Definitions

  • the invention relates to a carpet with a carpet material which has a pile layer which is designed as a cut pile and a backing layer, and with an anti-slip layer which is held in place by an adhesive, the underside of which forms the underside of the carpet, wherein a radiation protection layer is arranged between the anti-slip layer and the backing layer of the carpet material.
  • Anti-slip layers are known which are made of a fleece that has a non-slip material at least on its underside, for example in the form of a coating or in the form of knobs. If such anti-slip layers extend to the side edge of the carpet, they can be visible from the side, which leads to an unsightly appearance. If, on the other hand, the anti-slip layer ends at a distance from the side edges of the carpet, a kink can be visible on the top of the carpet in the area of the side edge of the anti-slip layer, especially in the case of relatively thin carpets.
  • the one from the GB385,674A The resulting carpet has a pile layer and the edge strips of the carpet are folded down and glued. In the area between the folded edge strips, an anti-slip layer is glued to the underside of the carpet material, which connects directly to the folded edge strips.
  • a radiation protection film which has a base layer made of fabric, a layer of silver fibres and a protective layer made of PET.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an advantageous carpet of the type mentioned at the outset. According to the invention, this is achieved by a carpet with the features of claim 1.
  • edge strips of the carpet material are folded over and glued, whereby the side edges of the carpet are thus formed by the folds between the folded edge strips and the remaining part of the carpet material.
  • the pile layer of the folded edge strips is sheared off.
  • the anti-slip layer only extends over the area surrounded by the folded edge strips, i.e. the anti-slip layer does not extend over or under the folded edge strips.
  • the folded edge strips preferably adjoin directly to the side edges of the anti-slip layer.
  • the folded edge strips can thus be used to create a height adjustment over the areas adjacent to the side edges of the carpet, over which the anti-slip layer does not extend. This can prevent the formation of a visible kink on the top of the carpet in the area of the side edges of the anti-slip layer.
  • the sheared surfaces of the folded edge strips facing the subfloor should preferably be level with the underside of the anti-slip layer.
  • a radiation protection layer is arranged between the anti-slip layer and the backing layer of the carpet material.
  • Radiation protection fabrics and films are known and have a conductive material, in particular metal, to keep out unwanted electromagnetic radiation.
  • the design according to the invention protects the radiation protection layer against damage. Overall, this creates a Non-slip carpet with an attractive appearance, stable design and additional radiation protection functionality.
  • the carpet has a carpet material 1 which, in a conventional manner, has a pile layer 2 and a backing layer 3.
  • the pile layer 2 can also be held in a conventional manner by a fabric layer and fixed to this with a fixing material, for example a latex material. This is not shown in the figures for the sake of simplicity.
  • the backing layer 3 can, for example, be formed from a latex material.
  • Pile layer 2 is made up of a cut pile, so it is velour.
  • the carpet material 1 can therefore be produced in a conventional manner using a tufting process.
  • An anti-slip layer 5 is arranged beneath the carpet material 1, the underside 4 of which forms the underside of the carpet.
  • the anti-slip layer 5 is held in place by an adhesive 6.
  • the anti-slip layer 5 is glued to a radiation protection layer 7, which in turn is glued to the backing layer 3 of the carpet material 1 by an adhesive 8.
  • the side edges 9 of the anti-slip layer are spaced apart from the side edges 10 of the carpet. These distances are bridged by folded and glued edge strips 11 of the carpet material 1. There is therefore a bond 12 between the back layer 3 of the respective folded edge strip 11 and the back layer 3 of the remaining part of the carpet material 1.
  • the "remaining part of the carpet material 1" is therefore the part of the carpet material 1 that forms the top of the carpet and extends between the side edges 10 of the carpet.
  • a respective side edge 10 of the carpet is therefore formed by the fold between this remaining part of the carpet material 1 and the respective folded edge strip 11.
  • the pile layers 2 of the folded edge strips are sheared.
  • the sheared surfaces 13 of the folded edge strips 11 facing the substrate lie in a common plane with the underside 4 of the anti-slip film 5, see. Fig.3 .
  • the lateral edges of the radiation protection layer 7 are congruent with the lateral edges of the anti-slip layer 5. Since the radiation protection layer 7 has a very small thickness, generally less than 0.1 mm, the radiation protection layer 7 could also be extended into the area of the edge strips 11. In such a variant, the radiation protection layer 7 extends into the spaces between the back layers 3 of the edge strips 11 and the back layer 3 of the remaining part of the carpet material 1. The radiation protection layer 7 could extend to the bend between the edge strips 11 and the remaining part of the carpet material 1 or end at a distance from this. The back layers 3 of the folded edge strips 11 are thus glued to the radiation protection layer 7 over at least part of their extent in this variant, which in turn is glued to the back layer 3 of the part of the carpet material 1 that forms the top of the carpet.
  • the anti-slip layer 5 can be, for example, a fleece, a fabric, a grid or a Film which is provided at least on the underside with a material which has a high coefficient of friction with common surfaces such as wood, a plastic covering, ceramic or concrete.
  • a continuous coating with a non-slip material can be provided or this non-slip material can be provided in places, e.g. in the form of knobs.
  • the non-slip material can be or have e.g. acrylate.
  • the thickness of the anti-slip layer can, for example, be in the range of 4 mm +/- 1 mm.
  • the anti-slip layer can also improve the acoustic properties of the room. Walking comfort can also be increased.
  • the radiation protection layer 7 has metal to block electromagnetic radiation, for example in the form of metal fibers.
  • the radiation protection layer 7 can be a fabric, for example a silver fabric.
  • another conductive material can also be present, for example a conductive plastic material.
  • a design as a film is also conceivable and possible.
  • the bond 12 between the side edge strips 11 and the remaining part of the carpet material 1 can be formed, for example, by a synthetic rubber adhesive.
  • the bond 8 between the radiation protection layer 7 and the backing layer 3 of the carpet material 1 can be formed, for example, by a spray adhesive.
  • the bond 6 between the anti-slip layer 5 and the radiation protection layer 7 can, for example, be formed by an adhesive layer already applied to the anti-slip layer 5 by the manufacturer.
  • the Radiation protection layer 7 is glued to the backing layer 3 of the carpet material 1.
  • the anti-slip layer 5 is then glued to the radiation protection layer 7. This state is in Fig.4 shown.
  • the back layer 3 is coated with the adhesive forming the bond 12 in the area not covered by the anti-slip layer 5.
  • the edge strips 11 are folded over and glued to their back layers, see. Fig.5 .
  • the pile layer 2 of the folded edge strips 11 is sheared off with a shearing tool.
  • shearing tools are known, for example, for shearing sheep.
  • the carpet material 1 advantageously comprises plant components, in particular in the area of the pile layer 2, for example corn starch.
  • the proportion of plant components can be more than 30%.
  • the carpet material 1 can comprise polyamide, in particular in the area of the pile layer 2.
  • the radiation protection layer 7 in combination with the carpet material 1 can cause a slight static charge, which leads to the finest house dust being trapped in the carpet. This can keep the air we breathe free of pollution. The fine dust can be sucked away using a suitable vacuum cleaner.
  • the shielding of electromagnetic radiation by the radiation protection layer 7 can be achieved mainly by reflection.
  • the carpet Since the side edges 10 of the carpet are formed by the folds to the folded edge strips 11, the carpet has the same structure in the edge area as in the surface area. The edge area of the carpet therefore does not need to be specially stitched or edged.
