Definitions
- the invention is directed to a billiard-like game comprising a flat, of a gang limited play area, on the at least one ball by pushing is movable by means of a cue, wherein the band at least partially along a curved curve.
- Playing surfaces of commercial billiard tables are rectangular.
- the straight stretched band it is comparatively easy for experienced players, the To accurately predict the rebound angle of a ball striking the band in order to be able to routinely execute even complicated appearing strokes. Therefore, it can happen with such good players that the attraction to the Billiard play wears off over time.
- German Utility Model G 89 03 244 the German Offenlegungsschriften 24 56 658 and 35 01 319 A1, further the European Offenlegungsschrift 0 879 623 A2 and WO 86/05995 Playing surfaces for pool tables presented by a circular running Band be limited.
- This is the way to play against the conventional billiard playing area with rectangular outline interesting, because the rebound angle of a colliding ball to the band, which is approximately equal to the Impingement angle is not only dependent on the direction of movement of the ball, but also from the place of the impact, because the course of the gang changes. Therefore, more interesting ball tracks can result.
- the invention results initiating problem to create a playing surface for a pool table that completely Novel shocks allowed, so that even trained billiards their technique evolve and possibly even improve.
- the invention allows an optimization in that the band in the range a transition point between two continuously curved Band sections forms an edge inclined towards the center of the game. This edge lies in a vertical plane through the center of the field and thus receives its high, technical flexibility.
- the inclination results from the overhanging Profile of the gang in general, again from the preferred contact point between band and ball results, namely approximately at the height of the ball equator.
- Such an edge in the area of a transition point between two continuously Curved strip sections can be in a corner or at their upper end even pass over the top, which then the above-mentioned, small horizontal Curvature radius has.
- This projecting corner is about on Height of the equator of a billiard ball and therefore forms on impact a ball the only point of contact between sphere and gang.
- the horizontal radius of curvature should be smaller than a Tenths, preferably less than a hundredth, especially less than five One hundredth of the (mean) radius of curvature in a curved one Band section.
- the convexly curved projection becomes like a Corner further developed, where regardless of the origin of a sphere always gives about the same (point-shaped) interface.
- Such a strong curvature in the area of a corner or transition point between two continuously curved band sections can be thereby achieve that the horizontal radius of curvature is smaller there than 10 mm, preferably less than 5 mm, in particular less than 2 mm.
- the minimum The radius of curvature is likely to be determined by the thickness of a felt-like, for example Reference material is given, which is drawn around the corner in question.
- the radius of curvature at least a part of a continuously curved band section is smaller than the distance of this part from the center or the center of gravity of the playing surface. This measure also helps in the simplest way the desired, for Play surface toward protruding projections to produce.
- the radius of curvature of a continuously curved band section between its projection or corner-shaped edge or transition areas is constant. This results a manageable behavior of a rebounding ball, which is a precise Game allows.
- the two - sided tangents should be in the place of a Transition area between two continuously curved Banden sections with each other to the center of the game open angle including each other, which is smaller than 180 °, preferably smaller than 150 °, especially less than 120 °, on the other hand, such, to the center of the game open angle greater than 0 °, preferably greater than 30 °, in particular greater than 60 °.
- a rebound angle between about 0 ° and 180 ° realize.
- the playing field or its Edge or band point symmetrical to the center or the center of gravity of the His playing field.
- such symmetry leads to one particular aesthetic appearance of the game according to the invention; on the other hand such symmetry makes it easier to find one's way on the playing surface, and Finally, one can then be in each point-symmetric section consistent game strategy to be followed.
- a special characteristic finds the above-mentioned symmetry principle in that two transition points adjacent to each other along the band the same distances between two continuously curved strip sections exhibit.
- a manufacturing simplification can be achieved that the the playing field facing side of the band in a continuous curved band section along a conical surface extends.
- the playing style of a pool billiard may vary in the range of one continuously curved band section in front of or near the band in each case at least one hole in the playing surface are. This can be a player set the goal to play certain balls in certain holes to win the game.
- the billiard game table 1 of Figure 1 comprises a flat playing surface 2, of a Band 3 is limited.
- the band 3 has a Cross-section with a over the playing surface 2 overhanging area 4, the its upper end merges into an edge 5, which is approximately level with the Equator of a ball 6 of this billiard game is located, so at the height of the largest Horizontal section of this ball 6.
- the (vertical) distance of horizontal edge 5 of the band 3 of the playing surface 2 corresponds approximately to Radius of the ball 6.
- transition points 11 - 14 between each continuous curved band areas 7 - 10 is ever an approximately rectangular Corner of the horizontal edge 5. These corners are relatively sharp with a (convex) horizontal radius of curvature of, for example, 1 - 2 mm.
- One in it impacting ball 6 can therefore depending on the relative position of the impinging Spherical surface are deflected to the ball track in almost any angle, which gives the game according to the invention its great appeal.
- the four corner-shaped transitional areas 11 - 14 also form the corner points a square 15, on whose sides 16 each one of the semi-circular Arches 7 - 10 of the band 2 bulges outwards. This gives the playing surface 2 point-symmetric properties with respect to the center 17 of the playing surface 2, which is also the center of the square 15.
- the center 17 can also be used as a starting point on the the white ball 6 is to be placed at the beginning of the game.
- These balls 6 are to be played in holes 18 of the Playing surface 2, which is within small recesses 30 in the curved portions 7-10 of the band 2 are located.
- Each such hole 18 is in the middle of a semicircular arc 7-10 and has a clear opening diameter larger than that Diameter of a ball 6.
- the holes 18 extend partially, i.e., about half, in each case a recess 30 of the band 2, whose Floor plan corresponds approximately to the respective hole cross-section.
- the playing surface 2 in different Fields 19 - 23 divided, which are covered with different colored felt.
- the middle square 15 forms a central field 19 and may, for example, be black.
- the remaining fields 20-23 each correspond to an area between a page 16 of the Square 15 and the adjoining, curved curved Section 7 -10 of Volume 2.
- These fields 20 - 23 are in each case different colors, for example with yellow, blue, red, green.
- the play surface structure according to the invention various modifications allows, in particular with regard to the number of continuously curved areas.
- the illustrated structure with four such regions 7-10 of band 2 ( Figure 1) and with two continuous curved areas 25 of the playing surface 26 bounding band 27th ( Figure 3)
- the holes 18, 28 do not have each in the middle of a curved Range 7 - 10, 25 can be arranged, and their number can be compared to the number the curved areas 7 - 10, 25 vary.
- there should not be a hole 18, 28 in the region of a corner-shaped transition point 11 - 14, 29 are located to the There, interesting opportunities to exploit.
