Definitions

  • the invention relates to a log splitter for splitting cut wood according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such a wood splitter is out DE 3 312 596 A1 known.
  • the document DE 20 2006 000 771 U1 discloses such a wood splitter for splitting cut round and trunk wood.
  • the well-known wood splitter has a transport device into which the cut log has to be inserted so that at its one cut surface a pressure plate of the transport device and at its other cutting surface the splitting knife comes to rest.
  • a switch By actuating a switch begins a combined transport and splitting process in which the pressure plate presses the log onto the splitting blade and transported the log around the entire length of wood in the direction of the splitting blade.
  • the splitting knife has a main cutting edge and a plurality of vertical secondary cutting edges with which six logs are simultaneously split off from the log during the combined transport and splitting operation. After completion of the combined transport and splitting operation of a remaining transport to be split log with a residual wood return device is transported back to the starting position in front of the splitting knife in a transport process, whereupon again the combined transport and splitting operation begins.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a wood splitter according to the first paragraph, in which the above-mentioned disadvantages are avoided.
  • the transport process and the splitting process are thus decoupled, wherein the splitting blade is driven substantially transversely to the transport direction into the wood. Furthermore, an offset by the gap distance to the transport surface parallel stabilizing surface is provided.
  • the remaining wood still to be split is pushed onto the stabilizing surface during the transport process with the splitting surface created during the first splitting operation.
  • the wood still to be split is thus supported on this stabilizing surface. In this way, the advantage is obtained that the wood to be split rests stable and secure in each of the successive splitting operations to ensure the reliable splitting of logs. Since preferably only one log is split off from the wood during each splitting operation, the drive of the splitting blade aggregate as well as the entire mechanical construction of the log splitter can be realized simply and thus cost-effectively.
  • FIG. 1 shows a log splitter 1 for splitting cut wood 2.
  • a in the FIG. 2 closer splitting blade unit 3 has a splitting blade 4 for splitting a log from the wood 2 each splitting operation.
  • the splitting blade assembly 3 further has a hydraulic cylinder 5, which drives the splitting blade 4 via a push rod 6 in the wood 2.
  • the splitting blade 4 is shown in detail, which has the cross-sectional shape of a trapezoid and at one end has a receptacle 7 for the push rod 6 and at the opposite end a cutting edge 8.
  • the cutting edge 8 has a one-sided oblique cut (outside 0 °, inside 6 ° - 30 ° possible), whereby the split wood log falls directly downwards.
  • the splitting blade 4 also has guide elements 9 and 10 with which it is displaceably guided in guide rails 11 and 12 of the splitting blade assembly 3, as shown in FIG FIG. 3 is shown.
  • FIG. 5 further cross-sectional shapes of splitting blades 4 are shown, which can be used in the log splitter 1 to split off different shapes of logs 13.
  • Three of the splitting blades 4 shown have a secondary cutting edge, whereby two logs are split off from the wood 2 for each splitting operation.
  • the ability to provide different splitting blade 4 in the log splitter 1 has the advantage that depending on the type of wood or depending on the customer's request with respect to the shape of the logs 13 of the log splitter 1 can be adjusted by simply replacing the splitting blade 4.
  • the guide elements in the second row on the right and in the third row in FIG. 5 Splitting knives 4 shown are formed by brackets, which can be pushed onto a 1-carrier, which in this case forms both guide rails of the splitting blade assembly 3.
  • the guide element is provided on only one side of the ejection region 22.
  • the log splitter 1 now also has a timber transport device 14, wherein a transport arm 15 transports the wood 2 on a transport surface 16 in a transport direction 17.
  • the transport direction 17 is substantially perpendicular to the advancing movement of the splitting blade 4.
  • the transport arm 15 is hydraulically driven and hinged executed and in FIG. 1 shown both in its folded to the ground position P and in its folded substantially perpendicular to the transport surface 16 position.
  • a chain conveyor is arranged, which drives the transport arm 15 for transporting the wood 2 in the transport direction 17 and for receiving a new wood 2 to be split against the transport direction 17.
  • the timber transport device 14 now also has a stabilizing surface 18 provided substantially parallel to the transport surface 16 at a gap distance A, on which the gap surface 19 of the remaining wood 2 to be split during the splitting operation rests during the subsequent splitting operation.
  • the wood 2 is held in the appropriate position for the separation of the log 13, although it is already asymmetric by the previously split off a wood gap 13 and without the stabilizing surface 18 only tilted on the transport surface 16 would rest.
  • This advantageously logs 13 can be split off from the wood 2, which all have a uniform shape.
  • the gap spacing A is advantageously selected to be substantially equal to the height of the cross section of the splitting blade 4 so that the remaining wood 2 to be split still rests flatly and therefore reliably on the stabilizing surface 18 with its splitting surface 19.
  • a feeding element 20 is provided at its end facing the splitting blade 4, which supports the feeding of the wood 2 onto the stabilizing surface 18 during transport of the wood 2 in the transporting direction 17. This prevents that the wood 2 imposed during transport in the transport direction 17 at the edge of the stabilizing surface 18, which would have a malfunction of the log splitter 1 result.
  • the timber transporting device 14 now also has a closure flap 21 as closure means in the region of the splitting knife 4 for extending the transporting surface 16, wherein the closure flap 21 is formed so that it can be folded away in order to support the wood 2 during the transporting operation and to discharge the wood during the splitting process in the splitting operation split logs 13 to allow in a discharge area 22.
  • Below the ejection region 22 may be provided - in the manner not shown in the figures - a log transport device for transporting the split logs 13 to a removal area, which is formed for example by a conveyor belt.
  • a wood bundle device may be provided for bundling the split logs 13 so that the logs 13 can already be bundled with a string or a wire from the log splitter 1 in the removal area.
  • the split logs 13 could also be removed manually by hand from the log splitter 1.
  • the timber transporting device 14 further has laterally of the transport surface 16 and the stabilizing surface 18 on each side of a guide plate 23 and 24 for guiding the wood 2 to be split. As a result, a uniform and secure positioning of the timber 2 during the transport process and the splitting process is ensured.
  • the transport surface 16 and the stabilizing surface 18 of in FIG. 3 illustrated timber transport device 14 are inclined at an angle W of 45 degrees to the horizontal.
  • This inclination is advantageously achieved that the wood 2 is pressed by its weight against both the transport arm 15 and against the transport surface 16 and the stabilizing surface 18 and thus always lies in the desired position.
  • This advantage is achievable in an angular range of the angle W of 5 to 85 degrees.
  • the transport arm 15 is hydraulically by means of a in the FIG. 1 not shown hydraulic punch positioned in the position P. Then an operator rolls or lays the wood 2 on the transport arm 15, whereupon the operator actuates a switch and the timber transport device 14 brings the wood 2 by tipping the transport arm 15 into contact with the transport surface 16 and then transports the wood 2 in the transport direction 17, to it rests against the feed element 20.
  • the operator actuates another switch to start the splitting process.
  • the hydraulic cylinder 5 presses the splitting blade 4 into the wood 2 and splits off a log 13, which falls over the ejection region 22 onto the conveyor belt.
  • the Hydraulic cylinder 5 pulls the Hydraulic cylinder 5, the splitting blade 4 back, whereby the wood 2 is stripped with the guide plate 24 of the splitting blade 4 and the splitting process is completed.
  • the transport arm 15 transports the remaining remaining wood 2 to be split in the transport direction 17, whereby the gap surface 19 created by the splitting process slides over the feed element 20 onto the stabilizing surface 18. If the wood 2 abuts with its splitting surface 25 on the feed element 20, then the transport process is terminated and a further splitting operation splits off another log 13 from the wood 2, as shown in FIG FIG. 3 is shown.
  • the shutter 21 is closed before the transport operation to extend the transport surface 16 for the timber 2.
  • the closing and opening of the closure flap 21 can be done manually or automatically coupled to the transport process, driven by a motor or hydraulically.
  • the shutter 21 remains closed even at the beginning of the splitting operation of the last log 13 from the bottom of the timber 2 to stabilize the wood 2 before and during penetration of the splitting blade 4.
  • the closing flap 21 is opened again in order to provide sufficient space for the splitting of the log 13 and to drop the log 13 into the ejection area 22 after splitting off.
  • the maximum length of the wood splitter 1 fissile cut wood 2 is given by the width between the guide plates 23 and 24. This width must be adapted to the pressing force of the hydraulic cylinder 5, so that all insertable into the log splitter 1 2 wood can be split reliably.
  • the operator could trigger the respective splitting operation by actuating a switch, whereupon the wood splitter 1 would come to a halt after performing only one splitting operation and only one transport process.
  • the operator could put the wood to be split on the transport arm 15 and operate a switch, whereupon the entire wood would be split in several transport and splitting operations in their entirety and processed into logs.
  • the wood splitter can be connected to a tractor and driven by it.
  • a two-sided ground joint may also be provided on the cutting edge of the splitting blade, with the one-sided grinding being found to be advantageous for splitting the wood.
  • the cut surfaces of the wood need not be flat to split a cut wood with the wood splitter.
