- the present invention relates to a garment, in particular for protective and or military purposes, such as ABC protective suit or the like, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the prior art uses conventional protective suits, such as ABC or chemical protective suits, with a separate respirator.
- a separate respirator Depending on the type of respirator and softness of the material of the suit, it can be very complicated and difficult to ensure a secure seal between the suit and the respirator, especially during extreme head movements.
- An object of the present invention is now to provide a garment, preferably for protective or military purposes, such as ABC protective suit or the like, which mitigates the disadvantages described above or at least largely avoids.
- a garment which in particular has a hood for receiving a respirator, the transition region between garment on the one hand and respirator on the other hand in such a way that this transition, at least largely sealed even under adverse conditions or strong mechanical stress is.
- a basic idea of the present invention is therefore to provide a permanent connection between the respirator on the one hand and hood on the other hand, in order to ensure in this way a permanently sealing transition between respiratory mask on the one hand and hood on the other hand, especially in the (edge) area of the visual field opening.
- the hood is permanently connected to the hood at a hood edge, wherein it is particularly preferred according to the invention that the hood edge is connected to an outer edge of the respiratory mask.
- the hood edge forms, so to speak, the limitation or delimitation of the visual field opening of the hood.
- the connection between hood and respirator can thus be made in such a way that the hood and the respirator are each connected at the edges.
- connection between the hood and the respiratory mask is, in particular between a hood edge of the hood and an outer edge of the respiratory mask, circumferentially or at least substantially continuously formed along the visual field opening.
- circumferential or “continuous”, as used in the invention with respect to the connection between the hood and respirator, is understood in the context of the present invention such that the above term denotes a state in which the permanent connection is a closed Ring or circle forms, so to speak, along the visual field opening, in which respect it is crucial that the circumferential connection is at least substantially continuous, d. H. is not provided with channels and openings, so that a sealing connection between the respirator on the one hand and the hood on the other hand results.
- the term “permanent” is also to be understood such that the tightness, especially against toxic substances such as chemical or biological poison or warfare agents, during the intended service life of the garment according to the invention is at least substantially not affected or not degraded, with the useful life may extend over a variety of uses, such as military missions. It is crucial that the secure connection over the entire period of use of the garment according to the invention is ensured.
- the garment according to the invention can - as described below - for example in the form of a protective suit, in particular a ABC protective suit.
