Definitions
- the invention relates to a blanket for intaglio gravure printing with at least a first region having a first roughness, wherein in at least one second region a lower second roughness and / or a predefinable depression than the first roughness and / or a predeterminable depression and / or in comparison to the first region specifiable lower modulus of elasticity is provided.
- Intaglio intaglio printing also known as steel gravure gravure printing, uses high contact pressures to produce a tactile tactile image that is not achieved with other conventional printing processes.
- This tactility is a security feature, which is why intaglio gravure is usually used in the printing of security documents, such as banknotes, bonds, documents or the like. Due to the high contact pressure, the security document is rolled out during the printing process and changed in size. An approximately uniform size change and thus compliance with predefinable tolerances can be achieved by the use of blankets with a rough surface, wherein the structure of the blanket is impressed on the opposite side of the printed side.
- the structure of the printing blanket is also transferred to the film element, as a result of which an intensive loss of the film quality is generally produced in its gloss properties. In this case, a loss in the information content occurs, whereby the safety value of the film element is reduced.
- the EP 1 026 004 A1 relates to a blanket, which has a different surface roughness, total surface energy or surface energy with Pol decision in transverse extent, wherein the blanket is constant in Umfaugsraum.
- the EP 1216 832A shows a cylinder jacket profile for counter-pressure or sheet transfer cylinder in sheetfed presses.
- a surface coating is provided on the chromium layer, this as a light cleaning layer with a layer thickness of less than 5 microns.
- the DE 24 52 752 A1 deals with a device on multicolor rotary offset printing machines having at least one plate cylinder and a rubber cylinder adjacent to a printing cylinder for influencing the Passerhaltmaschine.
- the EP 0 878 326 A2 Treats a tubular cloth for use on the cylinder of a printing machine.
- the surface of the tubular cloth is divided into two areas: Im first area, the main area, the cloth comes into contact with the paper web.
- the second area, the edge area, is outside the paper web.
- the tubular cloth in the second area has a smaller wall thickness than in the main area.
- the transparent blanket comprises a transparent print layer which is designed to apply the coating to a board, a paper, a film and to laminates, and a transparent support layer.
- the US 2 638 050 A shows a pressure roller for Intagliodruck with a corrugation.
- the corrugation of varying depth is formed on the surface of a pressure element.
- the US Pat. No. 3,817,209 A describes a method for gravure coating on an article, in particular a cylinder, an aluminum or a steel bushing.
- the printing pattern respectively the pattern of the printing cylinder, has three zones: a central band, a first and a second marginal band, the two marginal bands representing the overlapping printing area on the article.
- the US 5,251,989 A describes an apparatus for producing multicolor printing tapes.
- the US 5,463,953 A deals with a device and method to print identity cards with blind-hole-shaped recesses.
- the object of the invention is to provide a blanket of the type mentioned, in which the known disadvantages are avoided and can be printed with the security documents with applied film elements, while sparing the film elements in intaglio gravure.
- the second region is arranged in the printing region and is designed as a receptacle for at least a second section of an optically variable element, in particular an effect foil or an effect color, of a security doloma, and in that the second region comprises a plurality of receptacles, which are arranged in a grid.
- optically variable elements wherein, in addition to an effect foil, for example, an effect color may also be provided.
- the optically variable element can be arranged on the side to be printed or on the side opposite thereto.
- both sides of the security document may also have intaglio intaglio printing.
- optically variable element can be applied before the printing step with the blanket.
- the printing of a part of the optically variable element may be provided.
- a substantially continuous transition is formed between the first region and the second region, as a result of which sudden changes in the stress on the security element during the printing process, which can lead to damage of the security document, are largely avoided ,
- the invention further relates to a method for printing a security document in the intaglio gravure printing method, wherein the security document at least one optically variable element, in particular an effect foil or an effect color having, and wherein a printing cylinder opposite a impression cylinder with a blanket with at least a first region with a first roughness is arranged.
- Another object of the invention is to provide a method of the type mentioned above, in which the known disadvantages are avoided, can be printed with the security documents with applied film elements while protecting the film elements in intaglio gravure.
- optically variable element can be arranged on the side to be printed or on the side opposite thereto. In particular, both sides of the security document may also have intaglio intaglio printing.
- the optically variable element opposite side of the security document is printed by intaglio gravure printing, whereby the optically variable element can be applied in particular already in papermaking and optionally at least partially embedded in the paper.
- the optically variable element is brought into contact with the first area in a predefinable first section and with the second area in a predeterminable second section.
- a surface structure different from the second section of the optically variable element is generated, whereby a further security feature can be formed.
- FIG. 1 An embodiment of a printing blanket 1 according to the invention for intaglio gravure printing is shown.
- Intaglio intaglio printing also known as steel gravure gravure printing, uses high contact pressures to produce a tactile tactile image that is not achieved with other conventional printing processes.
- This tactility is a security feature, which is why the intaglio intaglio usually od in the printing of security documents 4, such as banknotes, bonds, documents od. Like., is used.
- Fig. 2 a structure of a spinning cylinder 3, a counter cylinder 2 with a blanket 1 and a security document 4 is shown schematically. Due to the high contact pressure, the security document 4 is rolled out during the printing process and changed in size.
- the printing blanket 1 has at least a first region 11 with a first roughness, wherein this first roughness ensures compliance with the predeterminable tolerance.
- the first region 11 therefore has a rough surface.
- This in Fig. 1 illustrated blanket 1 has a contiguous first area 11.
- the first region 11 may also comprise separate subregions.
- the second region 12 may have, in particular, a lower second roughness which can be predefined with respect to the first roughness and / or a predefinable depression 15 and / or a lower modulus of elasticity than the first region 11.
- the second region 12 differs from the first region in a degree exceeding the manufacturing tolerances, wherein, in particular, the differences in the surface condition can be intentionally generated and predefined.
- the second region 12 has a depression 15 in relation to the first region 11. This version was chosen because of the ease of representation.
- the second region 12 can already be formed during the production of the printing blanket 1 or in a subsequent working step by partially changing the surface. If the second region 12 has a lower roughness, in particular if it is formed with a substantially smooth surface, then the second region 12 can be produced by partial cold volcanizing of printing blankets 1 having a rough surface. Furthermore, the surface of a printing blanket 1 can be changed by an imprint, whereby customary printing processes, in particular screen printing, can be provided. In other embodiments, the use of adhesive films or laminates may be provided to form the second region 12. Further, combinations of the above-described treatments of a rough-surfaced printing blanket 1 may be provided to form the second regions 12. For a long service life of the blanket 1, the second surface 12 should have a temperature resistance up to about 80 ° C, a high pressure stability and a high elongation stability.
- the second region 12 can be provided for cooperation with an optically variable element 5, in particular an effect foil or an effect color, of the security document 4 during the printing process.
- an optically variable element 5 in particular an effect foil or an effect color
- the impressing of the surface structure of the first region 11 in the optically variable element 5 can be effectively prevented, wherein a change of the optically variable element 5 can be largely avoided by the different surface finish of the second region 12.
- a substantially continuous transition can be formed. This can ensure that sudden changes in the stress on the security element during the printing process, which can lead to damage to the security document, are largely avoided.
- the optically variable element 5 is at least partially brought into contact with a second region 12 of the blanket 1 in contact.
- the optically variable element 5 is passed through the gap between the impression cylinder 3 and the impression cylinder 2.
- the optically variable element 5 can be arranged on the side adjacent to the counter-pressure cylinder or else on the side of the security document 4 adjoining the printing cylinder 3.
- the Intaglio intaglio may partially overlap the optically variable element 5, whereby a high level of security of the security document is achieved.
- the optically variable element 5 is brought into contact with the first region 11 in a prescribable first section 51 and with the second region 12 in a predeterminable second section 52. This will make the optically variable Element 5 during the printing process in the first section 51 changed, but left substantially unchanged in the second section.
- This difference of the optically variable element 5 represents another security feature.
- the first section and the second section may be formed, for example, figuratively or to form a code.
- the second area 12 is arranged in the printing area, wherein the printing area is the area in which the security document 4 is printed during the printing process.
- the second region 12 can be designed as a receptacle for at least the second section 52 of an optically variable element 5, in particular an effect foil or an effect color, of a security document 4.
- the second region 12 may comprise a plurality of images, which are arranged in a grid.

Description

- In
In
