Definitions
- the invention relates to an intake pipe according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Intake pipes with sound-absorbing properties are arranged in the air intake tract of internal combustion engines between the unfiltered air inlet and the cylinder head of the internal combustion engine.
- the charge change of the internal combustion engine creates an air pulsation which causes vibrations in the intake system and leads to undesired acoustic and mechanical loads.
- EP 0 859 906 discloses a silencer which has a plurality of resonator chambers between a gas inlet and a gas outlet.
- the tubular resonators and the flow cross section are formed by the joining of two housing parts. Between the two housing parts runs along the housing walls of the individual resonators and the main flow cross-section a parting plane.
- a disadvantage of this design is that when joining the housing walls a large connection surface must be sealed sealing. This interface causes a high production cost and interrupts a smooth pipe wall. Furthermore, a resonator with this design method relies on a large-area plate-shaped installation space.
- the object of the invention is to provide an intake silencer, which is simple, reliable and economical to produce and can be variably adapted to the installation space. This object is solved by the features of patent claim 1.
- the intake pipe according to the invention serves for air guidance and the defined damping of the pulsation frequencies occurring in the air intake tract of an internal combustion engine.
- the intake pipe has an inflow side, which may be connected to a raw air pipe, an air filter housing or an intermediate flange.
- the outflow side is preferably connected to a throttle valve, to a clean air tube or to a suction tube leading to the cylinder head.
- the intake pipe according to the invention can be positioned in the flow direction before or after the air filter or directly to the intake port.
- the upstream and downstream connections are preferably sealed by elastic intermediate flanges and are fastened by clamps, clamping elements or known from the prior art fasteners.
- the main flow cross section is formed between the inflow side and the outflow side and is flowed through by the entire air mass sucked in by the internal combustion engine.
- the walls of the main flow cross-section are preferably hollow cylindrical and separate them from a resonator and the surrounding side of the intake pipe.
- connection opening branches off towards the side of the resonator.
- the resonator is enclosed by side walls, which merge in their walls in the walls of the main flow cross section in their entire circumference.
- the intake pipe is at least two parts made of a base body and at least one lid.
- the main body forms the main flow cross section and a part of the resonator chamber.
- the lid closes the resonator chamber to the surrounding side.
- the lid is a flat disc which sealingly connects the sidewalls of the resonator with its peripheral contour.
- connection between the cover and the side walls of the resonator forms a parting plane.
- the connection is preferably welded, but may for example also be made by gluing or other joining techniques known in the art. Due to the complete circumferential transition of the side walls of the resonator in the walls of the main flow cross-section, the parting line is outside the walls of the main flow cross-section.
- the wall of the main flow cross section can be produced without a tangent parting plane.
- the intake pipe and the lid can be produced in a primary molding process, in particular by injection molding.
- materials such as polypropylene or polyamide in question.
- a plurality of resonators are arranged on the intake pipe, wherein these may be arranged next to one another or nested one inside the other.
- Side-by-side resonators can be separated from one another by common partitions and have side walls enclosing the surrounding side. These can be closed by a common or multiple covers. It is also possible to arrange the resonators independently next to each other, each resonator having a single sidewall enclosing the surrounding side.
- the resonators can be connected to one another by ribs.
- the resonators can also be arranged nested, wherein the resonators can completely or partially enclose each other.
- partition walls are arranged between the resonators, which form an outer side wall to an outer resonator and an inner side wall to an inner resonator.
- Nesting resonators are preferably closed by a common cover.
- the side walls can be arranged approximately parallel to each other, whereby they can be produced by a single tool part.
- the lid has side walls which correspond to the side walls of the resonators.
- the lid thereby forms part of the resonator space.
- the side walls on the lid side can also be nested.
- the lid does not have to be flat, but can also be arched or stepped.
- a positive aspect of this design is the variable design possibilities of the lid. This can be adapted according to the spatial installation options.
- the resonators are arranged offset on the circumference of the main flow cross-section.
- the branches to the channel of the resonator in the flow direction, for example, on a plane.
- the resonators can be arranged opposite one another or offset from one another at any desired angle.
- the design of a short intake pipe with a plurality of Resonator acids allows. By a circumferentially uniform distribution of the resonators of the load center of the intake pipe can be placed in the main flow cross-section, which can reduce the mounting effort for the intake manifold.
- the resonators in the direction of flow offset from one another. This is necessary where the circumferential space requirement for the required resonance volume is not sufficient and for the intake pipe, a longer section is available. If a plurality of resonators are arranged on a longitudinal side of the intake pipe, the center of gravity of the intake pipe is placed on the resonator side. In this case, it is recommended to arrange fixing contours on the resonators. These are z. As eyelets, ribs, indentations or bdome.
- the fastening contours can be formed by the mold, be made as an insert in conjunction with the intake manifold or the lid or welded or glued to the intake manifold.
- the offset in the flow direction arrangement has the advantage of adapting a plurality of resonators to a longitudinal installation space and to close all with a lid.
- the resonators are designed as quarter-wave and / or Helmholtz resonators.
- the combination of the two resonator types results in a very advantageous use of the installation space, whereby various acoustic tasks can be fulfilled.
- the separation plane between the cover and the side walls of the resonator cavity is curved or stepped.
- the parting plane can close a plurality of peripherally arranged side by side or arranged side by side in the flow direction resonators.
- the resonators are arranged opposite one another on the circumferential side of the main flow cross-section. With two resonators arranged, these are preferably aligned at an angle of 180 degrees to each other. With more than two resonators, the angular offset is evenly divided.
- the individual resonators may include a plurality of resonator cavities. This design forms an advantageous, symmetrical intake manifold with central load center and increased static stability.
- FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a suction pipe 10 in full section, which has a main flow cross-section 14 on a base body 11 between an inflow side 12 and an outflow side 13.
- the inflow side 12 and outflow side 13 are connected to components, not shown, of the air intake tract. These connections are preferably round or oval and can be fastened and sealed, for example, by elastomer couplings.
- These components to be connected may be, for example, throttle bodies, clean air pipes, intake pipes, raw air pipes or air filters.
- the main flow cross section 14 is enclosed by the walls 15.
- the walls 15 separate the main flow section 14 from an environmental side 16 and from the resonators 17, 18 and 19.
- the resonators are two quarter-wave resonators 17, 18, a double resonator 19 and a not shown in section multiple resonator 20.
- the double resonator 19 forms two Helmholtz resonators, which are interleaved.
- an inner resonator 21 is separated by a partition wall 22 of an outer resonator 23.
- the outer resonator 23 encloses the inner resonator 21 in full. All represented resonator chambers 21, 23, 24, 25 communicate with the main flow cross-section 14 through connection openings 26. To the environment side 16, the resonator chambers 21, 23, 24, 25 are sealed by the covers 28a, 28b and the side walls 30.
- the side walls 30 are arranged in a partial area in the covers 28, 29 and in a partial area on the main body 11. Between the covers 28, 29 and the base body 11 extend transversely through the side walls 30, the parting lines 31, which establish a tight connection to the base body 11. These compounds are preferably glued or welded, but can also be made by screws or snap-in connections.
- connecting channels 27 are arranged between the resonator cavities 21, 23 and the connecting openings 26, which compared with the resonator cavities 21, 23 have reduced cross-sectional areas.
- the connecting channels 27 may also adjoin the side walls 30 and use them as a wall.
- the quarter-wave resonators 17, 18 are shown substantially as tubular, cylindrical volumes, which are formed in a partial area by side walls 30 of the main body 11 and in a partial area by side walls 30 of the lid 28b.
- the substantially cylindrically shaped resonator cavities 24, 25 can also be formed in any desired cross-sectional shape and arranged in combination with further resonators.
- the quarter-wave resonators 17, 18 can also be arranged in an arcuate or angled manner on the intake pipe 10.

Abstract
