Definitions

  • the invention relates to a packaging comprising, on the one hand, a container having side walls meeting at corners, a bottom and an upper opening, as well as a lid intended to close off the upper opening of the container.
  • the field of the invention is that of plastic packaging obtained conventionally by injection molding of the lid and of the container. the other, elastically.
  • the first cover engagement portion includes an outwardly extending ridge extending around the periphery, the second cover engagement portion having an inwardly directed ridge disposed on a skirt second engagement part, which is able to hook below the edge directed towards the outside of the container, to ensure the locking of the lid on the container.
  • the outward facing edge of the container, on the one hand, and the inward facing edge of the lid, on the other hand, have curved angle sections in the corners where said side walls meet, said sections curved angles connecting the side sections of the respective edges.
  • the removal of the cover is typically carried out by the end user, and may prove difficult for some, or even require the aid of a tool such as a screwdriver to detach the cover from the container.
  • One of the solutions is disclosed by the document EP 0 110 859 and includes providing a collapsible skirt section on the lid, at one of the curved angle sections of the inwardly facing ridge, hinged to a folding area, such as a flexible hinge, at the top of the second engagement portion of the cover.
  • This collapsible skirt section is operable to fold from an engaged position to an outwardly directed position such that a central portion of said at least one inwardly directed ridge angle section is levered away from the edge directed towards the outside of the upper opening, and that the engagement between the edges directed respectively towards the inside and towards the outside is thus weakened on the central part.
  • the collapsible skirt section In the engaged position, the collapsible skirt section is separated from the remaining skirt section by means of two grooves formed in the outer surface of the skirt and extending downward from a fold area to the lower edge of the skirt, said grooves reducing the wall thickness of the skirt so that the skirt can be broken along the grooves to collapse the collapsible skirt section from its engaged position to its forward facing position the outside.
  • Such a solution comprising a collapsible skirt section greatly facilitates the opening of the lid at the place where it is the most difficult (ie a corner), by weakening the connection between the lid and the container in this corner, and advantageously combines a opening indicator function, the two grooves frangible being broken irreversibly, after raising the skirt section.
  • the inwardly directed edge is carried by the collapsible skirt section, located below the flexible hinge between the collapsible skirt section and the second engagement part.
  • such an opening indicator is however not completely reliable: it remains possible to detach the lid from the container, while maintaining the folding skirt section in its engagement position, that is to say say without having to raise it, and thus to cut the two breakable grooves.
  • it is very often possible to detach the cover at the level of a corner by pressing simultaneously, with one hand, strongly under the skirt section, exerting a force tending to unhook the cover, and with the other hand , by constraining the skirt section radially towards the container, and so as to prevent the grooves from being severed. This results in the detachment of the lid without breaking the breakable grooves.
  • the object of the present invention is to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing a packaging comprising a lid and a container of the type as described in the document FR2921909 , which includes a collapsible skirt section facilitating the detachment of the lid, reducing, or at the very least limiting substantially the risks of fraudulent openings, namely the detachment of the lid without breaking the breakable grooves to function as an opening indicator.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide such packaging, the design of which does not complicate the injection molding equipment necessary for its manufacture, and therefore its cost price.
  • Another object of the present invention is to provide such a packaging whose load resistance when stacking the packaging is significantly improved compared to the aforementioned state of the art.
  • the invention relates to a packaging comprising, on the one hand, a container, plastic, comprising side walls meeting at corners, an upper opening and a bottom, and on the other hand, a lid, detachable plastic configured to cover the upper opening of the container, and in which the container is provided at its upper opening with a first engagement portion bearing an outwardly directed ridge, and extending over the periphery, said lid being provided on its peripheral part of a second downwardly extending engagement portion provided with an inwardly directed ridge which is capable of hooking below the outwardly directed ridge of the container, and in which the second engagement portion of the lid has a skirt extending over the lower part of the second engagement portion, and in which the edge of the container directed outwards, on the one hand, and the ridge of the lid diri on the other hand, having curved angle sections at the corners where said side walls meet, said curved angle sections connecting the side sections of respective edges, wherein at least one of the curved angle sections of the inwardly directed ridge is provided with a
  • the invention also relates to a method of manufacturing a packaging in accordance with the invention in which said lid and said container are obtained by injection molding.
  • the invention relates to a packaging 1 comprising, on the one hand, a plastic container 2, comprising side walls 20, 21, 22, 23 meeting at corners 24, an upper opening 25 and a bottom 26, and on the other hand, a lid 4, detachable plastic configured to cover the upper opening of the container.
  • the side walls 20, 21, 22, 23 can be substantially divergent, forming between them a truncated pyramid, configured so that the container is stackable inside an identical container.
  • the container 2 is provided at its upper opening 25 with a first engagement portion 27 bearing a ridge 28 directed outwards, and extending over the periphery, said cover 4 being provided on its peripheral part with a second engagement portion 40 extending folded downwards provided with a ridge 41, directed towards the interior which is able to hook below the ridge 28 directed towards the outside of the container.
  • the first engagement part 27 penetrates a groove of the second engagement part 40, open downwards.
  • the first engagement part 27 comprises an inverted U-shaped section, including a first length section extending the inner wall upwards, followed by a second length section, inclined with respect to the first section, for example horizontal, followed by a third section in length, inclined with respect to the second section and extending downwards, this third section bearing the ridge 28 directed towards the outside, and partly terminating in a second ridge 30.
  • the second engagement part 40 forms a groove open downwards, receiving the first engagement part 27.
  • the second engagement part 40 comprises an inverted U-shaped section, including a first section of length extending the upper wall of the cover, followed by a second length section, inclined with respect to the first section, for example horizontal, followed by a third length section, inclined with respect to the second section and extending downwards by forming a skirt 42, this third section bearing the edge 41 directed inwards.
  • the second engagement portion of the lid thus has the skirt 42 which extends over the lower part of the second engagement portion 40, the edge 28 of the container facing outwards, on the one hand, and the ridge 41 of cover 4 facing inwards, on the other hand, having curved angle sections 29, 43 at the corners where said side walls meet, said curved angle sections connecting the side sections of the respective edges.
  • At least one of the curved angle sections 43 of the inwardly facing ridge 41 is provided with a collapsible skirt section 44, hinged to a fold area 46 at the top of the second engagement portion 40 which is able to fold from an engagement position P1 to an outwardly directed position so that a central part of said at least one angle section of the inwardly directed ridge 41 is pushed aside by leverage of the edge 28 directed towards the outside of the upper opening, and the engagement between the edges 28, 41 is thus weakened on the central part.
  • Such a foldable skirt section facilitates detachment of the cover by the user, and without requiring the use of a tool such as a screwdriver: the weakening is obtained simply by spreading the foldable skirt section 44 outwards. which pivots relative to the rest of the cover around the folding zone 46.
  • said folding skirt section 44 is, in its engagement position, separated from the remaining section of the skirt by means of two grooves 45 formed in the external surface of the skirt and extending downwards. a fold zone up to the lower edge of the skirt: said grooves 45 reduce the wall thickness of the skirt so that the skirt can be ruptured along the grooves to collapse the collapsible skirt section from its engagement position P1 to its outward facing position.
  • These grooves 45 once irreversibly broken, constitute opening indicators.
  • the first engagement portion 27 of the container carrying the edge 28 directed towards the outside extends and extends below the edge, called the first edge, and ends below of the first edge by a second edge 41 directed outwards, having a curved angle section.
  • the folding skirt section 42 carries at least one lug 47, directed inwards, which in the engagement position P1 of the folding skirt section, is able to hook under the second edge 30 directed towards the outside the first engagement portion, at least when a force is applied to the cover tending to detach it.
  • the attachment of said at least one lug 47 on the second edge 30 is carried out, in the engagement position P1 of the folding skirt section in a local area only, along the curved section of the second edge 30 directed outwards: the lug 47 extends along the length of the second edge 30 only over part of the second edge 30: for example the lug extends along the second edge along a dimension less than 1 /3, or even 1/5 of the length of the second edge 30 on the curved angle section.
  • the gripping overlap Rac2 between the mutually engaging faces of said at least one lug 47 and of the second edge 30, in a direction radial to the curved section of the second edge 30, is of greater dimension than the overlap of coupling Rac1 between the mutually engaging faces of the inwardly directed edge 41 and the first edge 28 directed outwards, in a direction radial to the curved section of the first edge 28.
  • the Rac2 and Rac1 hooking covers are visible for information only on the figure 6 : it can be seen that the Rac2 attachment cover between the lug 47 and the second edge 30 is much greater than the Rac1 attachment cover between the inwardly directed edge 41 and the outwardly directed edge 28 .
  • the at least one lug 47 always comes to hook the second edge 30, due to a greater Rac2 hooking overlap: by way of example, the Rac2 hooking overlap between said at least one lug 47 and the second edge 30 is at least two times greater than the gripping overlap Rac1 between the edge 41 directed inwards and the first edge 28 directed outwards.
  • the dimension of the lug 47 directed inwards is much greater than the dimension of the edge 41 directed inwards.
  • the folding skirt section 42 of the cover 4 may have a through recess 48 extending along the height of the folding skirt section 44, above and to the right of said at least one lug 47.
  • the function of this recess is to facilitate the demolding of the cover after injection molding during its manufacture: failing this the large dimension of the lug inwards, necessary to obtain the Rac2 hooking covering, makes the demolding tedious, even impossible without any particular arrangement of the mould.
  • recess 48 implicitly weakens the folding skirt section 44: also this recess extends only over the zone necessary to facilitate demolding, that is to say that this recess is located in line with said at least lug 47, which itself spans a low section of length along the angle section 43, and to limit the size of this recess.
  • this recess is located in line with said at least lug 47, which itself spans a low section of length along the angle section 43, and to limit the size of this recess.
  • said through recess 48 extends, for example from its lower part from said at least one lug 47 and up to the folding zone 46 between the folding skirt section 44 and the upper part of the second part of engagement 40, and only on the length of the lug 47.
  • the invention further improves the resistance to stacking of the packaging, and more particularly the holding of the lid of the lowest packaging in the stack: under the effect of the weight of the column, in the packaging of the state of the art, it may happen that the lid unhooks and finds itself literally pushed through the opening of the container.
  • the invention allows, by the attachment of said at least lug, a better resistance to depression.
  • at least one lug 47 and at least one collapsible skirt section can be provided on each corner of the package.
  • the folding skirt section 44 carries said at least one lug 47, as well as the edge 41 directed inwards, both positioned under the folding zone 46, in the engagement position P1 of the folding skirt section 44: the edge 41 directed towards the inside is therefore severed when the folding skirt section 44 is raised, from its engagement position P1.
  • the edge 41 directed inward may be located above the fold area 46, so that raising the foldable skirt section does not severe the inward facing ridge 41, preserving the sealing properties of the lid with the first opening.
  • the container has four side walls meeting at four corners, the edge 41 directed towards the inside of the lid having four curved angle sections 43 with four collapsible skirt sections 44, each carrying at least one lug 47 of the folding skirt section, capable of hooking with the second edge 30 directed towards the outside of the container.
  • At least four lugs 47 provide reliable attachment of the lid to the four corners of the container, which further increases the attachment connection between the lid and the container.
  • the invention further improves the resistance to stacking of the packaging, and more particularly the strength of the lid of the lowest packaging in the stack: under the effect of the weight of the column.
  • the invention allows, by the attachment of said at least lug at the corners, a better resistance to depression, the lid remaining attached to the container at least at the level of the four corners having said lugs.
  • the container deforms the lid and creates strong internal tensions which propagate as far as the second engagement part 40.
  • the cover remains hooked by its corners, thanks to the action of the lugs 27 which come into abutment against the second edge 30, under the effect of the deformations during the load, eliminating the game J, advantageously avoiding the depression of the cover in the container.
  • the second illustrated embodiment of the figures 7 to 11 is advantageous in that it provides reinforcement of the grip between the first engagement part of the container and the second engagement part of the lid, not only at the corners, but also along the edges between the corners on the side sections of the edges 28.41/.
  • this second embodiment comprises first of all, said at least one lug 47 configured to hook, the second edge 30 of the container, and according to the cover attachment described above, important, which ensures, not only having to cut the grooves 45 to release said at least lug 47 from the second edge 30, but also a maintenance of the lid on the container, during stacking, by resisting the deformation and stresses under load, thanks to a robust attachment at the corners of the cover carrying said at least lug, following the angle sections 43 curved.
  • the attachment may possibly be reinforced, still at the corners, with the presence of two lugs 47 on each folding skirt section 44; at the curved angle sections. Doubling the lugs 47 by corners can be a general measure according to the invention, and not limited to this particular embodiment.
  • peripheral wall 49 of the cover extending immediately the second engagement portion 40 comprises along the edges of the lid on the side sections between the curved angle sections 43 where the ridge 41 facing the interior of the lid hooks the ridge 28 facing the exterior of the container , counter-support ribs 50, protruding, vertical, positioned under the cover, facing outwards.
  • counter-support ribs 50 are significant in responding to the problem identified above for the first embodiment in that they advantageously form a plurality of counter-supports Ap on the internal faces of the side walls 20, 21, 22, 23 of the container, distributed over the periphery of the container on the side sections of the edges 28, 41 between the angle sections 43 curved.
  • These against Ap support advantageously reinforce the attachment between the edges 28, 41 along the edges of the cover on the side sections of the edges 28,41 between the angle sections 43 curved.
  • the second engagement part 40 forms a groove G open downwards, receiving the first engagement part 27.
  • the second engagement part 40 comprises an inverted U-shaped section, including a first length section, extending the upper wall of the cover (including immediately the peripheral wall 49 extended by a central horizontal wall of the cover), followed by a second length section, inclined with respect to the first section, for example horizontal, followed by a third section in length, inclined with respect to the second section and extending downwards forming a skirt 42, this third section bearing the edge 41 directed inwards.
  • the peripheral wall 49 extends the second engagement part 40 by connecting the second engagement part to the horizontal wall of the lid. As visible to figure 10 and 11 , this peripheral wall 49 can be inclined with respect to the horizontal, central wall of the cover, for example by an angle ⁇ for example between 30° and 70° in particular between 45° and 70°. This wall 49 is descending, from the second engagement part 40 towards the horizontal wall. This peripheral wall 49 delimits with the side walls 20; 21; 22; 23, when the lid is attached to the container (by hooking the ribs 28, 41) a groove G, opening under the underside of the lid 4 and which runs on the inner periphery of the container.
  • the counter-support ribs 50 extend inside this groove G, coming into counter-support Ap on the inner face of the side wall 20; 21; 22; 23. These supports actually prohibit the approximation of the peripheral wall 49 under the load during stacking. This advantageously avoids such a deformation which tends to open the U-shaped section of the second engagement part 40, favoring the unhooking of the edges 28, 41 along the edges.
  • better retention of the attachment between the edges 28 and 41 along the edges of the packaging between the corners is obtained.
  • the density of the ribs 50 against support along the edge of the cover 4 can be, on the middle part PM of the lateral section between two sections of curved angles 43, greater than the linear density of the ribs 50 against support on the parts extremes PE of the lateral section close to the sections of curved angles 43, on either side of the median part PM
  • the median part PM comprises five counter-support ribs 50 along the length of the edge between two corners, whereas the two end parts PE have a lower linear density, with only two counter-support ribs.
  • each counter-support rib 50 can be triangular in shape, adjoining the peripheral wall 49 by the longest side 51 of the triangle called the first side, while a second side 52 of the triangle, substantially horizontal, is oriented in the extension of the horizontal wall of the cover and in particular of its underside, the third side 53 forming a support zone on the internal face of the container.
  • the third side 52 has a section of greater length Sls, forming the counter support Ap on the internal face of a side wall of the container, and a section of lower length Sli, notched, so as not to press on the side wall, the angle formed between the second side 52 and the third side 53 advantageously being round. This avoids the presence of sharp corners liable to alter the content, or even to pierce a flexible bag used to condition materials inside the container.
  • the lid 4 may also include wedging ribs 54, projecting from the periphery of the lid, inwards with respect to the second engagement part 40 and upwards with respect to the horizontal wall of the lid .
  • the wedging ribs 54 are distributed over the inner periphery of the second engagement part 40, so as to receive between them by centering it the lower part of a container of identical packaging superposed on the horizontal wall of the cover. Said wedging ribs constitute abutments with the lower part of the side walls of the superposed container, ensuring its centering on the lid.
  • the counter-support ribs 50 are, at least in part, ribs located, with respect to the peripheral wall 49, in the extension of the wedging ribs 54; said counter support ribs 50 and said wedging ribs 54 being coplanar, in pairs.
  • Each wedging ribs 54 extends in height from the horizontal wall of the cover and up above the lower part of the second engagement part 40, and inwards, from the second engagement part 40 up to the horizontal wall, partially covering the horizontal wall of the lid. As seen at figure 10 each wedging rib 54 adjoins the rest of the lid at a first edge 55 along the horizontal wall, at a second edge 56 along the inclined peripheral wall 49, and over part of the height of the second engagement part along a third edge 57. In combination with the counter-support ribs 50, these wedging ribs 54 can participate in limiting the transmission of forces under the load to the second engagement part.
