- the invention relates to a method for cooling a roller device, comprising a right bearing housing, a left bearing housing and a roller which is rotatably supported by bearing journals in the bearing housings, in particular of strand guide, roller table, transport, support or driver rollers in continuous casting, in which a cooling medium is passed through an axial bore in the roller and a roller device.
- a rotary feedthrough for the cooling water supply and discharge is known, a guide roller in a continuous casting plant.
- This invention has for its object to provide a rotary feedthrough of the aforementioned type, the effective between the cover plate and the journal sealing construction is less expensive than the seal in the known rotary feedthrough.
- This object is achieved in that the middle part of the seal is designed as an annular, flange-like membrane made of plastic or rubber, with its inner edge on the outside the bushing and vulcanized with its outer edge to the flange.
- This rotary feedthrough is characterized by its simple constructive and compact design. It can be completely mounted on the front side of the journal. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to increase in diameter the axial channel of the distribution system in the cooling roller in the front end portion of the Algerzapfens to accommodate parts of the seal.

- the cooling medium is thereby promoted by an axial bore in the role on the opposite side, deflected there and again by an annular channel directed to the output side, from where there is a connection to a cooling and storage tank.
- the present invention seeks to increase the cooling effect of such a roller device and to improve the assembly and disassembly of the individual components.
- the cooling medium from the bearing housing is passed through a flanged on the front side rigid or flexible connector in the rotary feedthrough.
- An advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the centrally arranged in the bearing cap rotary feedthrough is connected by a rigid or flexible connecting piece with the outlet bore on the end face of the bearing housing.
- Another advantage is that the rotary feedthrough is releasably secured in the bearing cap.
