Definitions

  • the invention relates to a system and a method for producing a book-shaped identity document, document of value or security document.
  • Book-shaped identity documents, documents of value or security documents, for example passports, consist of a cover and a passport book block protected by the cover, which has personal and / or document-specific information.
  • the passport book block has several double pages and a data card.
  • the data card is, for example, a plastic or paper-based card on which personal and / or document-specific information such as a passport photo, name or address of the user or an identification number is applied, in particular also in machine-readable form.
  • the double pages can contain further person-specific and / or document-specific information or, for example, be designed as visa pages for receiving visa stamps.
  • the identification document, value document or security document, in particular the data card can have a chip on which personal and / or document-specific information is stored.
  • a flexible tab is provided on one edge of the data card.
  • the flap is sewn together along a seam with the double pages and a cover sheet enclosing the double pages and the data card to form the passport book block.
  • a lap band is usually provided along the seam to protect the seam.
  • Book-shaped identity documents, documents of value or security documents of this type are usually produced by assembling and sewing the passport book block. The passport book block is then glued to the cover and the resulting passport book blank is folded.
  • the free edges of the passport book blank are then processed and the resulting ID, value or security document is personalized, for example by storing personal and / or document-specific data in a chip present in the ID, value or security document or by adding further features to the identity document, value document or security document can be introduced, for example a perforation of the double pages.
  • Examples of conventional systems and methods for producing ID, value or security documents of the type just described are from US Pat WO 01/54918 A1 and DE10 2013 104745 A1 known.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an improved system and an improved method for producing identity, value or security documents, in particular for the individual production of various identity, value or security documents.
  • Embodiments of the invention are particularly advantageous since individual identification, value or security documents can be produced quickly.
  • systems for producing identity, value or security documents are usually equipped with the materials for one type of identity, value or security document and then several identity, value or security documents of the same type are produced. It is therefore only possible to create one type of ID, value or security document.
  • To produce a different type of ID, valuable or security document it is necessary to exchange the materials and, if necessary, convert the system to produce the new type of ID, valuable or security document. If different ID, valuable or security documents are often created or if it is necessary to create different ID, valuable or security documents or ID, valuable or security documents of a certain type within a short period of time, this is associated with a great deal of effort.
  • the materials of several types of ID, valuable or security document are stored in the system and are only removed from the magazines immediately before the production of an individual ID, valuable or security document and, if necessary, individualized for production, for example printed.
  • the creation of an individual parts list for the ID, value or security document enables the production process to be adapted to each type of ID, value or security document, whereby both the type of cover, the passport book block, i.e. the double pages and the front page, such as the format of the ID, value or security document can also be adapted.
  • the system according to the invention a rapid production of such ID, value or security documents is possible.
  • the individual transport ensures that the data card, the passport book block, the passport book blank and the ID, value or security document can be assigned to the individual parts list created for the respective data card on each processing device.
  • an “ID, value or security document” is understood to mean a paper and / or plastic-based document on which person-specific and / or document-specific information is applied in an optically legible manner, identifying the user or the document, for example for approval and use of certain services or functions.
  • the document can also be a voucher or an access card.
  • the document can have a chip or other electronic components, in particular for storing person-specific and / or document-specific information.
  • a “data card” is understood to mean a paper or plastic-based card arranged in a book block of an identity document, value or security document, on which person-specific and / or document-specific information is applied in an optically legible manner that identifies the user or the document, for example for the release and use of certain services or functions.
  • the data card can have a chip or other electronic components, in particular for storing person-specific and / or document-specific information.
  • the at least one holding and transport device is designed for the individual transport of a data card, a passport book block, a passport book blank and / or an ID, value or security document between the devices, with an assignment of the respective data card to that created by the recognition device on the devices individual parts list.
  • the data card, the passport book block, the passport book blank and the ID, value or security document are transported individually between the devices, with an assignment of the respective data card, passport book block, passport book blank and the ID, value or security document to the processing devices individual parts list created by the detection device takes place.
  • the detection device is arranged in the production flow after the device for attaching the tab. After the tab has been attached, the recognition device can detect the identification feature and create the parts list for the further production of the identity document, value or security document.
  • At least one test device is preferably provided for performing a quality control.
  • a test device is arranged in the production flow after the device for attaching the tab.
  • a flexible tab is attached to the data card and a subsequent quality control of the data card takes place. Only if the data card meets defined quality criteria is the data card used to produce an ID, value or security document. Since the parts list is only created after the device for attaching the tab to the data card, i.e. after the quality control, it is prevented that a parts list is created and other materials are selected and processed for a data card that does not pass the quality control.
  • the parts list can be a subsequent Data card differ from the parts list of a previous data card, so that the parts list and any selected and processed materials cannot be used for the subsequent data card to produce an ID, value or security document and must therefore be sorted out. Since further steps in the manufacturing process are only started after the quality control, a material-saving individual production of an ID, value or security document is possible, as it is ensured that materials are only selected and processed if the assigned data card meets the quality criteria.
  • Transfer stations can be provided between the devices, in particular wherein the transfer stations have intermediate storage facilities.
  • the intermediate storage facilities represent buffer storage so that the data card, the passport book block, the passport book blank and the ID, value or security document can be stored between the processing devices, for example if there is a malfunction in a processing device.
  • a controller is preferably provided which controls the devices as a function of the parts list that has been created.
  • the parts list is transmitted to the processing devices in parallel with the data card, so that the required materials can always be selected, compiled and processed according to the parts list.
  • an identification feature can be read out on the individual processing devices and the parts list can then be called up using this identification feature.
  • the holding and transport arrangement has at least one rotatable and / or pivotable multi-joint arm, a head part mounted on the multi-joint arm, at least two, in particular three, holding units arranged on the head part, each holding unit having a drive for actuating the holding units, and one Control, for the simultaneous control of the drives of the holding units and for moving the multi-articulated arm.
  • the holding and transport device can have at least two guide units, at least two holding receptacles for one ID, valuable or security document, a passport book blank, a passport book block, a cover or a book half of an ID, valuable or security document, and a control unit.
  • the holding receptacles can each be moved in a guide, the guides each forming a closed trajectory along which the holding receptacle can be moved.
  • the guide units and / or the holding receptacles can be moved between a machining position and an evasive position, wherein in a machining position of the guide units and / or the holding receptacles the holding receptacles can each be moved along the path curve within a machining area running along a closed machining path, with the guide units in the evading position and / or the holding receptacles, the holding receptacles can each be moved outside the machining area along the path curve.
  • the control unit is configured to control the movement of the holding receptacles along the guide units and to control the movement of the guide units and / or the holding receptacles between the machining position and the avoidance position, the control unit being designed to determine a movement path of the first and second holding receptacles and for testing whether there is a crossover area of the movement paths along the movement paths, the movement of the guide units and / or the holding receptacles between the processing position and the evasive position taking place as a function of the result of the test.
  • the holding receptacles can be moved independently of one another and independently of the position of the respective other receptacle along the machining path.
  • the processing path is preferably designed in such a way that individual processing devices are arranged along this processing path.
  • the transport of the data card, the passport book block, the passport book content or the ID, value or security document between the processing devices takes place with the holding and transport device according to the invention, the data card held in a holding receptacle, the Passport book block, the contents of the passport booklet or the ID, value or security document can be processed by the respective processing device in the holding receptacle.
  • both holding receptacles and / or the guide units of both holding receptacles can evade, the evasive positions of both holding receptacles and / or both guide units being arranged in such a way that the movement paths of both holding receptacles or both holding receptacles are in the evading positions of both holding receptacles and / or both guide units cannot touch.
  • Magazines for the materials defined in accordance with the parts list are preferably provided on the individual processing devices.
  • the selection of the materials from the magazines takes place depending on the created parts list.
  • the magazines have a redundant material feed, so that a reliable and uninterrupted production of ID, value or security documents can be guaranteed.
  • At least two magazines with consumables are preferably provided so that a full magazine can be changed. In this case, a message is generated to an operator to signal to the operator that an empty magazine needs to be changed or filled.
  • parts of a device can be present redundantly, so that uninterrupted production is ensured even in the event of a more complex change of consumables that may be required, for example threading or laying a tape.
  • the tab is only attached to the data card after it has been manufactured. This has the advantage that the transport and handling of the data card are simplified, in particular when producing a book-shaped identity document, document of value or security document in which the data card is produced separately.
  • the data cards can simply be stacked and transported without a flap, which simplifies further processing, in particular recording and alignment in a system according to the invention.
  • the flexible tab is attached to the identity card, for example with an adhesive process or an ultrasonic welding process, whereby a permanent connection can be established between the tab and the data card.
  • the storage device or the storage assemblies can be moved in such a way that the output openings of the individual shelves are each arranged in a plane with the flat support of the transfer device and can be moved in such a way that the output openings are at the level of the collecting device,
  • the controller is configured to assign the individual double pages to the individual shelves as a function of a defined or received sorting sequence, the controller activating the shelf device or the shelf assemblies in such a way that the front ones in the transport direction are located Double-sided associated trays are located in one level with the level support of the transfer device.
  • Such a compilation device enables simple sorting of the provided double pages in any specified order.
  • the sequence of the double pages is determined, with each double page being assigned to a filing system.
  • the storage modules are then moved in such a way that the shelves that are assigned to the respective front double pages, i.e. the double pages closest to the storage modules, are located with their receiving openings at the level of the transfer device and the respective front double pages are sorted into the respective shelves.
  • This process is then repeated for the following double pages.
  • the double-sided stacks can then be pushed together by the collecting device to form a double-sided stack.
  • the collecting device has, for example, several collecting trays for each of several double pages output from the depositing device, the collecting trays having a receiving opening and an output opening.
  • the collecting trays can be moved between a starting position and a collecting position, the collecting trays being arranged one behind the other in the starting position in a collecting direction, in particular in a plane, and being arranged one above the other in the collecting position and the output openings being arranged in a plane perpendicular to the collecting direction.
  • the removal device is designed to remove the double pages from the collecting trays in the collecting position of the collecting trays.
  • the device for collating and sorting the double pages and the cover sheet can have a magazine for cut sheets for the double pages, a Conveyor device for selecting the cut sheets required according to the parts list, a printing device for printing and personalizing the cut sheets, a cutting device for cutting the cut sheets into double pages and a sorting system that can sort and / or assemble the cut double pages in a sequence desired according to the parts list.
  • Such a device enables a quick and reliable connection of the Hurlzelbandes achieved with the cover sheet. Before the passport book block is sewn together, the lap band is reliably fixed so that it cannot slip.
  • the binding is finally fixed to the passport book block only in the folded or closed position in which the identity, value or security document is applied.
  • the cover is usually attached to the front sheet of the passport book block before it is folded. If the ID, valuable or security document is then folded, tensions arise between the cover and the cover sheet, which lead to the ID, valuable or security document being set up.
  • the final fixing after folding together avoids these tensions, so that the ID, value or security document is kept in the closed state.
  • the prefixing prevents mutual displacement of the passport book block and the cover during the folding process, so that the ID, value or security document can be produced with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Both the selection of the cover and the desired format can be selected individually for the respective ID, value or security document, so that the production of various ID, value or security documents is possible.
  • the cover and the passport book block or the passport book blank are produced with a slight oversize and only then cut to the desired format. This allows manufacturing-related tolerances to be compensated.
  • this manufacturing method has the advantage that an adhesive layer that has emerged from the side between the cover and passport book block can be removed by milling. If pages of the identity document, value or security document are glued to one another at the edges due to the leaked adhesive layer, this edge can be removed together with the leaked adhesive layer.
