- U.S. 2018/120055 A1 discloses a generic device for adjusting a stock part on a rifle stock with a rod-shaped guide element arranged on the stock part and guided displaceably in a receptacle and with an adjustment mechanism.
- the adjustment mechanism contains a slide-shaped holding element assigned to the guide element, with an upper operating part for moving the holding element between a holding position for fixing the guide element in place and a release position for adjusting the guide element.
- the extension movement of the guide element can be limited by a stop part that can be fastened to the rod-shaped guide element.
- the object of the invention is to create a device for adjusting a stock part on a rifle stock and a rifle stock with such a device that allow the stock part to be positioned in an easily adjustable position.
- the device according to the invention for adjusting a stock part on a rifle stock contains at least one guide element which is arranged on the stock part and is movably guided in a receptacle and an adjustment mechanism which has at least one holding element assigned to the guide element and an operating element for moving the holding element between a holding position for fixing the guide element and has a release position for adjusting the guide element.
- the at least one guide element is assigned a position-adjustable stop element for limiting the extension movement of the guide element.
- the stop element can be moved by the operating element provided for moving the at least one holding element into an unlocking position for adjusting the position of the stop element. As a result, the position of the shaft element can be adjusted and the stop element can be adjusted with a single operating element.
- the stop element can be pressed into a locking position on the at least one guide element by a spring-loaded pressure piece.
- the adjusting mechanism expediently contains a safety device which allows the stop element to be adjusted only when the stop element is in contact with the receptacle. As a result, the stop can only be adjusted in a predetermined position of the shaft part, e.g. in a fully extended position.
- a particularly stable guidance of the adjustable shaft element can be achieved by arranging on the shaft part two parallel guide elements that are displaceably guided in guide openings of the receptacle.
- only one guide element can also be provided.
- the guide element is expediently designed in the form of a rod or column. However, other shapes are also possible.
- the operating element can expediently be adjusted between an initial position for fixing the at least one guide element, an unlocking position for adjusting the at least one guide element and an adjustment position for adjusting the stop element.
- the control element can be pressed into the starting position by two springs with different spring stiffness and can be designed, for example, as a pressure piece or folding lever.
- a particularly secure fixing of the guide elements in a desired position can be achieved in that the holding element is designed for positive engagement on the at least one guide element.
- the holding element can, for example, have teeth for engaging in locking grooves on the guide element.
- the stop element can contain a locking edge for positive engagement with the at least one guide element.
- the locking edge can, for example, engage in the locking grooves or incisions on the guide element.
- the guide element can be prestressed by a compression spring and pressed in the extension direction. This allows the shaft member to extend automatically when the lock is released.
- the adjustment mechanism can contain two block-shaped holding elements, which can be adjusted in opposite directions to one another by a drive, for engagement with two guide elements that are parallel to one another.
- the adjusting mechanism can also have a plate-shaped holding element which can be rotated about a guide rod.
- the invention also relates to a rifle stock which contains a device as described above for adjusting a butt plate and/or a comb.
- FIG. 1 to 4 a first exemplary embodiment of a device for adjusting a stock part on a rifle stock is shown in various views.
- This exemplary embodiment is designed for adjusting a butt plate and has a mount 1 which can be fastened to the rear of a rifle stock and has two guide openings 2 parallel to one another for the displaceable guide of two guide elements 3 in the form of rods or columns.
- a plate-shaped shaft part 4 for releasably holding a shaft cap (not shown here) is fastened to the outer ends of the two guide elements 3 that project rearwardly in relation to the receptacle 1 .
- the two guide elements 3 can also be arranged directly on a recoil pad.
- the receptacle 1 is designed as an insert for mounting in a corresponding opening at the rear end of a rifle stock and has continuous receptacle openings 5 above and below the guide openings 2 for fastening screws for releasably holding the receptacle 1 on the rifle stock.
- the latching grooves 6 are arranged on the underside of the upper guide element 3 and on the upper side of the lower guide element 3 .
- the two rod-shaped or column-shaped guide elements 3 At their inner ends, which are arranged within the receptacle 1, the two rod-shaped or column-shaped guide elements 3 have an annular collar 8, which is enlarged in diameter, as an end stop.
- the adjustment mechanism 7 arranged within the receptacle 1 comprises two block-shaped holding elements 10 and 11 which can be adjusted in opposite directions to one another and which can be adjusted via a drive which can be actuated by means of an operating element 12 between a compressed release position and a pressed-apart holding position.
- the two holding elements 10 and 11 arranged between the guide elements 3 have teeth 13 on their outsides facing the guide elements 3 for engagement with the latching grooves 6 of the guide elements 3 .
- the drive for adjusting the two holding elements 10 and 11 contains a drive element 14 which can be rotated by the operating element 12 and has a control part 15 which is arranged between the two holding elements 10 and 11 and interacts with them and which rotates the two holding elements 10 and 11 apart or apart be moved together.
- the two holding elements 10 and 11 are prestressed outwards into the holding position by compression springs 16 clamped between them.
- the operating element 12 is designed as a folding lever that can be pivoted between a lower starting position, a middle unlocking position and an upper setting position.
- the operating element 12 designed as a folding lever is connected to the drive element 12 arranged rotatably in the receptacle 1 in such a way that the two holding elements 10 and 11 are moved by the control part 15 from the holding position pressed apart into the released position pressed together when the operating element 12 designed as a folding lever is switched off the lower starting position is folded up into a predetermined unlocking position.
- the stop element 17 which is designed in the form of a plate here, engages with an annular upper part 18 in incisions 19 on the upper side of the upper rod-shaped guide element 3 .
- the plate-shaped stop element 17 is slidably guided on the lower guide element 3 by a fork-shaped lower part 20 .
- the stop element 17 is moved downwards via a pressure piece 22 which is slidably arranged in the plate-shaped stop element 17 and is prestressed by a compression spring 21 pressed so that the annular upper part 18 of the stop element 17 engages in one of the notches 19 in the upper guide element 3 and the fork-shaped lower part 20 in one of the latching grooves 6 on the lower guide element 3 and the stop element 17 is thus in a specific locking position on the guide elements 3 is held. If the lever-shaped operating element 12 is folded up from the starting position into the unlocking position and the locking is thereby released by moving the two holding elements 10 and 11 together, the shaft element 4 can be pulled out manually until the stop element 17 comes into contact with the receptacle 1.
- the stop element 17 In order to adjust the stop element 17 , it must be pushed upwards against the force of the pressure piece 22 acted upon by the compression spring 21 . This is done by a control cam 23 provided on the inner end face of the drive piece 14, which is designed to engage in an opening 25 of the stop element 17 provided with a control surface 24 and contains a lateral contact surface 26 for contact with the control surface 24 of the stop element 17.
- the shaft element 4 In order to adjust the stop element 17 , the shaft element 4 must first be pulled out completely into the extended position so that the control cam 23 provided on the inner end of the drive piece 14 engages in the opening 25 of the stop element 17 .
- the operating element 12 For this purpose, the operating element 12 must first be folded up from the lower starting position into the unlocking position, so that the two holding elements 10 and 11 reach the release position.
- the cross-section shown through the receptacle 1 in the area of the control part 15 shows that the control part 15 of the drive element 14, which is arranged between the holding elements 10 and 11, is a transverse piece with an upper contact surface 27 for contact with a downward-pointing mating surface 28 of the lower holding element 10 and a lower contact surface 29 is designed to rest against an upward-pointing mating surface 30 of the upper holding element 11 .
- the lower holding element 10 is thus adjusted according to FIG figure 4 pressed upwards by the upper contact surface 27 and the upper holding element 11 is pressed downwards by the lower contact surface 29 .
- the locking of the two rod-shaped guide elements 3 can be released and the two guide elements 3 with the shaft part 4 can be pulled out to the rear.
- a locking pin 31 that can be displaced parallel to the guide elements 3 is arranged in the upper holding element 11 .
- the locking pin 31, which is acted upon by a spring, can be displaced within the upper holding element 11 between a pushed-in release position and an extended locking position. In the extended locking position of the locking pin 31, the downward movement of the upper holding element 11 and thus the pivoting movement of the operating element 12 is limited by this.
- the locking pin 31 can be displaced by the stop element 17 via a signal pin 32 that is displaceably guided within the receptacle 1 .
- the locking pin 31 is only moved into the depressed release position via the signal pin 32 when the stop element 17 comes to rest against the receptacle 1 .
- the operating element 12 Only in this position can the operating element 12 be folded further upwards beyond the middle unlocking position into the upper setting position for adjusting the stop element 17 .
- the signal pin 32 protrudes from the receptacle 1 and is not pressed in by the stop element 17, the locking pin 31 is also pressed into the extended locking position by a spring, so that the downward movement of the upper holding element 11 is limited and the operating element 12 can only be used as far as the upper release position can be moved. This ensures that the stop element 17 can only be adjusted when the shaft element 4 is in the fully extended position.
- FIG 5 a second embodiment of a device for adjusting a stock part on a rifle stock is shown in different views.
- This device is designed for adjusting a cheek piece and also has a receptacle 35 which can be inserted into a rifle stock and has two guide openings 36 parallel to one another for the displaceable guide of two guide elements 37 in the form of rods or columns.
- the receptacle 35 shown here is designed for use in a corresponding opening on the top of a rifle stock.
- a plate-shaped shaft part 38 is fastened to the outer ends of the two guide elements 3 that protrude outwards in relation to the receptacle 1 .
- a cheek piece 39 can be mounted on this height-adjustable shaft part 38 .
- the two rod- or column-shaped guide elements 37 are each arranged displaceably on a guide rod 40 and are each biased upwards by a compression spring 41 clamped between the guide element 37 and the guide rod 40 and pressed in the extension direction.
- a central guide rod 42 arranged between the two guide elements 37 is fastened to the underside of the shaft part 38 .
- the central guide rod 42 is slidably guided within the receptacle 35 in a rod guide 43 arranged between the two guide openings 36 .
- the outside of the guide elements 37 has a plurality of latching grooves 44 spaced apart from one another in the axial direction for engagement with an adjustment mechanism 45 which will be explained in more detail below.
- the latching grooves 44 are provided on the left-hand side of the rear guide element 37, viewed in the firing direction, and on the right-hand side of the front guide element 37, viewed in the firing direction.
- the adjustment mechanism 45 comprises a plate-shaped holding element 46, here designed as a stamped and bent part made of sheet metal, which is arranged such that it can rotate about the guide rod 42 and can be moved from a holding position with a form-fitting engagement on the locking grooves 44 of the guide elements 37 into a release position by an operating element 47, designed here as a push button for shifting the guide elements 37 is movable.
- the operating element 47 designed as a push button is pressed outwards by a spring 48 and is connected in an articulated manner to the plate-shaped holding element 46 via a pin 49 .
- the holding element 46 which can be rotated about the guide rod 42 is arranged in a corresponding transverse slot 50 of the receptacle 35 and has two through-openings 51 and 52 for the guide elements 37 in the form of rods or columns.
- the holding element 46 which can be rotated about the guide rod 42, has the two through-openings 51 and 52 for the rod-shaped or column-shaped guide elements 37 and is designed in such a way that, in the clamping position, a locking edge 53 or 54 provided on the through-openings 51 and 52 can be inserted into the into the in figure 5 engages in the locking grooves 44 of the guide elements 37 shown, while the locking edges 53 or 54 disengage from the locking grooves 44 of the guide elements 37 when the operating element 47 is pressed in and the holding element 46 pivots as a result, thereby enabling the shaft part 38 to be adjusted.
- one of the guide elements 37 has an in figure 5 shown stop element 55 provided to limit the extension movement.
- the stop element 55 comes into contact with the receptacle 35.
- the block-shaped stop element 55 which is composed here of two housing parts 56 and 57, there is a plate-shaped pressure piece 58 that can be pivoted about an axis.
- the stop element 55 is held in a desired position on the guide element 37 by the pressure piece 58 acted upon by a compression spring 59 .
- the pressure piece 58 is designed here for positive engagement on the guide element 37 and has a locking edge 60 for engagement in the latching grooves 44 on the guide element 37 .
- the pressure piece 58 can be rotated against the force of the compression spring 59 by pressing the operating element 47 further from the tab 62 on the holding element 46 so that the locking edge 60 disengages from the Locking groove 44 comes on the guide element 37 and so the stop element 55 reaches an unlocked position.
- the pressure piece 58 engages in an undercut on the receptacle 35 so that its position relative to the receptacle 35 is fixed. Then the position of the stop element 55 relative to the guide element 37 can be adjusted. By releasing the operating element 47, the pressure piece 58 latches in the new position on the guide element 37 and the stop element 55 is repositioned. In this version, too, the setting of the stop element 55 only take place when the shaft part 38 is extended until the stop element 55 rests against the receptacle 35 .
- the control element 47 designed here as a push button, can be adjusted between a non-depressed starting position for fixing the guide element 37, a partially depressed unlocking position for adjusting the guide element 37 and a fully depressed setting position for setting the stop element 55.
- the operating element 47 next to the compression spring 48 has an in figure 6 shown second compression spring 63 arranged with different spring constants.
- the stronger compression spring 63 is clamped between the operating element 47 and a spring tensioner 64.
- the spring deflection of the compression spring 63 is limited by the spring tensioner 64 that can be displaced relative to the operating element 47 .
- the operating element 47 embodied as a push button can therefore only be pressed in slightly until the spring tensioner 64 is in contact with the receptacle 35 .
- the holding element 46 is pivoted out so far that the guide elements 37 are unlocked and the stock part 38 with the comb 39 can be extended.
- the operating element 47 In order to fully depress the operating element 47 for adjusting the stop element 55 , the operating element 47 must then be pressed against both compression springs 48 and 63 .
- FIG 7 is a 65 rifle stock with a in the Figures 1 to 4 shown device for adjusting a recoil pad 66 and in the Figures 5 and 6 shown device for adjusting the cheek piece 39 shown.
- the recoil pad 66 is on the in figure 1 shown shaft part 4 releasably attached.
