Definitions

  • the invention relates to a coin store comprising a housing and a plurality of coin tubes which are exchangeably arranged in the housing.
  • Such coin tubes which are regularly designed as hollow cylinders, each receive coins of a certain diameter, stacked one on top of the other.
  • Known coin stores have, for example, six coin tubes arranged along a U-shape or otherwise in a housing of the coin store.
  • the coin stores are used, for example, in money changers, which in turn can be used, for example, in vending machines such as ticket or gaming machines or the like. They have a payout module with which coins can be paid out from the coin tubes. They also have a coin slot, a coin validator and a coin sorting device with which the inserted coins can be assigned to the respective coin tubes.
  • a coin return channel for returning false coins and a cash register channel for accepting coins outside the coin tubes, e.g. provided with full coin tubes.
  • Coin storage with exchangeable coin tubes are known from, for example U.S. 5,400,891 A or U.S. 5,944,601 A .
  • the in U.S. 5,400,891 A described coin storage the coin tubes are held by a press fit in the housing. This can make the assembly complex.
  • the in U.S. 5,944,601 A described coin storage lock the tubes together and are used as a whole in a housing of a money changer.
  • This coin storage is complex to assemble and does not offer a safe and reliably controllable locking.
  • the flexibility in terms of The arrangement of different coin tubes is limited.
  • Further coin stores are known from, for example U.S. 4,221,227 A , U.S. 4,250,905 A , U.S. 5,011,456 A , U.S. 8,262,441 A , US 2017/345242 A1 , EP0924660A2 .
  • Coin stores described in the prior art often only allow coin tubes to be exchanged with the aid of a tool. This requires specially trained personnel and makes the exchange of coin tubes complex. Furthermore, there is often a lack of reliable monitoring of the correct positioning and locking of the coin tubes. Finally, the flexibility with regard to the arrangement of large-diameter coin tubes in particular is limited in the prior art.
  • the dimensions of the outer housing of money changers are standardized and accordingly cannot be changed without massive restriction of their usability in commercially available vending machines. This consequently also restricts the housing dimensions of coin stores accordingly. For example, in the case of an arrangement of six coin tubes positioned along a U-shape, coin tubes of large diameter bear against one another and against inner surfaces of the housing.
  • the locking methods for the coin tubes described in the prior art cannot regularly be used with such large coin tubes.
  • the invention is based on the object of providing a coin store of the type mentioned above, with which a simple and reliably controllable proper assembly of the coin tubes is ensured with the greatest possible flexibility with regard to the size and arrangement of the coin tubes.
  • the invention solves the problem in that locking means are provided for the coin tubes, which can be actuated between a locking position that locks the coin tubes against removal from the housing and an unlocking position that enables the coin tubes to be removed from the housing, wherein the locking means are each arranged between two adjacent coin tubes in the housing and in the locking position lock the adjacent coin tubes against removal from the housing, and that the locking means can only assume the locking position when the adjacent coin tubes are completely inserted into the housing.
  • the locking means can be provided on the housing.
  • the coin store forms a storage cassette. It can be used, for example, in money changers of vending machines, such as ticket machines, slot machines or the like.
  • the money changer has a main housing, the dimensions of which are standardized.
  • the coin storage unit forms a module which, pre-assembled as a whole, can be inserted into and removed from the main housing of a money changer.
  • the space available for the coin storage is thus derived from the dimensions of the main housing minus the space required by other modules of the changer, such as the payout module or the coin sorting unit.
  • the coin store can, for example, have six coin tubes arranged in the housing along a U-shape.
  • the coin tubes are each designed as a hollow cylinder with open end faces and hold coins of a certain diameter stacked on top of one another in the form of coin columns. Depending on A different inner tube diameter is provided for the coin diameter.
  • the outside diameter of the coin tubes is usually about 3 mm larger than the inside diameter.
  • the housing may have a frame portion and a base portion. These can be connected to one another in one piece or be separate and, for example, releasably connectable sections.
  • the detachable connection can be made, for example, by screwing or locking.
  • the frame section can have the locking means according to the invention for locking the coin tubes.
  • the frame section can have a bottom section and a wall section for holding the coin tubes.
  • the base section can be used for radial positioning of the coin tubes and as a support surface for the coin columns held in the coin tubes that are open at the bottom.
  • a handle (latch) for holding the coin storage device can be provided on the housing. The coin store can be inserted into and removed from the main housing of a money changer via this handle.
  • the housing can have a front cover that can cover a coin return channel, for example.
  • the front cover can, for example, also cover the locking means of two adjacent coin tubes, for example the coin tubes arranged on the base of a U-shape.
  • the front cover can be releasably connectable to the remaining housing part or the remaining housing parts, for example by latching.
  • the coin tubes are inserted into the housing from above in the desired position. They can take their final mounting position by gravity.
  • locking means are provided which can be actuated between a locking position and an unlocking position, in particular are movable. In the locked position, the coin tubes are secured against being pulled out of the housing axially. In the unlocked position, however, the coin tubes can be removed from the housing in the axial direction, for example to exchange for other coin tubes.
  • the locking position of the locking means the axial position of the coin tubes inserted completely into the housing is reliably defined and can be checked in a simple manner. This is achieved in that the locking means can only assume their locking position when the coin tubes are completely inserted into the housing.
  • This essentially play-free axial arrangement of the coin tubes is of crucial importance for a reliable dispensing of coins by a payout module.
  • the manual actuation of the locking means which is possible according to the invention, enables the coin tubes arranged in the housing to be exchanged simply and quickly and without tools.
  • the locking means are each arranged (in particular in the middle) between two adjacent coin tubes.
  • the free space formed between the adjacent tubes in the case of cylindrical coin tubes is thus used for the locking.
  • This free space is delimited between the cylindrical outer surfaces of the coin tubes and, for example, a housing wall which delimits the arrangement of the coin tubes from the outside, when the adjacent coin tubes essentially abut one another.
  • adjacent coin tubes can on the one hand be arranged essentially adjacent to one another.
  • the outer diameter of the coin tubes can extend to the inner surface of a housing wall delimiting the housing.
  • the coin storage according to the invention thus allows the combination of the large coin capacity of a six-chamber coin storage with the greatest possible combinability of the tube diameter, which ensures optimal coverage of the market-relevant coin diameter spectrum, and at the same time easy exchange of the coin tubes with secure and controllable locking in the properly mounted position.
  • the locking means can each be arranged and designed symmetrically with respect to adjacent coin tubes. This further simplifies the exchangeability of the coin tubes.
  • a geometry of the coin tubes that interacts with the locking means, for example guide projections or the like, can be correspondingly symmetrical.
  • the locking means can comprise at least one locking lever pivotable on the housing between the locking position and the unlocking position.
  • several locking levers can be provided.
  • a locking lever locks two adjacent coin tubes.
  • So n / 2 locking levers can be provided, where n is the number of coin tubes in the housing. For example, with six coin tubes there can be three on the housing Locking lever may be provided.
  • the at least one locking lever is held captive on the housing. It can have a T-shaped locking section. The roof section of the T-shape can then rest on corresponding locking projections of two adjacent coin tubes and thus secure the coin tubes against being axially pulled out of the housing.
  • the at least one locking lever can lock in the locking position on locking surfaces of the housing, for example a frame section of the housing, and thus lock the adjacent coin tubes against being removed from the housing. This results in a particularly secure locking.
  • the at least one locking lever for exchanging coin tubes can be released in a simple manner and without tools.
  • the coin tubes can each comprise at least one locking projection on their outer circumference, the at least one locking lever resting on locking projections of adjacent coin tubes in the locking position. As a result of this resting on the locking projections, the at least one locking lever secures adjacent coin tubes against axial loosening from the housing. In particular, when a plurality of locking levers are provided, these rest on the locking projections of adjacent coin tubes.
  • the at least one locking lever can be pivotably mounted on the housing by means of a latching connection. In this way, a particularly simple initial assembly of the at least one locking lever on the housing is achieved. After the initial assembly, it can remain permanently arranged on the housing.
  • the at least one locking lever can terminate flush with a surface of the housing surrounding the locking lever only in the locking position.
  • the locking lever does not (only) protrude beyond the housing in the locked position.
  • lateral outer walls of the housing in the case of a U-shaped arrangement of the coin tubes, that is, lateral outer walls arranged on the legs of the U-shape, are usually flush with the inner walls of a main housing, e.g. The aforementioned configuration ensures that the coin store can only be installed in the changer when the coin tubes are properly locked.
  • a housing surface on a base side of a U-shaped arrangement of coin tubes provided that a front cover of the housing is also mounted on this base side.
  • This can be designed in such a way that it in turn rests flush against the underlying housing surface surrounding the locking lever, so that the front cover can again only be attached when the coin tubes are properly locked. A particularly high level of installation security is thus achieved.
  • guide means can be provided for guiding the coin tubes in the radial direction.
  • the guide means provide lateral guidance for the coin tubes when they are inserted into the housing.
  • they secure the coin tubes in the radial direction in their inserted position in the housing. It is thus sufficient if the locking means only provide a safeguard for the coin tubes against being pulled out in the axial direction. Lateral loosening from their respective position can be prevented by the guide means.
  • a particularly simplified assembly and positioning is achieved by the guide means.
  • the guide means can comprise guide projections on the coin tubes and guide webs corresponding to the guide projections on the housing.
  • the guide projections slide in the guide webs so that particularly reliable guidance is guaranteed during assembly. In the interlocking state of the guide projections and guide webs, in particular a safeguard against radial movement of the coin tubes is achieved.
  • at least some guide projections can have guide grooves that interact with the guide webs.
  • the guide projections can have stop surfaces with which they stop in the position completely inserted into the housing on corresponding contact surfaces of the housing. As a result, the end position of the coin tubes fully inserted into the housing is reliably defined.
  • the coin tubes can each have an upper guide projection in the area of their upper end and a lower guide projection in the area of their lower end.
  • Corresponding upper and lower guide webs can be formed on the housing. This results in a further improved guidance and thereby a further simplified assembly.
  • the side securing of the coin tubes in the assembled state is further improved.
  • the lower guide projections of the coin tubes first engage in the upper and / or lower guide webs of the housing.
  • the upper guide projections then engage in the upper guide webs.
  • the upper guide projection can simultaneously form the locking projection.
  • the insertion of the coin tubes into the housing can be further facilitated if at least the lower guide webs have insertion bevels for the lower guide projections.
  • the guide means can further comprise centering pins and centering receptacles formed on the underside of the coin tubes and on an associated bottom side of the housing, the centering pins and the centering receptacles interlocking when the coin tubes are fully inserted into the housing.
  • centering pins or two centering receptacles can be formed on the underside of the coin tubes.
  • Two centering receptacles or two centering pins are then correspondingly formed on the facing bottom side of the housing.
  • the centering pins and the centering mounts ensure the correct rotational position of the coin tubes and their fine centering in the housing.
  • Centering pins and centering receptacles have corresponding geometries, for example they are each cylindrical.
  • the coin tubes which can be used in the coin store according to the invention can have different inside diameters, preferably in the range from 17 mm to 33 mm, and the coin tubes can be arranged in different positions in the housing.
  • the diameter range from 17 mm to 33 mm covers the common, market-relevant currencies. Since the coin tubes can be arranged flexibly in different positions and thus interchangeably in the housing, the greatest possible flexibility is achieved for the user. This can be ensured in particular by the fact that the radial distance between the guide projections and the tube central axis is the same for each coin tube. This relates in particular to the radial distance between the sections of the guide projections that participate in the guidance and locking. For example, a portion with which the guide protrusions on the outer surface of the Coin tubes are tied up and have different lengths depending on the coin tube diameter. This configuration enables reliable guidance and locking to be ensured for every coin diameter in every position in the housing.
  • the invention also relates to a money changer, comprising a main housing and a coin store according to the invention inserted into the main housing.
  • the money changer can be used, for example, in vending machines such as ticket machines or slot machines or the like. As already explained, it has a payout module with which coins can be paid out from the respective coin tubes.
  • the money changer has, in a manner known per se, a coin slot with subsequent coin checking and coin sorting, which sorts the inserted coins into the respective coin tubes depending on their size.
  • the money changer can also have a return channel for returning rejected coins.
  • the money changer can have a cash register channel which is used to feed accepted coins into a cash register. This cash register as part of the vending machine is used for the (unsorted) storage of coins, e.g. when the coin tubes are completely full.
  • FIG 1 shows a money changer with a main housing 10, which can be used, for example, in vending machines such as ticket machines, gaming machines or the like.
  • the changer has a coin slot 12 and an in Figure 1 Essentially concealed coin checking device with subsequent coin sorting device, which depending on their nominal value or diameter, the inserted coins into the coin tubes 14 of the in Figure 1 at the reference numeral 16 shown coin store sorted.
  • An in Figure 1 The payout module, not shown in detail, serves to pay out coins from the coin tubes 14 via a coin dispenser.
  • the changer has a coin return channel through which rejected coins can be ejected, and a cash register channel through which coins can be fed to a cash register. This structure and this function of a money changer are known per se.
  • the coin store 16 has a housing 18 in which, in the example shown, six coin tubes 14 arranged along a U-shape are arranged. Coins are held stacked on top of one another in the hollow cylindrical coin tubes 14.
  • the housing 18 is inserted into the main housing 10 of the money changer and can be held in this, for example, by locking. Depending on the diameter, the coin tubes 14 can lie against one another and on inner surfaces of the housing 18 be arranged adjacent.
  • the housing 18 has a frame section 20 and a base section 22, which can be connected to one another, for example, by screwing.
  • the housing 18 has a front cover 24 which can be fastened to the frame section 20, for example, by latching.
  • levers 26 are provided in the example shown, each of which is pivotably mounted in a lever mount 28 of the housing 18 by means of a latching connection, as will be explained in more detail below.
  • the lever receptacle 28 provided on the base side of the U-shape of the coin tubes 14 and with it the corresponding locking lever 26 held therein are covered by the front cover 24 in the assembled state.
  • the inside of the front cover 24 is flush with the housing surface 30 surrounding this lever receptacle 28.
  • the lateral outer walls 32 of the housing 18, which have the two further lever receptacles 28, lie flush against the facing inner sides 34 of the main housing 10 in the assembled state in the main housing 10.
  • the reference numeral 36 shows a handle (latch) for carrying the coin store and for locking the coin store in its lower end position.
  • the coin tubes 14 each have an upper guide projection 38 and a lower guide projection 40.
  • the upper guide projection 38 has a tube-side guide groove 42 on both sides.
  • the lower guide projection 40 has a tube-side guide web 44 on both sides.
  • Upper housing-side guide webs 46 corresponding to the tube-side guide grooves 42 of the upper guide projections 38 are provided on the housing 18.
  • housing-side guide webs 48 that correspond to the tube-side guide webs 44 of the lower guide projections 40 are also formed on the base section 22 of the housing 18. The lower tube-side guide webs 44 are guided between these housing-side guide webs 48 and the respective adjoining inner surface of the outer wall 32.
