Definitions
- the invention relates to a suction jet pump, consisting of a propulsion jet nozzle, a mixing tube, a suction port, a propellant conduit connected to the propulsion jet nozzle and a valve arranged in the propellant conduit.
- Suction jet pumps are used in fuel tanks of motor vehicles.
- suction jet pumps are used in fuel tanks to supply fuel from different areas of the fuel tank of a conveyor unit, which promotes the fuel from the fuel tank to an internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle.
- part of the fuel pumped by the fuel pump is branched off and fed via the blowing agent line to the suction jet pump.
- the fuel pump should promote as fast as possible fuel in sufficient quantity to the engine.
- a valve is arranged in the propellant line, which opens only when the system pressure is reached, so that, in particular during a starting process, the entire delivered fuel is first supplied to the internal combustion engine.
- the fuel pump In order nevertheless to ensure a sufficient supply of the internal combustion engine with fuel during a starting process, the fuel pump must be dimensioned so that it supplies in addition to the increased demand for the internal combustion engine and the increased flow rate for the ejector due to the open valve. These two increased flow rates lead to over-dimensioning of the fuel pump. Such fuel pumps require much more space and are more expensive.
- the invention is therefore an object of the invention to provide a suction jet pump, which works exclusively when the fuel supply system operates at system pressure.
- the object is achieved in that in the housing a flow opening is arranged, that a valve body is arranged on both sides of the flow-through opening such that the flow-through both on the inlet side and outlet side is closed, and that at least one spring is disposed within the housing in that, until the system pressure is reached, it holds the valve body in a position closing the outlet opening on the outlet side.
- the arranged in the propellant conduit of the suction jet pump valve is closed in the pressureless state by the spring holds the valve body outlet side in a closing the flow-through position.
- the force acting on the valve body is greater than the spring force, whereby the valve body is moved out of the outlet closing the flow-through opening.
- the valve is thus opened and fuel can reach the suction jet pump. If the pressure rises above the system pressure during a starting process, the valve body is moved counter to the spring force until it reaches a position closing the inlet opening on the inlet side, whereby the valve closes.
- the valve according to the invention allows the operation of the suction jet pump in a presettable pressure range, wherein the suction jet pump is switched off below and above this pressure range.
- the suction jet pump operates only under normal conditions, while in critical situations, where first the supply of the internal combustion engine with fuel should be guaranteed, the funded by the fuel pump fuel reaches exclusively to the engine.
- the fuel pump can be made smaller, since the delivery of the fuel pump is determined only at system pressure from the engine and the ejector, while at an operation of the fuel pump above the system pressure, the capacity is determined due to the shutdown of the ejector only by the internal combustion engine.
- the flow opening is particularly simple if it is designed as a panel.
- valve body has two sealing elements which interact on the inlet side and the outlet side with a sealing seat on the throughflow opening.
- the sealing elements of the valve body consist in a simple and therefore cost-effective training of one annular disc, which are arranged on the valve body.
- valve body The structure of the valve body is simplified according to another embodiment, when the sealing elements are arranged with respect to the flow direction on both sides of the aperture such that they surround the flow-through.
- a defined position of the valve body in the open position at system pressure is in a further embodiment achieved in that a second spring is arranged to the first spring, wherein the first spring is designed for the opening pressure of the valve, and the second spring permits further movement of the valve body only above the system pressure. In this way, a movement of the valve body is avoided at system pressure in the open position.
- the springs used may be both compression springs and tension springs, wherein the springs are arranged between the housing and the valve body.
- compression springs are used, they can be arranged in another embodiment between the valve body and the flow opening.
- a shoulder is formed in a further embodiment on the valve body.
- FIG. 1 schematically shows a fuel tank 1 of a motor vehicle with a conveyor unit 2 arranged therein for conveying fuel to an internal combustion engine 3.
- the conveyor unit 2 has a driven by an electric motor 4
- Fuel pump 5 and is connected via a feed line 6 to the internal combustion engine 3.
- a propellant conduit 7 leads to a suction jet pump 8, which promotes fuel to the delivery unit 2.
- the suction jet pump 8 consists of a arranged in the fuel line 7 valve 9, connected to thekulturstoffstrahldüse 10, a mixing tube 11 and a suction port 12, via the fuel through the emerging from themaschinedüse 10 fuel into the mixing tube eleventh is sucked.
- FIG. 2 schematically shows a first embodiment of the valve 9 from FIG. 1 , The direction of flow is indicated by an arrow.
- the valve 9 consists of a valve housing 13 with an inlet 14 and an outlet 15.
- a diaphragm 16 is arranged, which has a flow-through opening 17.
- the valve 9 has a valve body 18 with two disk-like regions 19, 20, which are connected to one another via a central part penetrating through the throughflow opening 17, so that the disk-shaped regions 19, 20 are arranged on the inlet side and outlet side of the throughflow opening 17.
- the two areas 19, 20 have disc-shaped sealing elements 21, 22, which cooperate with the sealing seats 23, 24 of the diaphragm 16.
- a compression spring 25 is arranged, which moves the valve body 18 counter to the flow direction.
- the illustration shows the depressurized state in which no fuel flows through the valve 9.
- the sealing element 21 cooperates with the sealing seat 23 and thus closes the flow-through opening 17.
- valve 9 is shown at system pressure.
- the fuel flowing in via the inlet 14 at system pressure generates a force acting in the direction of flow, which is opposite to the spring force.
- the compression spring 25 is designed so that at system pressure of the valve body 18 as far as in Flow direction is moved, that both sealing elements 21, 22 are not in contact with the sealing seats 23, 24.
- the flow opening 17 is free and the fuel can flow through the valve 9 to the outlet 15 and on to the suction jet pump.
- FIG. 4 shows the valve 9 during a starting operation of the internal combustion engine.
- the fuel pump is controlled so that the pressure in the supply line increases briefly.
- the increased pressure also acts in the fuel line and in the inlet 14 of the valve 9.
- the valve body 18 is further moved in the flow direction until the sealing element 22 of the region 20 bears against the inlet-side sealing seat 24 of the diaphragm 16.
- the flow-through opening 17 is closed, so that no fuel reaches the suction jet pump during the starting process.
- valve 9 differs from the valve FIG. 2 in the arrangement of the compression spring 25.
- the compression spring 25 is supported between the diaphragm 16 and the region 20 of the valve body 18.
- the area 20 has a paragraph 26.
- the shoulder 26 serves as a guide for the compression spring 25 and on the other hand ensures sufficient space in the axial extent when the compression spring 25 is compressed.
- FIG. 6 shows the valve 9 with a tension spring 27 which is mounted on the inlet side between the housing 13 and the valve body 18 and the valve body 18 in the pressureless state against the flow direction moves such that the sealing element 21 cooperates with the sealing seat 23 of the diaphragm 16 so that the Valve 9 is closed.
- FIG. 7 the valve 9 at system pressure.
- the compression spring 25 behaves according to their design as in the FIGS. 2 to 4 ,
- the compression spring 28 is harder and designed with a shorter overall length, wherein the length and the spring stiffness of the compression spring 28 is selected so that at system pressure, the valve body 18 is moved due to the force acting on it in the flow direction until it bears against the compression spring 28, without the compression spring 28 is compressed. In this position, the valve 9 is in an open position. In this way, a defined position at system pressure is created for the valve body 18.
- the force acting on the valve body 18 force is greater than the spring forces of the compression springs 25, 28, so that the valve as in FIG. 4 behaves.

Description

Fig. 2 . -
- In
