- the present invention relates to a garment, in particular for protective and or military purposes, such as ABC protective suit or the like, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- the prior art uses conventional protective suits, such as ABC or chemical protective suits, with a separate respirator.
- a separate respirator Depending on the type of respirator and softness of the material of the suit, it can be very complicated and difficult to ensure a secure seal between the suit and the respirator, especially during extreme head movements.
- An object of the present invention is now to provide a garment, preferably for protective or military purposes, such as ABC protective suit or the like, which mitigates the disadvantages described above or at least largely avoids.
- a garment which in particular has a hood for receiving a respirator, the transition region between garment on the one hand and respirator on the other hand in such a way that this transition, at least largely sealed even under adverse conditions or strong mechanical stress is.
- a basic idea of the present invention is therefore to provide a permanent connection between the respirator on the one hand and hood on the other hand, in order to ensure in this way a permanently sealing transition between respiratory mask on the one hand and hood on the other hand, especially in the (edge) area of the visual field opening.
- the hood is permanently connected to the hood at a hood edge, wherein it is particularly preferred according to the invention that the hood edge is connected to an outer edge of the respiratory mask.
- the hood edge forms, so to speak, the limitation or delimitation of the visual field opening of the hood.
- the connection between hood and respirator can thus be made in such a way that the hood and the respirator are each connected at the edges.
- connection between the hood and the respiratory mask is, in particular between a hood edge of the hood and an outer edge of the respiratory mask, circumferentially or at least substantially continuously formed along the visual field opening.
- circumferential or “continuous”, as used in the invention with respect to the connection between the hood and respirator, is understood in the context of the present invention such that the above term denotes a state in which the permanent connection is a closed Ring or circle forms, so to speak, along the visual field opening, in which respect it is crucial that the circumferential connection is at least substantially continuous, d. H. is not provided with channels and openings, so that a sealing connection between the respirator on the one hand and the hood on the other hand results.
- the term “permanent” is also to be understood such that the tightness, especially against toxic substances such as chemical or biological poison or warfare agents, during the intended service life of the garment according to the invention is at least substantially not affected or not degraded, with the useful life may extend over a variety of uses, such as military missions. It is crucial that the secure connection over the entire period of use of the garment according to the invention is ensured.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a garment, in particular for protective and or military purposes, such as ABC protective suit or the like, according to the preamble of
Persons in contact with toxic substances that can be absorbed through the respiratory tract must protect themselves against these toxins by wearing a respirator. Moreover, if there is a risk that the toxic substances may also be absorbed or absorbed through the skin, or if this is technically necessary, these persons (eg soldiers, firefighters, police officers, members of special units such as the GSG 9 etc.) in addition wear protective clothing, in particular NBC protective suits, which avoid contact of the toxins with the skin or the body and are usually equipped with a hood. The hood of such ABC protective suits can have a circumferential, in particular elastic seam for forming a visual field opening, which is provided for receiving the respiratory mask, wherein the hem of the hood is intended to be applied to the respirator in the state of use.
The prior art uses conventional protective suits, such as ABC or chemical protective suits, with a separate respirator. Depending on the type of respirator and softness of the material of the suit, it can be very complicated and difficult to ensure a secure seal between the suit and the respirator, especially during extreme head movements.
Dies kann folglich dazu führen, daß giftige bzw. gefährliche Stoffe durch den nicht ausreichend abgedichtetenIn the prior art, therefore, there is the problem that the transition from the hood or hem on the one hand and respirator on the other hand is not sufficiently sealed in most cases. Consequently, this can lead to toxic or hazardous substances being insufficiently sealed
B. Senfgas (Bis-(2-chlorethyl)sulfid, auch Lost genannt).Transition between the hood or hem on the one hand and respirator on the other hand can pass and consequently the wearer of such a protective suit comes into contact with these substances or these substances can even get under the edge of the respirator, so that they are finally inhaled. This is particularly dangerous for the wearer of such a protective suit when exposed to so-called skin toxins, such as. B. Mustard gas (bis (2-chloroethyl) sulfide, also called Lost).
An object of the present invention is now to provide a garment, preferably for protective or military purposes, such as ABC protective suit or the like, which mitigates the disadvantages described above or at least largely avoids. In particular, it is an object of the present invention, in such a garment, which in particular has a hood for receiving a respirator, the transition region between garment on the one hand and respirator on the other hand in such a way that this transition, at least largely sealed even under adverse conditions or strong mechanical stress is.
The above-described object is achieved by a piece of clothing according to
A basic idea of the present invention is therefore to provide a permanent connection between the respirator on the one hand and hood on the other hand, in order to ensure in this way a permanently sealing transition between respiratory mask on the one hand and hood on the other hand, especially in the (edge) area of the visual field opening. This results in that in use or wearing state, so when wearing the respirator by a wearer, a permanent seal the transition between the hood of the inventive garment and respirator is achieved or the seal this transition is significantly improved, so that the wearer also is effectively protected from toxic substances under extreme conditions of use and heavy physical activity or stress.
It is particularly advantageous if the hood is permanently connected to the hood at a hood edge, wherein it is particularly preferred according to the invention that the hood edge is connected to an outer edge of the respiratory mask. The hood edge forms, so to speak, the limitation or delimitation of the visual field opening of the hood. The connection between hood and respirator can thus be made in such a way that the hood and the respirator are each connected at the edges.
The connection between the hood and the respiratory mask is, in particular between a hood edge of the hood and an outer edge of the respiratory mask, circumferentially or at least substantially continuously formed along the visual field opening.
The term "circumferential" or "continuous", as used in the invention with respect to the connection between the hood and respirator, is understood in the context of the present invention such that the above term denotes a state in which the permanent connection is a closed Ring or circle forms, so to speak, along the visual field opening, in which respect it is crucial that the circumferential connection is at least substantially continuous, d. H. is not provided with channels and openings, so that a sealing connection between the respirator on the one hand and the hood on the other hand results.
Furthermore, the term "permanent", as it is used according to the invention with respect to the compound of the aforementioned type, to be understood that the connection between the hood and respirator of the garment of the invention at least substantially over the period of use or for the life of the invention Garment is guaranteed. In other words, the term "permanent" is also to be understood such that the tightness, especially against toxic substances such as chemical or biological poison or warfare agents, during the intended service life of the garment according to the invention is at least substantially not affected or not degraded, with the useful life may extend over a variety of uses, such as military missions. It is crucial that the secure connection over the entire period of use of the garment according to the invention is ensured.
The garment according to the invention can - as described below - for example in the form of a protective suit, in particular a ABC protective suit. It may be a one-piece protective suit in which the item of clothing according to the invention is, so to speak, an integral part of the protective suit or is firmly connected to the other parts of the protective suit. For example, the protective suit, in particular ABC protective suit, may be a so-called coverall in a non-restrictive manner. Likewise, the present invention also relates to such embodiments in which the protective clothing is in the manner of a protective jacket, a protective shirt or the like, in particular with a protective function against chemical or biological toxicants or warfare agents. Similarly, it can also be provided according to the invention that the garment according to the invention is detachably connectable to a protective suit, which will be discussed in more detail below. According to a further embodiment according to the invention, the item of clothing according to the invention may also be in the form of a particular separate poncho, the item of clothing according to the invention being able to be worn, as it were, over a protective suit or the like and covering it at least partially, in particular in the upper body region. The protective clothing can be both an undergarment (undergarment or underwear), which is worn directly on the skin in particular, and an overgarment (outerwear).
As discussed in more detail below, the essential advantages of the present invention reside in the fact that according to the invention with regard to the hood and respirator so to speak a one-piece garment is provided such that the hood and respirator are permanently interconnected. This leads to the great advantage that when using a quick and easy placement of the garment according to the invention is guaranteed, since so to speak, hood and respirator can be placed in one step, which represents a huge increase in security potential. In addition, due to the permanent connection between the hood on the one hand and respirator on the other hand, the invention ensures that slippage or wrinkling in the transition between the hood and respirator is effectively prevented, so that the compound has a high protective function against toxic substances, especially chemical poison or Warfare agents, even under severe chemical and physical stress, for example in the form of head movements during heavy physical activity. In addition, according to the invention eliminates a precise and (time) consuming alignment or adjustment of the hood with respect to the respirator.

In order to prevent penetration of toxic substances, in particular warfare agents, and / or to ensure elimination of possibly penetrated into the
