Abstract

A tongue (1) and a groove (2) are individually formed on opposite side edges (I,II). An elastic varnish layer (3) is applied to a pattern e.g. wood grain printed onto a top side. An inelastic varnish layer (4), which is harder than the elastic varnish layer, is applied to the elastic varnish layer.

Description

The invention relates to a wood-based panel, in particular a floor panel, with a tongue formed on at least one side edge, a groove formed on the opposite side edge, a top side and a bottom side, and with a decor printed directly on the top side.

Floor panels with a wooden base plate are commonly referred to as laminate panels and have been for many years for the substitution of parquet in the trade. The desired decor (parquet, wood grain, tiles, etc.) is printed on a paper web, which is then coated with resin and rolled up on a roll. The thus prepared decorative sheet is placed on the carrier plate and pressed at the floor manufacturer. By printing the decoration on the paper web, the subsequent sealing of the paper web with synthetic resin and the subsequent bonding of the decorative layer to the carrier plate by pressure and temperature, the paper web changes in dimensions. The expert speaks of the paper growing. The paper grows both in length (length growth) and in width (width growth). When this decorative panel is now cut to individual panels should be considered, the length and width growth, because otherwise an uneven decor distribution on the individual panels would be present. This would mean that the floor composed of an unequally distributed decorative layer has decorative jumps on the connecting edges of the panels. Even if such decorative jumps are only a few millimeters, they are noticeable when viewed, which adversely affects the aesthetic impression and thus reduces the quality of the floor designed.

In order to be able to produce in a quality-appropriate manner, the paper growth must be recorded and the saw, which saws the panels from the carrier plate, adjusted accordingly. A manual adjustment is very expensive. The DE 100 19 054 describes a method for cutting panels from a carrier plate, with which the saw can be automatically adapted to the paper growth. This requires cameras that determine the actual position of defined decorative points. The actual position is thus compared to the desired position and the deviation of the latitude or longitude is determined, so that the saw can be adjusted accordingly.

The sound insulation properties of laminate panels are inferior compared to parquet. In order to reduce the noise when walking on the floor, either insulating mats are made of plastic on the subfloor on which then the panels are placed, or it is factory already applied to the underside of the support plate an insulating layer.

Due to the necessary insulating layer on the one hand, the floor construction thicker. For retrofitting rooms with laminate panels (for example, as a replacement for carpeting), it is desirable if the panels are thin. On the other hand, the application of the insulating layer on the underside of the carrier plate requires a further operation and additional material, which increases the production costs. The laying out of an insulating foil on the subfloor must be done very carefully in order to lead to an effective insulation of the impact sound.

From the WO 01/48333 A1 a method for the production of floor panels of the type described above is known in which a decor is applied by printing on the top of a core layer of wood material. Subsequently, an at least partially transparent wear layer is applied to the upper side of the core layer, or applied by applying resin-impregnated and α-cellulose-containing layers. If the wear layer consists of a paint, the paint is applied in several layers. Depending on requirements, corundum particles are introduced into the individual paint layers of the wear layer so that the outer paint layers have a higher wear resistance than the inner paint layers. Although this method solves the problem of paper growth. A solution for the impact sound insulation is not given.

The WO 03/16655 A1 describes a floor panel with a hard topcoat. Below the hard cover layer at least one sound-absorbing layer is provided, which is integrated in the floor panel. This sound-absorbing layer consists for example of cork or a synthetic material.

The EP 1 262 607 A1 discloses a floorboard of a wood material, in particular MDF or HDF, to which a decorative layer and a wear layer are applied. On the back of the decorative layer facing the carrier plate, a polyurethane layer is applied.

The EP 0 884 172 A2 discloses a wood-based panel for use as a floor covering or wall covering in which the central backing layer is made of plywood. On one side of the carrier layer, a surface layer is attached and on the opposite side of an insulating layer of cork.

The DE 203 15 676 U1 describes a panel, in particular floor panel, with a core of MDF or HDF and a decor applied to the visible side. The visible side is provided on at least one side edge with a bevel running at an angle thereto, which also has a decor.

Starting from this problem, the wood-based panel initially described is to be improved.

The problem is solved in a generic wood-based panel characterized in that applied to the decor a first elastic lacquer layer and on the first lacquer layer, a second lacquer layer is applied, which is less elastic and harder compared to the first lacquer layer.

Due to the design of the plate according to the invention, the paper layer is first eliminated. The decor can therefore change neither in length nor in width. The saw, with which later panels are cut, can be pre-set. The elastic paint layer, which is applied directly to the decor, dampens the impact sound, so that the impact sound properties are improved. The applied to the elastic lacquer layer, less elastic and harder, preferably inelastic lacquer layer prevents wear due to abrasion or damage to the surface. The inelastic second lacquer layer can be used to set a surface hardness that corresponds to that of conventional laminate floor panels.

In the second coat layer corundum particles may be interspersed to increase the abrasion resistance of the floor panel.

The lacquers of the lacquer layers are preferably UV-curable, whereby the production times are shortened.

In order to make the printed decor look brilliant, the paint layers are preferably transparent.

Preferably, a tongue is also formed on a further side edge and a groove is formed on the side edge opposite thereto.

If the spring and the groove are provided with locking means which prevent displacement of two interconnected panels transversely to the direction of connection, the floor can be installed floating glueless.
