- System consisting of a straightening machine with maintenance device, comprising a straightening machine for straightening a metal strip or planar metal parts,having a number of upper straightening rolls (5) in an upper roll mill (1) and a number of lower straightening rolls (6) in a lower roll mill (2),wherein the upper and lower straightening rolls (5, 6) are arranged such that they form, in a working area (4), a straightening gap (3) between an infeed (8) and an outlet (9) of the straightening machine, in order to act from above and from below onto the metal strip or metal part to be straightened, and to guide this in a working direction (7) from the infeed (8) to the outlet (9)through the straightening machine,and having a lower slide plate (15) with which, at an operating side of the straightening machine, the lower straightening rolls (6) can be extended perpendicularly to the working direction (7) out of the working area (4) of the straightening machine and retracted again,characterised in thatas a maintenance device is provided an alternating prism (22) for setting into the straightening gap (3), which is designed such that, it can rest on the lower straightening rolls (6) when the lower slide plate (15) is extended out of the working area (4), and at the same time the upper straightening rolls (6) can rest on the alternating prism (22).

the alternating prism (22) consists substantially of a frame (23) having at least two roll bearing bars (25, 25', 25") which are held in the frame (23) and/or form parts of the frame. - Method for making straightening rolls accessible for the maintenance of a straightening machine having a number of upper straightening rolls (5) in an upper roll mill (1) and a number of lower straightening rolls (6) in a lower roll mill (2) wherein the upper and lower straightening rolls (5, 6) are arranged such that they form, in a working area (4), a straightening gap (3) between an infeed (8) and an outlet (9) of the straightening machine, in order to act from above and from below onto the metal strip or metal part to be straightened, and to guide this through the straightening machine in a working direction (7) from the infeed (8) to the outlet (9), and having a lower slide plate (15) with which, the lower straightening rolls (6) at an operating side of the straightening machine can be extended perpendicularly to the working direction (7) of the straightening machine out of the working area (4) and retracted again, wherein the upper straightening rolls (5) are mounted at least on the operating side of the straightening machine in an upper bearing bar (12) and the lower straightening rolls (6) are mounted at least on the operating side of the straightening machine in a lower bearing bar (13) and the upper and lower bearing bars (12, 13) are fastened releasably directly or indirectly in the respective roll mill (1, 2), particularly using a system according to at least one of claims 1 to 8, wherein the method has the following method steps:- raising the upper roll mill (1) and/or lowering the lower roll mill (2) for widening the straightening gap (3),- laying an alternating prism (22) into the widened straightening gap (3) in that it is laid directly or indirectly onto the lower straightening rolls (6),- releasing the upper bearing bar (12) from the upper roll mill (1) and laying the upper straightening rolls (5) on the alternating prism (22),- releasing the lower bearing roll (13) and/or the lower slide plate (15) from the lower roll mill (2),- drawing the lower slide plate (15), together with the alternating prism (22) resting on the lower straightening rolls (6) and the upper straightening rolls (5) resting on the alternating prism (22), out of the working area (4) of the straightening machine.
- Method according to claim 9, wherein prior to drawing out the lower slide plate (15), the upper bearing bar (12) is coupled to the lower bearing bar (13) in order to guarantee that the upper bearing bar (12) having the upper straightening rolls (5) is drawn out of the working area (4) of the straightening machine together with the lower bearing bar (13), the lower straightening rolls (6) and the lower side plate (15).
- Method according to any of claims 9 or 10, wherein after drawing out the lower slide plate (15), the upper straightening rolls (5) are released from the upper bearing bar (12) in order to be able to remove individual straightening rolls (5).
- Method according to claim 11, wherein the releasing of the upper straightening rolls (5) from the upper bearing bar (12) is carried out with the aid of a holding bar (27) which is equipped with cutouts (28) for the upper straightening rolls (5), in which the upper straightening rolls (5) are fixed in at least in an axial degree of freedom, wherein the holding bar (27) is moved relative to the upper bearing bar (12) in an axial degree of freedom in order to release the upper straightening rolls (5) from the upper bearing bar (12).
