Definitions
- the present invention relates to a process for dyeing polyester fibers by contacting textiles with a dyebath comprising a textile auxiliary containing a homo-, co- or terpolymer based on 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid (AMPS) and a homo-, co- or Terpolymer based on one or more carboxylic acid containing olefinic double bonds and the use of the mixture for dispersing oligomers.
- AMPS 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid
- Polyester fibers have a steadily increasing share of global fiber production. The most important representative of this type of fiber is polyethylene terephthalate, but other polyesters such as polybutylene terephthalate, etc. are also used [Tetzlaff, G .; Dahmen, M .; Wulfhorst B., man-made fibers / textile industry 43/95 (1993), 508-522]. Polyester fibers are often used in mixture with other types of fibers (cellulose, etc.).
- polyester fiber are due to the production of cyclic oligomers, which migrate during the dyeing process at temperatures above 80 ° C to the fiber surface or emerge from the fiber.
- oligomers which in the case of polyethylene terephthalate are predominantly trimers, are not dyeable and have only low water solubility. Therefore, they crystallize on contact with the aqueous dyeing liquor and cause disturbing on the fabric surface and in dyeing machines Deposits. In addition to a possible unevenness of the coloration, these deposits can lead to contamination, dust and damage to thread guide elements, needles, etc. during further processing.
- the best remedy is alkaline dyeing, in which the oligomers are saponified.
- the choice of alkali-stable disperse dyes is very low [Richter, P .: Chemiefas.Textilind. 44 (1996), 290 - 302].
- alkaline pretreatment of the product Another way to reduce the amount of oligomers on the fiber surface is the alkaline pretreatment of the product.
- the subsequent staining may then be acidic or alkaline, depending on the choice of dye [Yang, Y .; Shiqi, L .: Text. Chem. Color. At the. Dyst. Rep. 32 (2000), 42-46].
- the disadvantage of this process is the change in the pH from alkaline to acid or, in the case of alkaline dyeing, the low selection of alkali-stable disperse dyes.
- Another method of preventing the escape of oligomers from the polyester fiber is "sticking" to the fiber surface with high molecular weight substances.
- the use of such substances is not possible in all dyeing processes.
- the polymers described can be used alone as auxiliaries in washing and dyeing liquors for polyester.
- the polymers can also be used in combination with copolymers of, for example, acrylic acid and maleic acid.
- No. 5,464,452 A describes an environmentally compatible process for fixing dyes which are impregnated in fine-dimensional synthetic textile carrier material.
- the method comprises contacting the colored synthetic support material with a phenol- and formaldehyde-free dye-fixing composition comprising: (a) polymethacrylic acid, (b) copolymer of methacrylic acid consisting essentially of methacrylic acid and ethylenically unsaturated comonomers selected from the group are consisting of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid, sodium vinyl sulfonate, sodium styrenesulfonate, alkyl acrylate, and combinations thereof, (c) combinations of (a) and (b), and (d) water.
- the already dyed fiber material is treated with the described composition.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to provide a process for dyeing polyester fibers by contacting textiles with a dyebath comprising a textile auxiliary with oligomer dispersing properties, which is suitable for overcoming the problem of oligomer deposition in polyester dyeing and especially in acidic and inks alkaline dyebaths can be used.
- the result of the coloring with respect to hue, color depth, levelness and authenticity must not be influenced by the auxiliary used.
- the proportion of ethoxylated compounds should be kept low as far as possible, since they can favor the formation of foam.
- homopolymer refers to a polymer, for example polyacrylic acid, which was obtained by polymerization of the olefinic double bonds of only one monomer with olefinic double bonds
- copolymer or “terpolymer” refers to polymers which by polymerization of the olefinic double bonds of two or three various monomers with olefinic double bonds random, as block polymers, as block copolymers or in any other way were obtained.
- the indices a, b and c, d, e and f define the quantitative ratio of the monomer units to one another, the order of the monomers is thereby determined in any way.
- Block copolymers of the type aa x -bb y -cc y are also included, for example.
- constituent (a) is a homopolymer of a salt of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid, in particular of a sodium salt.
- component b) is a homo-, co- or terpolymer based on acrylic acid and / or maleic acid and optionally an olefin of a composition of general formula (II).
- the constituents a) and b) of the textile auxiliaries are preferably water-soluble.
- Water-soluble in the sense of the invention means that at room temperature at concentrations of the constituent in water up to 400, in particular up to 500 g / l still clear solutions are obtained.
- the ratio of the parts by weight of components (a) to (b) is 90:10 to 10:90, especially 65:35:35:65, especially 60:40 is set to 40 to 60, and more preferably about 50 to 50.
- the process is preferably characterized in that the constituents a) and / or b) used are partly or completely neutralized.
- the mixture preferably has a pH in the range from 4 to 12.
- the neutralization improves the solubility in water. This is advantageous because working in aqueous dyeing liquors.
- the textile auxiliaries used in the process according to the invention additionally comprise, in one embodiment of the invention, further constituents such as detergents, dyeing accelerators, leveling agents, dispersants for stabilizing the dye dispersion, buffers, wrinkle inhibitors and / or after-cleaners.
- further constituents such as detergents, dyeing accelerators, leveling agents, dispersants for stabilizing the dye dispersion, buffers, wrinkle inhibitors and / or after-cleaners.
- the invention relates to a process in which a textile auxiliaries is used which contains a total of 5 to 50, in particular 10 to 40, percent by weight, based on the total weight of the textile auxiliaries, of components a) and b).

Description
Det. 33 (1996), 252 - 259; Hodul P. et al.: Vlákna a textil 5 (1998), 12 - 18].
- a) 10 bis 70 Gew.-% monoethylenisch ungesättigten C4-8-Dicarbonsäuren bzw. deren Salzen,
R1 = CO-NH-C(CH3)2-CH2SO3R8
R2 = H und/oder CH3
R3 = H, COOH und/oder COOM
R4 = H, COOH, COOM, CONH2, CH3, (C2 bis C6)-Alkyl, Phenyl und/oder substituiertes Phenyl
R5 = H und/oder CH3
R6 = H, COOH und/oder COOM
R7 = H, COOH, COOM, CONH2, CH3, (C2 bis C6)-Alkyl, Phenyl und/oder substituiertes Phenyl
R8 = H und/oder M
M = Alkalimetall, Erdalkalimetall, Ammonium, Amin und/oder substituiertes Amin
mit der Maßgabe, dass a + b + c = 1 und
a = 0,1 bis 1,0,
b = 0,0 bis 0,9 und
R9 = H, COOH, COOM und/oder CONH2
R10 = COOH, COOM und/oder CONH2
R11 = H und/oder CH3
R12 = H, COOH und/oder COOM
R13 = H, COOH, COOM, CONH2, CH3, (C2 bis C6)-Alkyl, Phenyl und/oder substituiertes Phenyl.
R14 = H und/oder CH3
R15 = H, COOH und/oder COOM
R16 = H, COOH, COOM, CH3, (C2 bis C6)-Alkyl, Phenyl und/oder substituiertes Phenyl
M = Alkalimetall, Erdalkalimetall, Ammonium, Amin und/oder substituiertes Amin
mit der Maßgabe, dass d + e + f = 1 und
d = 0 bis 0,50,
e = 0 bis 0,50 und
Anschließend lässt man abkühlen.
