Definitions
- the invention relates to a seat shell, comprising a one-piece molded wood shell with a seat part and a back part according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a one-piece seat shell with a back part and a seat surface is known.
- the known seat shell consists of a resilient material in order to enable the flexibility of the back part of the seat shell that is required for comfortable sitting.
- the back of the seat shell can consequently pivot slightly under load from a person leaning against it, although the supporting effect of the seat shell in the area of the person's spine should have sufficient stability.
- the well-known seat shell is a shaped wooden plate made of several layers of wood glued together crosswise. It can be surface treated with a suitable lacquer or provided with upholstery.
- a lacquered seat shell has the following veneer structure. It has a cover layer, which consists of a wood layer in the longitudinal direction, which is glued to a transverse layer, the longitudinal layer before pressing is sanded. This cover layer is arranged on both sides of the seat shell. Between the top layers there are two lengthways veneers glued to each other on both sides and a transverse layer is provided in the neutral zone of the shell.
- the longitudinal layers preferably have a thickness of 1.5 mm and the transverse layers a thickness of 1.1 mm.
- a shell which is padded throughout, preferably consists of two longitudinal veneers, one transverse veneer, two longitudinal veneers, one transverse veneer and two longitudinal veneers, the longitudinal veneer having a thickness of 1.5 mm and the transverse veneer a thickness of 1.1 mm.
- the disadvantage is that the seating comfort is not sufficient for sitting comfortably.
- the scale-like protrusion of segments leads to an undesirable compression of over-padding.
- the object of the invention is therefore to create a seat shell according to the preamble of claim 1 which has good flexibility for comfortable sitting and at the same time adequately supports the spine when leaning back.
- a seat shell which comprises a one-piece or one-piece molded wood shell with a seat part, a back part and a curved transition area connecting the seat part and the back part.
- a molded wood shell is preferably ergonomically shaped and can be fastened individually or in a number to a frame (not shown).
- Suspension properties of the back part compared to an angled seat part connected to the back part are essentially determined by the curved transition area and its structural design.
- the molded wood shell has a transverse cutout in the transition area and / or the back part delimited by webs on the edge, which is padded as an opening or as a transverse slot.
- the opening promotes a cleaning effect for objects placed on the seat, such as, for example, beverage cans, which can fall off via the opening acting as a penetration opening. This largely avoids accidental placing on third-party objects. Furthermore, a ventilation effect is generated that improves seating comfort.
- the spring action in interaction with the cutout is improved by a veneer structure with at least nine wood layers, which in the middle realizes a quasi sandwich structure through at least two middle wood layers in the transverse direction, between which at least one middle wood layer is arranged in the longitudinal direction, and the at least two middle wood layers have a greater thickness in the transverse direction than the outer wood layers in the transverse direction.
- the at least two middle wood layers in the transverse direction of greater thickness increase the overall structure and the rigidity of the shell in such a way that the cutout is bridged, whereby the outer wood layers move further away from the core and are therefore exposed to higher tensile and compressive loads. This can be compensated for by outer layers of wood in the transverse and longitudinal directions.
- the veneer structure according to the invention enables an upholstered seat shell to offer comparable seating comfort with flexibility, regardless of whether the cutout is free-standing or upholstered. If the visual impression is different, a user can be provided with a seat with essentially the same seating comfort - with or without a reach-through opening. This also applies if the seat shell is exposed to high loads due to use. Further refinements of the invention can be found in the following description and the subclaims.
- FIGS. 1 to 3 show, the invention relates to a seat shell with a one-piece molded wood shell 1.
- the molded wood shell 1 is formed with a seat part 2 and a back part 3, which has a bend along a bending axis in its transition area 4.
- the back part 3 can have a contour adapted to the human spine.
- Fig. 3 shows a curvature of the back part 3 via an arrow.
- the molded wood shell 1 has a veneer structure made up of several wood layers 10 to 15 glued to one another, as shown below FIGS. 7 to 10 will be described in detail below.
- This veneer structure comprises a top layer 15 made of a wood layer in the longitudinal direction at the front and rear of the molded wood shell 1.
- a number of middle and outer wood layers 10 to 14 are arranged in the longitudinal or transverse direction between the cover layers 15.
- the molded wood shell 1 is upholstered as described below.
- the molded wood shell 1 has a transverse cutout 6 delimited by webs 5 on the edge, which is formed in the transition area 4 and / or the back part 3.
- the cutout 6 is designed as a breakthrough, preferably extending into the back part 3, to form, for example, a passage opening.
- the cutout 6 is preferably designed as a rectangular opening 7 with a length that is 50 to 70% of the shell width in the region of the cutout 6.
- the cutout 6 can have a width that is 20 to 40% of the length of the cutout 6. If the molded wood shell 1 is over-upholstered to form the seat shell, such a cutout 6 is preferably upholstered in a free-standing manner and thus remains as free space for over-upholstery.
- FIGS. 4 to 6 show a second exemplary embodiment with a cutout 6, which can be upholstered to cover the molded wood shell 1 if the molded wood shell 1 is completely covered.
- the cutout 6 is preferably formed by a transverse slot 8 in the form of a double T-beam.
- the contour of such a transverse slot 8 is similar to the contour of a rectangular opening 7, whereby comparable material recesses are created in the core of the molded wood shell 1 with similar effects on the flexibility in the structure of the molded wood shell 1 under load.
- the positioning of the rectangular opening 7 or the transverse slot 8 as a cutout 6 in the structure of the molded wood shell 1 is preferably the same.
- fastening holes 9 for attaching brackets (not shown) for a foot or a pedestal (not shown) can be provided.
- the veneer structure comprises at least nine wood layers 10 to 15 with at least two middle wood layers 11 in the transverse direction, between which at least one middle wood layer 10 is arranged in the longitudinal direction, and the at least two middle wood layers 11 in the transverse direction have a greater thickness than outer wood layers 14 in the transverse direction and / or possibly outer wood layers 12, 13, 15 in Longitudinal direction.
- At least two outer wood layers 12, 13 glued to one another can lie in the longitudinal direction, as in FIG Fig. 7 shown.
- the two cover layers 15 can each comprise at least two wood layers glued to one another in the longitudinal direction.
- the grain of a wood layer 10, 12, 13, 15 in the longitudinal direction preferably runs parallel to the seat pan mirror plane, and the grain of a wood layer 11, 14 in the transverse direction preferably runs transversely to the seat pan mirror plane for crosswise gluing.
- the thickness of the middle wood layers 11 in the transverse direction is preferably 1.4 to 1.8 mm, particularly preferably 1.5 mm, while the thickness of the middle wood layer 10 in the longitudinal direction is preferably 1.0 to 1.3 mm, especially is preferably 1.2 mm.
- the one middle layer of wood 10 in the longitudinal direction can be designed with two layers, as in FIG Fig. 8 is shown.
- the thickness of outer wood layers 14 in the transverse direction and of outer wood layers 12, 13, 15 in the longitudinal direction can be in the range from 1.0 to 1.3 mm, particularly preferably 1.2 mm.
- the thickness of the outer wood layers 12, 13, 15 in the longitudinal direction is preferably the same as the thickness of the outer wood layers 14 in the transverse direction.
- the thicknesses of the inner 10 and outer 12, 13, 15 wood layers can also be made the same in the longitudinal direction.
- Textile structures made of plastic fibers can be inserted between layers of wood 10 to 15 for reinforcement.
- the arrangement of wood layers 11 to 15 is preferably provided on both sides in a mirror-inverted manner symmetrically to at least one central wood layer 10 in the longitudinal direction.
- the thickness (s) of one or more of the wood layers 10 to 15 is reduced in the direction of the upper and / or lower edge of the molded wood shell 1 compared to the transition region 4.
- FIGS. 7 to 10 The veneer structure of the molded wood shell 1 from several preferably crosswise glued together wood layers is shown in FIGS. 7 to 10 in detail as follows.
- the middle wood layer 11 follows in the transverse direction, two outer wood layers 12, 13 in the longitudinal direction, an outer wood layer 14 in the transverse direction and a top layer 15 as the outer wood layer in the longitudinal direction. This sequence of veneers is glued.
- the middle wood layer 11 follows in the transverse direction, two outer wood layers 12, 13 in the longitudinal direction, an outer wood layer 14 in the transverse direction and a top layer 15 as the outer wood layer in the longitudinal direction.
- This veneer structure is glued.
- the edges of the molded wood shell 1 can be provided with a bevel.
- Fig. 10 follow starting from a middle layer of wood 10 in the longitudinal direction on both sides the middle layer of wood 11 in the transverse direction, an outer layer of wood 14 in the transverse direction, an outer layer of wood 12 in the longitudinal direction and a cover layer 15 as the outer layer of wood in the longitudinal direction. This sequence of veneers is glued.
- the wood layers 10 to 15 can be produced as molded plywood parts from beech.
- the molded wood shells 1 are preferably covered with full upholstery, with the opening 7 remaining as free space, while the transverse slot 8 is upholstered to adapt to the comfort of the seat.
- the seat shell with the molded wood shell 1 can be provided as part of a chair or a bench, with a number of seat shells being able to be attached to a common frame frame in the case of a bench, as in FIG Fig. 11 shown.

- Such seat shells are preferably used in waiting areas, for example at airports, train stations, public buildings and the like, the number of seats being selectable.
- such seat shells are to be designed to be stable, in particular also because the seats are also regularly used for purposes other than sleeping or as storage for luggage and are thereby significantly stressed.
- the provided cutout 6, especially in the formation as a breakthrough, can bring the desired success of avoiding filing.
- seat shells are also used in representative areas where an attractive design is required.
Description

Fig. 7 dargestellt.
Fig. 8 dargestellt ist.
Fig. 7 bis Fig. 10 im Einzelnen wie folgt.
Fig. 11 dargestellt.
