Definitions

  • the invention relates to a modular body armor vest, a shoulder region protective element therefor and a fastening element for a shoulder region protective element according to the preamble of claims 1, 10 and 11, respectively.
  • Such body vests are worn by police officers and soldiers to protect the upper body against blows, punches, splinters and fragments from firearms explosions and / or bullets.
  • the degree of overlap of the lateral connection tabs attached to one vest part can be selected with the other vest part depending on the hip and chest circumference to set the body armor vest narrow or wide.
  • the shoulder straps can be adjusted short or long according to the body size, so that the vest parts are always at the optimum height.
  • body vests do not have to be purchased and kept in all clothing sizes.
  • additional adjustment options are given within a clothing size.
  • a modular design allows the variable use of protective elements depending on the application scenario.
  • a police operation during a demonstration e.g. Impact and puncture protection elements are used, while e.g. In a hostage-taking ballistic protective elements are used to protect against bullets from firearms.
  • Ballistic protective elements can also be combined with impact and / or puncture protection elements.
  • Shoulder protector elements, side protectors, crotch protectors, collar and / or larynx, etc. may be attached to the body armor vest in addition to chest and back protectors depending on the application scenario.
  • the placement of protective elements is thus selectable individually and taking into account the respective threat scenario, in particular depending on the nature and the direction of the threat to be expected, e.g. in a police scenario from the front and an attack scenario for soldiers also from above and behind.
  • ballistic protective elements require an overlap in order to provide optimum protection even with edge or oblique bombardment. Therefore, e.g. a ballistic shoulder area protection element overlap with a ballistic chest area protection element.
  • the required overlap can be up to 5cm.
  • the known body vests are disadvantageous in terms of adaptability. This also applies to body vests, in which shoulder area protection elements are attached to eyelets or the like at always the same point of a shoulder strap. Finally, these body vests lack the gapless overlap required for optimal ballistic, impact and / or puncture protection.
  • the US-A-4 497 069 shows a modular body armor garment, in which two shoulder straps connect a front part with a back part. Shoulder pads can be slipped onto the shoulder straps via loops.
  • a modular body armor vest wherein the shoulder protector elements comprise fingers which are connected to the vest or back region of the vest.
  • the invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a modular body armor, a shoulder region protective element and a fastener for a shoulder region protection element according to the preamble of claim 1, 10 and 11, in which freedom of movement and adaptability in interchangeability of the shoulder region protection element and excellent safety are improved.
