Abstract

La présente invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé permettant de commander l'épaisseur d'un revêtement métallique sur un élément métallique allongé (1), ce revêtement étant conçu pour être appliqué par transport continu de l'élément dans un bain (2) de métal fondu, cet élément étant transporté du bain dans une direction de transport (3) le long d'un trajet (x) de transport prédéterminé. Ce dispositif comprend au moins une paire d'éléments d'essuyage électromagnétiques, comprenant un élément d'essuyage sur chaque côté de cet élément (1) permettant d'essuyer l'excès de métal fondu sur cet élément par application d'un champ magnétique mobile et, chaque élément d'essuyage comprend une tige d'essuyage (5). Ce dispositif comprend au moins une paire d'éléments stabilisateurs électromagnétiques, comprenant un élément stabilisateur de chaque côté de l'élément (1) permettant de stabiliser la position de cet élément par rapport au trajet (x) de transport prédéterminé, cet élément stabilisateur comprenant une tige stabilisatrice (5). L'élément d'essuyage et l'élément stabilisateur situés du même côté de l'élément (1) sont agencés de sorte que la tige d'essuyage (5) et la tige stabilisatrice (5) coïncident.
