Definitions
- the invention relates to a coupling for coaxial cable according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Couplings for coaxial cables with spring-loaded connecting elements are known from the documents US 3, 416, 125, which describes a coupling according to the preamble of claim 1, US 4, 012, 105 or US 6, 053, 777.
- Such a coupling can be significant in many industrial applications where coaxial cables need to be disassembled and coupled together quickly and easily during maintenance, for example.
- a coupling can be used with rigid coaxial conductors, as used for example in a nuclear facility or a nuclear power plant for the transmission of electrical signals or pulses.
- TDR measuring principle time-domain reflectometry
- the TDR measurement principle utilizes the effect that an electromagnetic pulse conducted in an antenna system is partially reflected when the impedance between, for example, a center conductor of the antenna and a sheath conductor surrounding it in the manner of a coaxial cable changes abruptly.
- Such an abrupt change in impedance occurs, for example, where the antenna thus formed from a gaseous environment immersed in a liquid, since the impedance of the capacitance between the central conductor and the sheath conductor and thus of the dielectric constant of the space between the central conductor and sheath conductor filling medium depends.
- One of such in that too conductor and sheath conductor filling medium depends.
- An electromagnetic pulse supplied to such an antenna, which is immersed in the medium to be monitored, is thus partially reflected at the surface of the medium. Another reflection occurs at the usually shorted antenna end.
- the propagation time difference between the pulse reflected at the boundary layer and the pulse reflected at the antenna end can be used as a measure of the position of the boundary layer and thus as a means of determining a boundary layer characteristic Position characteristic value are used, with a substantially proportional dependence between the transit time difference and position characteristic value can be used.
- rigid coaxial conductors can be used, in particular in order to ensure the high signal quality required for reliable data acquisition. However, it may still be necessary, for example, during maintenance, to make the reactor pressure vessel accessible. To make this possible even with a use of rigid coaxial with little effort, a coupling device is desirable, which allows segments of the Coaxial conductor between the aforementioned two bushings quickly and easily disassemble and sixteenzukuppeln.
- the coupling In order to keep the disturbance and attenuation of the electromagnetic pulse in such a system as low as possible at the coupling point, the coupling should meet high requirements.
- the impedances should be kept constant over the length of the conductor or at least not change discontinuously, so that disturbing reflections on impedance jumps are best avoided for the measurement.
- Particularly important for a reliable transmission of the electromagnetic pulse is a high-quality electrical contact between connected by the coupling conductors.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a coupling of the type mentioned above, which is both simple and quick to use as well as with high reliability ensures the electrical contact between the coaxial coaxial conductors.
- connection portion of the second coupling piece facing the end of the connecting head is provided with contact fingers, which insert into recesses provided in the connection region of the second coupling piece, wherein the connection region of the second coupling piece is provided with a contact piece, which the or each contact finger has an associated pad.
- the invention is based on the consideration that a coupling mechanism for coaxial cable should be easy to use, so should allow a quick and easy coupling and decoupling of the cable. At the same time, however, the electrical contact between coaxial conductors connected via the coupling should be particularly intensive during operation of the system. To meet these two, in principle, conflicting conditions, the coupling is provided with a device that enhances the contact between the conductors to be coupled in particular.
- the targeted use of the restoring force of a spring element is provided, wherein the spring is loaded when coupling the two coaxial conductors and therefore constantly exerts an electrical contact favoring force on both conductors.
- connection head In order to ensure a particularly intimate contact between the connection head and connection region of the first coupling piece, the connection head is displaceably mounted on the connection region of the first coupling piece.
- the connection head is expediently positioned with the clutch open in such a way that during the assembly of the coupling, the connection region of the first coupling piece moves towards the connection region of the second coupling piece, thereby tensioning the spring element.
- the restoring force of the spring element generated in this way consequently leads to a continuous pressing of the connecting head to the first coupling piece and thus to a particularly reliable electrical connection.
- the contact fingers cause both a centering of the connection head with respect to the longitudinal axis of the coupling and the production of the electrical contact between the connection head and connection area. Due to the interaction of the contact fingers with the associated recesses and in particular with contact surfaces arranged in them, a sufficient contact with the connecting region supporting it is ensured at all times even when the connecting head is displaced in the longitudinal direction.
- the contact fingers of the connection head enclose a contact piece which is attached to the connection region of the second coupling piece and serves to ensure electrical contact between the connection head and the connection region.
- the contact fingers are located on a larger or smaller area of the contact piece. The contact piece thus has the additional task to reliably maintain the electrical contact between the connection head and connection area of the second coupling piece even with varying length of the spring.
- the connecting head fits into a recess provided in the connection region of the first coupling piece such that it thereby centers itself relative to the longitudinal axis of the coupling.
- the shape of the connecting head may be in particular convex and in a corresponding concave Insert recess in the connection region of the first coupling piece, wherein both the connection head and the recess are rotationally symmetrical about the longitudinal axis of the coupling.
- a conical recess in the connection region of the first coupling piece is advantageous, with which corresponds a shaped in the manner of a truncated cone connecting head.
- a retaining screw is anchored to the connection region of the second coupling piece, holds the connection head at the connection area and prevents a complete solution of the connection head with the coupling open.
- the sheath of each coupling piece is equipped with a mounting flange, which allows a connection of the coupling pieces together.
- a circumferential seal is mounted between the mounting flanges, which allows a tight closure of the coupling.
- a closure element which allows to hold the two coupling pieces firmly.
- a closure element is adapted in its shape and contour of those of the mounting flanges and encloses the mounting flanges in the connected state.
- the closure element is a clamping ring with a spring clip, which allows a particularly simple and fast operation of the coupling.
- an unwanted attenuation of the electromagnetic pulse can be excluded or at least minimized that the impedances do not change or only slightly over the length of the coupling point.
- the system 1 according to FIG. 1 is provided for monitoring a medium M within the connected reactor pressure vessel 2 of a technical facility.
- the reactor pressure vessel 2 is arranged within a closed executed and in Figure 1 only suggestively shown containments 4.
- For suitable exchange of signals S is the reactor pressure vessel 2 via a signal line 6, the is passed through a containment 8 through the containment 4, connected to a communication interface 10 of the system 1.
- water W is provided in the exemplary embodiment in the reactor pressure vessel 2, which serves as a primary coolant of the nuclear facility.
- the water w is present in the so-called supercooled state unmixed.
- exclusively evaporated primary coolant ie exclusively steam D, before.
- the medium M stored in the container 2 thus has a first boundary layer 12 between water W and the phase mixture W, D and a second boundary layer 14 between the phase mixture W, D and the vapor D.

- the coaxial cable 16 is led out of the reactor pressure vessel via an electrical feedthrough 18 and connected to the signal line 6.
- the communication interface 10 connected to the signal line 6 is in turn connected to a pulse generator 20 generating the electromagnetic pulses and to an evaluation and control unit 22 having an output module 24 and a memory module 26.
- the evaluation and control unit 22 is still connected to other, necessary for proper operation components such as an input device.

Abstract
Description
Darin zeigen:
- FIG 1
- FIG 2
- im Querschnitt eine Kupplung für Koaxialkabel,
- FIG 3
