Abstract

Description

From the DE 10 2006 003 346 A1 is a book or a brochure with a fastened within the book block sign band known, wherein the attachment end of the sign band is performed by a crimped hole in one of the book block forming signatures and secured to this signatures. The integration of these relatively complex manufacturing steps in a folding machine, as in the DE 10 2006 003 346 A1 proposed, is complicated and limited their production capacity. In view of the widest possible availability of the character band insertion in the various production processes, the variety of folding devices used depending on the type of production and page circumference is also to be considered, such as sword, pocket or combination folding machines in sheet processing or hopper and jaw folders in web presses. On the other hand, the introduction of the sign band with a separate machine for loading and unloading requires additional operators, claimed due to the temporary storage of the folded sheet production area and increases the lead time of orders. A disadvantage of the method is also that the tape can not be attached to a single sheet.

The present invention has for its object to provide a method for attaching a signing tape to a book or a brochure, which is universally applicable for various production methods of books and brochures and yet is inexpensive to carry out. Another object is to propose a device of simple construction for carrying out the method.

This object is achieved by a method and a device according to claim 1 or claim 20.

The invention proposes to carry out the attachment of the sign band during collation of the book block. The ribbon is like a side dish on the top Sheet of a previously collected part book block launched.
