Definitions
- the invention relates to a surfboard with a hull component with a rear mount, a drive unit that fits positively into the rear mount and a gap between the hull component and the drive unit on the underwater surface side.
- Inflatable surfboards with a drive unit are in the prior art, for example from DE 10 2015 103 503.0 known.
- the well-known surfboard has an inflatable hull component with a rear recess and a drive unit which fits positively into the rear recess and is inserted into it.
- a gap is formed between the drive unit and the fuselage component on the underwater surface side.
- the surfboard powered by the drive unit can reach significant speeds of 25 knots and more while driving. This creates a water flow along the underwater surface of the surfboard and water pressure on the underwater surface of the surfboard, which forces water into the gap. This loosens the fluid connection between the hull component and the drive unit, which unnecessarily increases the water resistance of the board and significantly worsens the form fit.
- CN 205 675 195 U discloses a surfboard having a hull member and a propulsion member having an underwater floor extending the entire length of the hull.
- the CN 205 952 254 U discloses water sports equipment with a drive component that can be inserted into the hull component in a rail guide.
- the JP 2002 193185 A discloses a surfboard having a rigid hull and a drive assembly mounted on a base plate that screws into the hull.
- JP 2003 026085 A discloses a surfboard having a rigid body portion having a tubular inflatable peripheral portion and a bottom panel including an opening for a jet engine inlet.
- the jet drive can be placed on the base plate.
- the surfboard according to the invention comprises a hull component with a rear recess, a drive unit which fits positively into the rear recess and is preferably already inserted into it, and a gap between the hull component on the underwater surface side and drive unit, wherein an overlap is arranged on the underwater surface of the fuselage component, which overlap covers the gap at least in sections.
- the fuselage component has two lateral arms, which preferably enclose the drive unit in a U-shape.
- the overlap is adapted to the shape of the gap, and the overlap is therefore also U-shaped and covers at least the bow-side section of the gap.
- U-shaped is to be understood here in general.
- a U-shape means a strict U-shape, but also a shell shape, a rectangular shape or similar.
- the fuselage component is preferably designed to be inflatable. Particularly in the case of inflatable fuselage components, the penetration of water into the gap leads to a widening of the gap and an increase in the driving resistance, because the fuselage component yields somewhat under the pressure of the penetrating water.
- the fuselage component can be formed from a drop stitch material and is rigidly inflatable.
- the side walls of the fuselage component are rounded and protrude outwards, that is to say they are convex. This convex shape of the fuselage component is formed more or less automatically because air is introduced into the fuselage component under high pressure.
- the peripheral side walls of the drive unit are concave in a corresponding manner. The width and length of the drive unit are selected so that they fit into the recess with a positive fit.
- a gap between the fuselage component and the drive unit forms, particularly precisely on the underwater surface. Water is pressed into this gap while driving.
- the overlap preferably covers the entire transverse portion of the U-shaped gap and at least partially covers the U-shaped side legs of the gap.
- the overlap is connected as smoothly as possible to the underwater surface of the hull component on the edge facing away from the recess, i.e. for example bevelled, and glued or sewn directly on the edge, in particular the edge leading in the direction of travel of the surfboard, so that water does not escape even with stronger currents can penetrate between the leading edge of the overlap and the hull member and favorably the water resistance of the board is not increased by the edge.
- a detachable fastening means is arranged between an inner side of the overlap facing the drive unit and the underwater surface of the drive unit.
- “Inside” refers here and in the following to the orientation toward the drive unit or toward the U-shaped recess.
- a detachable connection for example a Velcro fastener, which interacts with a Velcro counterpart arranged on the underwater surface of the drive unit and thus also at least detachably attaches the overlap to the drive unit. This can further reduce the ingress of water and the risk of increasing the water resistance of the board due to the overlap can also be reduced.
- At least one fastening line is provided between the overlap and the fuselage component, with a nominal dimension of the fastening line of the fuselage component advantageously being larger than a nominal dimension of the fastening line of the overlap.
- the attachment lines of the fuselage component and the overlap are therefore not exactly identical, but because the attachment line of the fuselage component is slightly larger than that of the overlap, it is easy to insert the drive unit into the fuselage component when it is not inflated, and the overlap stretches smoothly , when the fuselage component is firmly inflated. This counteracts the formation of wrinkles.
- the overlap is open towards the rear end.
- the rear end open towards the overlap has the advantage that at least a small Bernoulli effect through the water flow can occur along the overlap and past the drive component, which more or less sucks water out of the gap.
- the surfboard 1 has a hull component 2 that is inflatable.
- the fuselage component 2 is formed in a substantially U-shape in a rear section.
- a drive unit 3 is placed in a U-shaped receptacle 4 of the fuselage component 2 .
- the fuselage component 2 can be made from a so-called drop stitch material.
- the drop stitch material is manufactured using the drop stitch process, in which two or more plastic fabric panels, preferably denier polyester fabric panels, are laid one on top of the other.
- the two webs of synthetic fabric are connected to one another by a large number, ie thousands, of polyester threads.
- the maximum distance between the two fabric panels is determined so that the space between the fabric panels filled with polyester can later be filled with compressed air and the fabric panels are largely parallel to one another.
- the polyester threads are sewn on both sides with the two fabric webs using a drop stitch sewing machine, for example.
- the two webs of fabric sewn together form the supporting structure, which gives the fuselage component 2 its mechanical strength in the inflated state.
- the two interconnected webs of fabric are cut to the desired shape.
- the upper and the lower web of fabric are preferably coated with PVC layers, preferably with three layers, pressed in layers and glued.
- the sides are glued with overlapping seam tape and pressed, so that the airtight fuselage component 2 is created.
- the drop stitch process makes it possible to manufacture the inflatable fuselage component 2 with excellent mechanical strength properties that withstand both high tensile and compressive and shearing loads.
- the drop stitch outer skin of the inflatable fuselage component 2 is airtight and, when inflated, extremely stable to deformation, so that a surfer can stand on the fuselage component 2 and surf while maintaining the external shape of the inflated fuselage component 2 .
- the fuselage component 2 is filled with air under high pressure. The filling can be done by means of an air pump or a compressor.
- the compressor can be fed with the electrical energy from accumulators built into the surfboard 1 .
- the hull component 2 made from the drop stitch material is preferably noise-dampening, so that the volume generated by the impact of the waves, but also by the drive, is dampened by the hull.
- the fuselage component 2 vibrates little during operation because vibrations are reduced by the drop stitch material. Since the hull member 2 is somewhat deformable, shocks from waves, etc. are advantageously absorbed.
- Another advantage over conventional surfboards 1 is that the softer torso causes fewer injuries, e.g. B. when the surfboard 1 collides with the surfer when the surfer falls.
- the rear area of the fuselage component 2 has the receptacle 4 for the drive unit 3 .
- the drive unit 3 can include a jet drive.
- the jet propulsion comprises an opening for the water inlet on an underwater surface 7 of the propulsion unit 3 and a water channel towards the rear end face of the propulsion unit 3 .
- the water outlet can be formed there by a nozzle.
- the nozzle can be pivoted or fixed.
- a rotor is provided in the water channel, which due to its high rotational speed during operation sucks water into the water channel and sprays it out backwards through the nozzle and thus gives the surfboard 1 propulsion.
- the rotor is connected via a drive train to a motor, preferably an electric motor, which can optionally be controlled via a controller and which is supplied with electricity by means of the accumulator.
- the drive unit 3 is overall interchangeable.
- the concept of the rotor is to be understood broadly here. It can be a propeller, an impeller or similar.
- a gap 6 is created between the drive unit 3 and the fuselage component 2. Since the fuselage component 2 is convex in the receptacle 4 along a side inner wall that runs approximately three quarters around the drive unit 3, an outer circumference of the drive unit 3 is indeed adapted to this contour by a concave shape in a form-fitting manner , However, this adjustment can never be done so exactly that no gap 6, in particular not directly on the water surface 7, at the butt joint between the fuselage component 2 and the drive unit 3, arises.
- the gap 6 is in the 2 exaggeratedly broad. However, the problem becomes apparent that when the surfboard 1 is being driven, water is literally pushed into the gap 6 by the flow speed. The water flow is represented by the longer arrows. A travel direction F of the surfboard 1 is represented by a wide arrow.
- the overlap 8 is a flap made of PVC, PE, PET or another plastic material, which is also essentially shown in FIG figure 5 Is U-shaped and the gap 6 at least partially covers.
- the overlap 8 can also consist of leather or other natural materials or a metal foil.
- the overlap 8 is provided in particular for a gap section 6a positioned transversely in the direction of travel F, which is located between an edge of the drive unit 3 leading in the direction of travel F and a corresponding, transverse inner wall 2a of the fuselage component 2, and completely overlaps the transverse gap section 6a.
- the flap 8 is firmly sewn, glued or welded to the fuselage component 2 .
- a welding, gluing or seam line 9 is provided for this purpose, or several of the welding, gluing or seam lines 9 are provided, which follow or follow the edge 11 of the overlap 8 facing away from the receptacle 4 .
- the edge 11 leading or running laterally to the overlap 8 in the direction of travel F is preferably beveled in the direction of travel F and glued to the hull component 2 along the entire edge 11, so that even during travel no water can get between the underwater surface 7 of the hull component 2 and the overlap 8 can penetrate, but according to the water flow 4 is deflected under the flap.
- the overlap 8 may be detachably connected to the drive unit 3 in a portion overlapping with the drive unit 3; to a Velcro 12 according to 3 or the like between the edge of the overlap 8 facing the drive unit 3 and the drive unit 3 .
- the overlap 8 is preferably in close contact with the underwater surface 7 of the drive unit 3 without any creases.
- the 6 shows the overlap 8 in a bottom view.
- the bottom view shows the U-shaped receptacle 4, which is formed by the fuselage component 2.
- Arranged laterally on the drive unit 3 are inflatable arms of the fuselage component 2 which are circular in cross-section perpendicularly to the direction of travel F and grip the drive unit 3 between them.
- the overlap 8 connected to the fuselage component 2 is provided, which does not necessarily completely cover the gap 6, but does cover the gap section 6a running transversely, preferably perpendicularly, to the direction of travel F, into which a particularly large amount of water has conventionally penetrated is completely covered.
Description

Fig. 2 übertrieben breit dargestellt.
-
Fig. 6 zeigt den Überlapp 8 in einer Untenansicht. -
