Claims (10)
- Apparatus (1) for coating workpieces (2) which are preferably in at least one section made of wood, derived timber products, plastic, aluminium or the like, in particular for carrying out the method according to any of the preceding claims, comprising:a delivery device (10) for delivering a coating material (12),a pressure device (20) for pressing the coating material (12) against a surface (2a) of a workpiece (2),a conveying device (4) for bringing about a relative movement between the pressure device (20) and the respective workpiece (2), andat least one energy source (30) for supplying energy to an adhesive agent or an agent that can be made adhesive (14), which agent may be provided independently and/or may be part of the coating material (12) and/or of the workpiece (2), and whereinthe at least one energy source (30) is selected from the group consisting of infrared source, ultrasound source, magnetic field source, microwave source and plasma source,characterised in that the energy source (30) and/or a focusing device (32) are designed to oscillate.
- Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the coating material (12) in at least one section has an integral or discrete layer (14) which develops adhesive properties as a result of the supply of energy.
- Apparatus according to either of claims 1 to 2, characterised in that it further has at least one adhesive-providing device (40, 42) which is designed to apply an agent (14) that is already adhesive or one that can be made adhesive by supplying energy, to the coating material (12) and/or workpiece (2).
- Apparatus according to claim 3, characterised in that it has at least two adhesive-providing devices (40, 42) which provide adhesive agents or agents that can be made adhesive (14) which are different to each other.
- Apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the pressure device (20) is designed to apply the coating material (12) to a narrow face and/or a broad face of the workpiece (2).
- Apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the conveying device (4) is designed to convey the workpieces (2) in a direction of through-travel.
- Apparatus according to any of claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the focusing device (32) is designed to direct the energy provided by the energy source (30) onto selected areas of the adhesive agent (14) to be activated or produced.
- Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the energy source (30) and/or the focusing device (32) are designed to oscillate all the faster, the faster the relative movement in relation to the workpiece (2).
- Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the delivery device (10) contains a supply of coating material (12) of which the material is selected from the group consisting of plastic, paper, cardboard, metal and combinations thereof.
- Apparatus according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the at least one energy source (30) is disposed so as to be movable, this being transversely to the direction of a relative movement generated by the conveying device (4) between the pressure device (20) and the respective workpiece (2).
