Definitions

  • the invention relates to a system for producing and processing a book-shaped ID, value or security document.
  • the invention also relates to a corresponding method.
  • Book-shaped identity documents, documents of value or security documents, for example passports comprise a cover and a passport book block.
  • the passport book block has a data card, several passport book pages or visa pages, a flyleaf and a flap tape, the data card having a flap connected to a data card along one edge.
  • the flap of the data card, the passport book pages, the flyleaf and the flap tape are sewn together with a seam.
  • An inside of the cover is glued to an outside of the flyleaf.
  • the cover and the passport book block are glued and folded together.
  • a component of the ID, valuable or security document has an identification feature which defines the type of the book-shaped ID, valuable or security document.
  • the system includes an acceptance device for receiving the data card.
  • a recognition device is provided which is designed to detect the identification feature, which is preferably attached to the data card, and to create an individual parts list for the ID, value or security document as a function of the detected identification feature.
  • An attachment device is also provided for attachment the tab on the data card. This tab is to be regarded as part of the data card.
  • a passport book page device is provided for separating and sorting the passport book pages, which can contain person- and / or document-specific information or are designed, for example, as visa pages for receiving visa stamps.
  • an adhesive device is provided.
  • a sewing device is available for connecting the passport booklet pages, the flyleaf, the flap and the flap by means of the seam to form the passport book block.
  • the system also has a supply device for supplying the cover, as well as a gluing and folding device for connecting the flyleaf to the cover and for folding it to form a passport book blank.
  • an edge processing device is provided in order to process the passport book blank by trimming the outer edges of the passport book blank.
  • a finishing device with at least one unit for personalizing the identity document, document of value or security document, in which, for example, personal and / or document-specific data are stored in a memory area of a chip of the data card.
  • the passport book block, the passport book blank and / or the ID, value or security document between the individual devices one or more holding and
  • a first buffer store is provided, which preferably belongs to a first portal system.
  • the first portal system in particular its first buffer store, is production-connected on the buffer entrance side or portal entrance side with the passport book side device, the attachment device and the gluing device.
  • the first portal system in particular its first buffer store, is connected in production to the sewing device on the buffer output side or portal output side in order to decouple a first production flow from a second production flow.
  • Production-linked is to be understood as a connection in the sense of a production flow, so that a physical connection does not necessarily have to be present. “Production-related” therefore means that the individual components of the ID, value or security document are transferred between the individual devices and the portal system.
  • the system has the advantage that the first production flow, which is preferably composed of a partial production flow of the passport book page device, a partial production flow of the attachment device and a partial production flow of the gluing device, is decoupled from a second production flow by the first portal system and its first buffer store.
  • the buffering takes place specifically before processing by a sewing device in order to allow the individual partial production flows to be flexibly produced in the passport book page device, in the attachment device and in the gluing device.
  • the passport book page device can process or produce a stack of passport book pages and store them in the first buffer store.
  • the attachment device can attach the tab to the data card and also feed it to the first buffer store.
  • the gluing device can attach the lapping tape to the end leaf and feed it to the first buffer store.
  • a plurality of stacks of passport book pages, a plurality of data cards with a flap and a plurality of end pages with a lap band can be stored in the buffer store, which can be further processed in the sewing device located downstream in the manufacturing process - thus in the second production flow; and even if a disruption should occur within the first production flow.
  • a second buffer store which preferably belongs to a second portal system.
  • the second buffer store is production-connected on the buffer input side or portal input side with the gluing and folding device and on the buffer output side or portal output side with the edge processing device in order to decouple the second production flow from a third production flow.
  • the bindings connected to the passport book block by means of the gluing and folding device i.e. the passport book blanks are fed to the second buffer store before they enter the third production flow.
  • the subsequent edge processing device and / or the subsequent finishing device can continue to work in the third production flow until the second buffer store is empty. This also creates a decoupling that reduces the cycle time for the production of the identity document, value document or security document.
  • the system has a third buffer store for decoupling a process of providing the cover and a process of bringing the cover together with the passport book block. This also ensures that the lamination of the cover is not impaired in the event of a disruption in one of the other production flows. Laminated bindings are then temporarily stored in the third buffer store before they are compiled and / or glued together with the passport book block.
  • the passport book page device comprises a cutting device for cutting a printed sheet to individual copies.
  • the passport book page device then comprises a printing device for printing at least one of the individual copies and a collation device for assembling the printed copies with one or more unprinted copies to form a stack Passport book pages or to provide the collated stack of passport book pages.
  • This also prevents system malfunctions because the passport book page device can now print smaller sheets in a controlled manner. In addition, much less space is required for the production of the passport book pages.
  • a more precise alignment can be achieved through the previous exact cut according to the cut marks of the panels for printing. Even when handling the printed sheet, it no longer happens that it curls and possibly brushes against the print head of the printing device, which usually led to streaks in the printed image of the passport book pages.
  • a curling of the printed sheet can also be prevented by the fact that the cutting device of the passport book page device has a transport device which comprises one or more pairs of conveyor belts on oppositely magnetized or magnetizable conveyor belts, and that a transport gap is at least temporarily present between the conveyor belts for the pulling transport of the printed sheet by means of the Conveyor belts. Due to the mutual magnetic attraction, the conveyor belts can clamp a printed sheet between them and transport it.
  • a particularly compact cutting device and thus compact passport book page device is characterized in that there is a plurality of the pairs of conveyor belts which are aligned with one another in such a way that one or more gaps between gaps and one or more gaps between rows are created.
  • one or more roller knives that can be driven in rotation and / or one or more slidably guided knives of the cutting device are arranged. These are designed to cut the printed sheet in a longitudinal direction and in a transverse direction to individual copies.
  • the printing device of the passport book page device has a transport device with a plurality of item receivers, which are movably arranged on a closed rail track, for the individual picking up of the item to be printed and if the printing device comprises a first printing unit for printing the panel to be printed on at least one first panel side.
  • the benefit recipients can be controlled separately from one another and can also be adjusted along the railroad at different speeds. As a result, the benefit receiver can therefore be moved along the rail track in the area of the printing unit at a lower (or even higher) speed than is the case outside this area.
  • one of the use pick-ups can also stand still and pick up a copy to be printed, while a second copy pick-up is moved along the rail track and feeds an already printed copy back to a (first) intermediate collation station.
  • the printing device comprises a turning unit.
  • the first printing unit can print the benefit to be printed on a first benefit side and the benefit receiver with the benefit printed on the first benefit side can then be adjusted to the turning unit. This turns the panel to be printed. Then the panel acceptor can feed the turned panel to be printed to the first printing unit again, where it is also printed on its second panel side.
  • the printing device comprises a second printing unit, in particular downstream of the turning unit, in order to print the benefit on its second benefit side.
  • the passport book page device comprises a decoupling unit for decoupling the cutting of the printed sheet by the cutting device from the printing of the copies by the printing device. Even if one of the printing units of the printing device fails, production can continue - slowed down. The printing device is thus also decoupled in itself.
  • the first and the second Includes gluing and folding device.
  • the gluing and folding device that is not subject to interference can continue to produce.
  • the sewing device has redundancy.
  • the sewing device then has a first sewing unit and a second sewing unit which are designed to connect the passport book pages, the endpaper, the lap band and the flap by means of the seam to form the passport book block.
  • the edge processing device is assigned a decoupling unit.
  • the decoupling unit can be designed as a rotary indexing table. This decoupling unit can also represent a feed device.
  • the finishing device has a, preferably optical, unit for quality control of the data card and / or a printed image of components of the identity document, value or security document, that the finishing device has a unit for attaching a, preferably generated by means of a laser, Has perforation, and that the finishing device has a unit which is designed to write person-specific and / or document-specific information into a chip with a memory area provided in the ID, value or security document and to carry out a, preferably optical, quality control of the perforation.
  • This enables a forward-looking process flow to be achieved in finishing or personalization that does not have to go backwards.
  • the finishing device has a label applicator for attaching a label to or around an edge of the identity document, document of value or security document deviating from the spine of the book.
  • the identification, value or security document can thus be kept closed by means of the label and if necessary, additionally individualized person-specific and / or document-specific with a print or embossing provided thereon.
  • the object relating to the method is achieved by a method having the set of features of claim 15. Further advantageous refinements are given below.
  • the known method is changed in such a way that when or after the identification feature is detected, attaching the tab to the edge of the data card by means of the attachment device (step D)), providing the endpaper with the flap tape by means of an adhesive device (step E)) or the Gathering and sorting of the passport book pages (step F)) depending on the parts list by means of the passport book page device when capturing the identification feature of a subsequent ID, value or security document is started, even if one of the two remaining steps D), E) or F) des previous ID, value or security document has not yet been completed.
  • This makes it possible for the individual devices to continue producing independently of one another, even if a malfunction should occur on one of the devices.
  • step D it has proven to be useful if, while a tab is being attached to the edge of the data card (step D)), another data card from a subsequent ID, value or security document is received by means of the acceptance device and its identification feature is recorded by means of the recognition device where another parts list is created for the subsequent ID, value or security document.
  • This parts list is preferably supplied or transmitted electronically, in particular device-related, to all devices in the system.
  • this is a first Buffer storage which preferably belongs to a first portal system, which is connected in production to the sewing device on the buffer output side or portal output side.
  • the passport book blank after its production is fed to a second buffer store, which preferably belongs to a second portal system, which is production-connected to the edge processing device on the buffer exit side or portal exit side.
  • a second portal system which is production-connected to the edge processing device on the buffer exit side or portal exit side.
  • step G To reduce the cycle time of the production of the identity document, value document or security document, it has proven to be useful if the bindings are fed to a third buffer store after an adhesive layer has been applied (step G)), i.e. after the bindings have been laminated.
  • a further reduction in the cycle time or the throughput time for the creation of the ID, value or security document can be achieved if the first buffer store and / or the second buffer store and / or the third buffer store in normal operation of the system with a degree of filling of between 40 and 60 percent of the total capacity of the respective buffer store is held.
  • the respective buffer store is preferably kept at a level of 50 percent, so that the buffer provided by the buffer store always acts in two directions. This means that in the event of a malfunction in front of the buffer store, the subsequent production process can be operated from the filling level between 40 and 60 percent and thus maintained. In the event of a fault occurring in the production process after the buffer store, the production process upstream of the buffer store can continue to be maintained and thus continue to produce "in” the respective buffer store.
  • Normal operation of the system is therefore to be understood as an operation of the system in which all devices function or produce without interference.
  • an optical quality control of the data card and / or a printed image of components of the ID, value or security document is carried out by means of a unit of the finishing device if a perforation is then made in the or is introduced into components of the ID, value or security document by means of a unit of the finishing device, and if a quality control of the perforation is then carried out by means of a unit of the finishing device, the ID, value or security document by means of the holding and transport device is moved along a reversal point-free trajectory between the units. This enables a forward-looking production process for finishing that does not have to go backwards.
