- FIG. 12 schematically shows a pouring piston lubricating device 22 comprising a fiber object 24.
- the fiber object 24 is received in a groove 26.
- a lubricating oil supply 28 lubricating oil is supplied to the fiber object 24.
- Figure 1b shows a detailed view of the casting piston lubrication device 22.
- this consists of its piston 12 facing and in FIG Figure 1b visible side made of felt. It is particularly favorable if the fiber object 24 is made entirely of felt, as in the present case, but this is not necessary.
- Figure 1b It can be seen that the fiber object 24 is arranged in a groove and extends along a radial inside of a cylinder jacket surface.
- the lubricating oil supply 28 has a lubricating oil container 30 in which the lubricating oil 32 is received.
- a dose of lubricating oil V 32 is applied from above onto the fiber object 24 on the casting piston stroke of the casting piston 14.
- the pouring piston lubricating device it is possible, but not necessary, for the pouring piston lubricating device to have an excess oil discharge 36, by means of which excess lubricating oil 32 is discharged. As a rule, such an excess oil discharge can be dispensed with, since only as much lubricating oil 32 is supplied as is required for the lubrication of the casting piston.
- Figure 2 shows the casting piston lubricating device 22 and the lubricating oil supply 28, for this with the casting piston 14 in two different positions.
- the dashed line shows an end position in which the casting piston 14 transfers the casting material, for example a liquid aluminum alloy, into the cavity 16 (cf. Figure 1a ) has pressed.
- the solid lines show a starting position of the casting piston 14, which is also shown in FIG Figure 1 you can see.
- the casting chamber volume is in this starting position the casting chamber 12 maximum.
- a movement between the start position and the end position and back again corresponds to a casting piston stroke of the casting piston 14.
- the casting material for example an aluminum alloy or a zinc alloy, can be poured into the casting chamber 12 through a filling opening. After the casting material has been introduced into the cavity 16, allowed to cool and molded, a die-cast part results as a result of the manufacturing process.

Abstract
Description
