- the door panel 80 requires 2 mm more S2 glass material than the partition panels 64, because the access door 78 does not benefit from an aluminium trim panel.
- the access door 78 may comprise a metallic rectangular door frame and is hinged to one of the vertical edges 58 of the doorway frame 56 so as to open into the passenger compartment 16 only. In the closed position, the access door 78 bears against the doorway frame 56 at least along the vertical edges 58 and the top edge 60 of the doorway frame 56. As an option, the bottom edge 62 may be provided with a step on which the bottom edge of the access door 78 bears in the closed position to provide further structural support. However, consideration should be given to potential tripping hazard issues for train personal going through the doorway.
- the access door 78 and doorway frame 56 are provided with a key-operated lock with at least three, preferably at least four latches.
- One or more back wall cubicles 80 are located in the driver's cabin 14 directly adjacent to the back wall partition 16. Each back wall cubicle 80 has a back wall cubicle framework 82 directly secured to the car body structure 20.
- the rail vehicle comprises a driver's cabin HVAC system with and HVAC ducting 84 that connects the driver's cabin to the outside of the rail vehicle without entering the passenger compartment 16.
- the overall design of the driver's cabin back wall partition 18 provides a secure barrier against penetration due to explosion or terrorist act in the adjoining passenger compartment 16, which might disable the driver, and more specifically against penetration due to blast pressures and missiles (bullets).
- the blast pressure loads will be reacted by the compression of the partition panels 64 and access door panel 80 onto the driver's cabin back wall partition framework 42 and into the car body structure 20. Additional support is provided by the back wall cubicles 82 after the partition and door panels have deflected under blast load by a few millimetres.
- the relocation of the driver's cabin ducting 84 completely outside the passenger compartment 16 further prevents the blast pressure pulse from entering the driver's cabin 14.
- the autoclaved sandwich materials 66, 82 selected for the partition and door panels 64, 80 provide a good missile penetration resistance without compromising the fire performance.

Claims (15)
- Ein Schienenfahrzeug (10) mit einer Karroseriestruktur (20), einer Fahrerkabine (14), einem Fahrgastraum (16) und einer Trennwand auf der Rückseite der Fahrerkabine (18), die die Fahrerkabine (14) von dem Fahrgastraum (18) trennt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Trennwand auf der Rückseite der Fahrerkabine (18) Trennpaneele (64) aufweist, die aus explosions-, flugkörper- und feuerbeständigem Verbundmaterial (66) bestehen, wobei die Trennwand auf der Rückseite der Fahrerkabine (18) zusätzlich einen Rahmen (42) aufweist, der einen Bodenabschnitt (44), zwei seitliche vertikale Abschnitte (46) und einen Dachabschnitt (48) aufweist, welche direkt an der Karroseriestruktur (20) befestigt sind, und wobei die Trennpaneele (64) direkt mit dem Rahmen (42) fest verbunden sind.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß Anspruch 1, wobei das Verbundmaterial (66) der Trennpaneele (64) Sandwich-Elemente aufweist, vorzugsweise aus einer dampfgehärteten Sandwich-Struktur, mit einem Kernmaterial (68) zwischen einer Edelstahlplatte (70) auf der Seite des Fahrgastraums und einer Fahrerkabinen-Seitenplatte (72) aus Edelstahl, Glasfaser oder Karbonfaser auf der Seite der Fahrerkabine.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß Anspruch 2, wobei das Kernmaterial (68) des Verbundmaterials (66) der Trennpaneele (64) Vermiculite aufweist.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß Anspruch 2 oder Anspruch 3, wobei die Seitenplatte der Fahrerkabine (72) S2-Glasfasern aufweist.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß einer der vorherigen Ansprüche, wobei die Trennwand auf der Rückseite der Fahrerkabine (18) zusätzlich eine oder mehrere Abschlussplatten (74) aufweist, die die Trennpaneele (64) abdecken und dem Fahrgastraum gegenüberliegen.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß Anspruch 5, wobei die Abschlussplatten (74) aus Aluminium bestehen.
- Schienenfahrzeig gemäß einer der vorherigen Ansprüche, wobei der Rahmen zusätzlich einen Türöffnungsrahmen (56) aufweist, der direkt mit dem Dachabschnitt (48) des Rahmens (42) auf der oberen Seite und mit dem Bodenabschnitt (44) des Rahmens (42) und/oder mit der Karroseriestruktur (20) auf der unteren Ende fest verbunden ist, wobei die Trennwand auf der Rückseite der Fahrerkabine (18) zusätzlich eine Zugangstür (78) aufweist, die in den Türöffnungsrahmen (56) eingelassen ist.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß Anspruch 7, wobei die Zugangstür eine Türfüllung (80) aufweist, die mit einem explosions-, flugkörper- und feuerbeständigen Verbundmaterial (82) hergestellt wird.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß Anspruch 8, wobei das Verbundmaterial (82) der Türfüllung (80) Sandwich-Elemente aufweist, vorzugsweise dampfgehärtet, mit einem Kernmaterial (84) zwischen einer Edelstahlplatte (88) auf einer Fahrgastraumseite und einer Fahrerkabinen-Seitenplatte (86) aus Edelstahl, Glasfaser oder Karbonfasern auf der Seite der Fahrerkabine.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß Anspruch 9, wobei das Kernmaterial (84) des Verbundmaterials (82) der Türfüllung (80) Vermiculite aufweist.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß Anspruch 9 oder Anspruch 10, wobei die Fahrerkabinen-Seitenplatte (86) des Verbundmaterials (82) der Türfüllung (80) S2-Glasfasern aufweist.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß einer der Ansprüche 7 bis 11, wobei die Zugangstür (78) mittels Scharnieren mit dem Türöffnungsrahmen (56) verbunden ist, um ausschließlich in Richtung des Fahrgastraums (16) zu öffnen, und um im geschlossenen Zustand am Türöffnungsrahmen (56) entlang an mindestens zwei und vorzugsweise mindestens drei Rändern der Zugangstür (78) anzuliegen.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß einer der Ansprüche 7 bis 12, wobei sich der Türöffnungsrahmen (56) im gleichen Abstand bzw. nahezu im gleichen Abstand von den seitlichen Karroserieabschnitten (46) des Rahmens (42) befindet.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß einer der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, zusätzlich mit einer HLKK-Anlage in der Fahrerkabine, die die Fahrerkabine (14) mit dem Außenraum des Schienenfahrzeugs verbindet, ohne Verbindung mit dem Fahrgastraum.
- Schienenfahrzeug gemäß einer der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, zusätzlich mit mindestens einer Rückwand-Zelle (80), die sich in der Fahrerkabine (14) befindet, die direkt an die Trennwand (18) auf der Rückseite der Fahrerkabine angrenzt, wobei die Rückwand-Zelle (80) über einen Rückwand-Zellen-Rahmen (82) verfügt, der direkt mit der Karroseriestruktur (20) fest verbunden ist.
