Definitions

  • the invention relates to a sectional door panel with a front wall, a rear wall, a space between the front wall and the rear wall, a tooth-shaped projection on an upper side, an indentation on a lower side and side end caps which at least partially cover the intermediate space with a side wall.
  • the invention also relates to a sectional door which has a sectional door leaf formed from several sectional door panels, guide means attached thereto and a door frame.
  • the invention is based on sectional door panels and sectional doors formed with them, which are produced and sold by Novoferm GmbH, Isselburg and, in a comparable manner, by competitors. Please refer to the brochure “Sectional door systems for garages, welcome home” from Novofermmaschines GmbH as of 2018.
  • sectional door leaves are moved between a usually vertical closed position and a usually horizontal opening position, for which purpose the door frame has approximately vertical frame sections, approximately horizontal frame sections and arcuate frame sections in between.
  • the individual panels When driving through the arcuate section, the individual panels are angled towards each other by joints arranged on the inside of the door leaf, so that a relative movement results between the ends of the sectional door panels.
  • the tooth-shaped projections on the top of the panels and the associated indentation on the bottom of the panels achieve a finger pinch protection profile that, despite the Angling the successive sectional door panels avoids the intervention of a finger.
  • the front of the tooth-shaped projection is usually curved in an arc or, for manufacturing reasons, formed in the manner of a polygon, whereby this arc or polygon expediently runs approximately along a radius around the axis of rotation of the joints at which the successive panels are connected to one another.
  • the indentation is then adapted to this arch shape so that a permissible gap dimension is not exceeded during the pivoting movement described.
  • Known sectional door panels are often formed from a front sheet metal shell and a rear sheet metal shell with a plastic foam arranged in between, which connects the sheet metal shells and overall contributes to a high level of stability of the panels. If these sheet metal shells, which form the front wall on the one hand and the rear wall on the other hand, are not connected to one another directly according to a usual and preferred embodiment but only via the plastic foam, a good insulating effect with regard to heat conduction in the direction of the thickness of the sectional door panels is achieved even with a simple structure.
  • the object of the invention is to improve the functional properties.
  • the end caps at least partially and preferably completely cover the indentation laterally and that the side walls formed by the end caps on an upper side wall section that at least partially covers the tooth-shaped projection relative to a side wall section adjoining underneath with a horizontal offset Direction of the adjacent front wall and rear wall are arranged.
  • the individual sectional door panels are arranged one behind the other or one above the other, the tooth-shaped projection of the one, usually lower, sectional door panel is inserted into the indentation of the following, usually upper sectional door panel at the transitions.
  • the upper side wall section together with the tooth-shaped projection, dips into the indentation of the subsequent sectional door panel, this indentation being laterally covered by the end cap of this sectional door panel.
  • the offset is usually arranged so that at a parallel alignment of successive sectional door panels and in particular in the closed position of a sectional door leaf the successive end caps form an almost continuous flat surface without projections, protuberances or the like. This results in a particularly advantageous and visually appealing design.
  • sectional door panels a usual orientation is assumed, which also corresponds to the arrangement in the closed position for a vertically closing sectional door. Accordingly, the front wall and the rear wall then run in the horizontal direction along a width of the sectional door and in the vertical direction along a height of the sectional door.
  • the front wall is arranged on the outside of the gate plate, which is also visible from the outside in a usual arrangement on a garage.
  • the rear wall faces the closed interior, with joints for a pivotable connection of the sectional door panels being arranged in the area of the rear wall.
  • the assignment of the tooth-shaped projection to the top and the indentation to the bottom also refers to the usual arrangement of the sectional door panels in the closed position. It goes without saying that the sectional door panels can also be arranged in a different way. For example, side-closing sectional doors are also known, which can also be constructed from the sectional door panels described. For the purpose of better readability, reference will essentially be made below to the usual, previously described arrangement, without this limiting the possible uses.
  • sectional door leaf formed from the sectional door panels according to the invention is cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner. It should be taken into account that the sectional door panels according to the invention are not only suitable for garages but also as closures for trucks or the like.
  • the upper side wall section of the end caps can be arranged with a horizontal offset in the direction of the adjacent front and rear walls relative to the side wall section below, it is provided according to a preferred embodiment of the invention that at least in the area of the indentation the end caps have a lateral spacing gap to the end faces the front wall and the rear wall are arranged.
  • the upper, laterally inwardly offset side wall section can be placed exactly on the end faces of the front wall and the rear wall.
  • the spacing gap then provided on the side wall section below enables the overlapping arrangement in the manner described.
  • the side wall section below the offset usually extends straight to a lower end of the side wall.
  • the end caps can also be used to compensate for a slightly oblique cut of the front wall and the rear wall, in which case sufficient free space must always be provided so that the end caps can be arranged to overlap one another in the manner described.
  • the end caps surround the front wall, the rear wall and the space in an approximately C-shape in a horizontal section.
  • the end caps cover the end face of the front wall and the rear wall, the end caps each having a front leg arranged on the front wall and a rear leg arranged on the rear wall.
  • the front leg and the hind leg With the described vertical alignment of the sectional door panels, they usually extend along the width and height of the sectional door panels or a sectional door leaf formed with them.
  • the length of the front leg and the back leg along the width is usually different.
  • the front leg is preferably designed to be relatively short so that the appearance of the front wall is not affected.
  • the length of the front leg is chosen to be at least so large that, in the manner described, the provision of a spacing gap and a certain compensation for a slightly oblique cut could be provided.
  • the front leg has a length between 8 mm and 40 mm, in particular between 12 mm and 25 mm.
  • the front leg can also be angled at a little more than 90° relative to the side wall.
  • the rear leg runs on the back of the sectional door panel or a sectional door leaf formed from it.
  • the rear leg is expediently made longer, with joints, guide means, in particular in the form of rollers, and other fittings being provided on the inside of the sectional door leaf. Accordingly, the rear leg can also contribute to considerable mechanical stabilization, although certain visual restrictions can be accepted anyway due to the additional fitting parts.
  • the length of the rear leg along the width is typically between 50 mm and 100 mm.
  • the rear leg expediently has holes for fastening screws, etc.
  • the end caps can be made in one piece from sheet metal in a particularly simple manner, the sheet thickness being, for example, between 0.5 mm and 2 mm, in particular between 0.8 mm and 1.2 mm.
  • a one-piece design made of sheet metal is understood in particular when each of the end caps is formed from a single sheet metal blank by punching and/or cutting and by forming.
  • the side walls formed by the end caps can completely cover the gap, the tooth-shaped projection and the indentation from the side.
  • the end caps have fastening holes into which screws or other fasteners are usually inserted when assembled.
  • the front wall and the rear wall can each be formed from a formed sheet metal. In practice, these elements are also referred to as half-shells. Corresponding profiles can also be created in an endless process using profile rolling.
  • the space is preferably filled with a filling material, in particular plastic foam.
  • a filling material in particular plastic foam.
  • the front wall and the rear wall are each formed from a sheet metal shell as described above, these can preferably only be covered by the plastic foam and if necessary Fastening screws attached later must be connected to each other, so that particularly good thermal insulation is achieved. Even if there is no direct connection between the half-shells made of sheet metal, sufficient strength can be achieved through the foam structure in the manner of a composite element.
  • the front leg and the rear leg are preferably completely flat.
  • the front leg preferably extends from the lower end of the side wall up to the offset or ends shortly before it.
  • the offset can therefore only be formed in a simple manner in the side wall by sheet metal forming.
  • the offset between the upper side wall section and the side wall section below can be, for example, between 1 mm and 5 mm, in particular between 1.5 mm and 3 mm.
  • the offset is preferably formed as a step running in a straight line along the thickness direction of the sectional door panels. Such a straight material forming is also easily possible, which then results in the previously described essentially flat surface in a closed position of several successive sectional door panels.
  • the upper side wall sections are at their upper end in the direction of the one underneath tooth-shaped projection has a bevel, that is in particular an angle with an angle between 10 ° and 45 ° relative to the vertical.
  • the invention also relates to a sectional door with a sectional door leaf formed from a large number of sectional door panels that are articulated to one another.
  • Guide means in particular rollers, are attached to the sectional door leaf, with the sectional door also comprising a door frame, which can in particular accommodate the aforementioned guide means.
  • the sectional door can also be equipped with an electric drive in a known manner.
  • the Fig. 1 shows a sectional door with a sectional door leaf 2 formed from a large number of sectional door panels 1 that are connected to one another in an articulated manner.
  • the successive sectional door panels 1 are connected by joints 3 connected with each other.
  • guide means 4 in the form of rollers are also provided, the guide means 4 being received by a gate frame 5.
  • the door frame 5 has essentially vertical sections 5a, adjoining arcuate sections 5b and horizontal sections 5c.
  • the sectional door leaf 2 In the closed position, the sectional door leaf 2 is arranged along the vertical sections 5a and closes the in the Fig. 1 shown building opening 6. In the open position, the sectional door leaf 2 is located essentially between the horizontal sections 5c of the door frame 5.
  • the shows Fig. 1 the sectional door leaf during an opening or closing movement or in a partially opened state, in which case the sectional door leaf also extends along the arcuate section 5b.
  • the successive sectional door panels 2 are then angled at the joints 3, so that the sectional door panels 2 on the outside of the door leaf move away from each other to a certain extent due to the rotational movement.
  • the sectional door panels 1 have a known finger pinch protection shape.
  • the sectional door panels 1 have a tooth-shaped projection 7 on their top and an indentation 8 on their underside (see in particular Fig. 3 ).
  • the assignment of a top and a bottom refers to the closed position of the sectional door leaf 2 and essentially only serves to conceptually assign the individual parts or sections.
  • the Fig. 2 shows a single sectional door panel. It can be seen that an end cap 9 is provided at each of the two lateral ends, which can be made of sheet metal in a particularly simple manner. According to the invention, it is provided that the end caps 9 at least partially cover the respective associated indentation 8 laterally, with side walls 10 of the sectional door panels 1 formed by the end caps 9 on an upper side wall section 10a, which at least partially covers the tooth-shaped projection 7, opposite a side wall section 10b adjoining underneath with a horizontal offset 14 is arranged in the direction of an adjacent front wall 11 and rear wall 12. Further details of this design can be found in the figures described below.
  • FIG. 3 shows Fig. 3 with a parallel alignment of successive sectional door panels 1 (corresponding to the closed position), a vertical section through the transition area.
  • the individual sectional door panels 1 According to the section along the vertical direction z and a thickness direction y, it can be seen that the individual sectional door panels 1 have a gap 13 between the front wall 11 and the rear wall 12, which is filled with plastic foam.
  • the front wall 11 and the rear wall 12 are each formed from formed sheets, which are also referred to as half-shells. These half-shells are connected by the plastic foam arranged in the intermediate space 13, with the sheet metal profiles according to Fig. 3 are not connected to each other directly but only via the plastic foam.
  • the end caps 9 of successive sectional door panels 1 are arranged with an overlap, so that an opening gap, which would allow the intervention of a finger, is avoided even during an opening and closing movement on the sides of the sectional door panels.
  • the transition area between successive sectional door panels 1 is also very well protected against drafts, driving rain or even water from a high-pressure cleaner.
  • the offset 14 is chosen so that the upper side wall section 10a can be arranged without clamping behind the side wall 10 of the sectional door panel 1 above it and thus dips into the indentation 8 of the upper sectional door panel 1 together with the tooth-shaped projection 7.
  • FIGS 5A to 5C show further details of the two end caps 9, which are usually mirror-symmetrical to one another in a sectional door panel, whereby due to the mirror symmetry in the Figures 5A to 5C only one of the two end caps 9 is shown as an example.
  • the end caps 9 in a horizontal section are essentially C-shaped, with the end caps 9 covering the end faces of the front wall 11 and the rear wall 12 and each having a front leg 15 arranged on the front wall 11 and a rear leg 16 arranged on the rear wall 12.
  • the front leg 15 and the rear leg 16 are completely flat and closed except for individual fastening holes 17 in the rear leg 16.
  • the front leg 15 and the rear leg 16 have a significantly different length along the width direction x.
  • the front leg 15 should not excessively affect the appearance of the sectional door leaf 2 on the outside.
  • the front leg 15 is therefore made comparatively short, but on the other hand certain dimensional deviations should also be compensated for when assembling the end cap 9.
  • the upper side wall section 10a overlaps the side wall section of an end cap 9 adjacent above (see Fig. 4 ) can be arranged.
  • the length l 1 of the front leg is, for example, 17.5 mm in the exemplary embodiment, with the front leg 15 being angled slightly more than 90° relative to the side wall 10 in order to also achieve a certain clamping effect relative to the front wall 11.
  • the rear leg 16 on the other hand, is made wider (see also Fig. 1 ) where the length l 2 of the rear leg 16 along the width direction x can be, for example, 73 mm.
  • the rear leg 17 is expediently designed to be so wide that the joints 3 can also be attached to the sectional door panels 1 through the fastening holes 17 of the rear leg 16.
  • the end caps 9 have a comparatively simple structure and can be particularly easily formed from sheet metal with, for example, a thickness d of 1 mm.
  • the offset 14 should be chosen so that, despite the described thickness d of the sheet, the successive end caps 9 can be arranged in the manner described with an overlap on the tooth-shaped projection 7 or the indentation 8.
  • the offset 14 can be, for example, x 2 mm along the width direction.
  • the upper side wall sections 10a have a bevel 18 at their upper end in the direction of the tooth-shaped projection 7 underneath.
  • an angle can be provided as a bevel 18, which encloses an angle between typically 10° and 45° with respect to the vertical direction z.
  • the panel thickness D can be chosen differently within the scope of the invention. Panel thicknesses between 18 mm and 80 mm are typical. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the panel thickness D measured at the end caps 9 is, for example, approximately 70 mm.
  • the front leg 15 extends from a lower end of the end caps 9 to just before the offset 14, while the rear leg 16 is designed to be shorter.
  • the shorter version of the rear leg 16 is particularly intended to arrange the joints 3 with their axis of rotation offset into the sectional door leaf 2.
  • both the rear leg 16 and the front leg 15 end in front of the offset 14, this can be formed in a particularly simple manner in the otherwise essentially flat side wall 10 by sheet metal forming.
