Definitions
- the invention relates to a protective device for armored vehicles, in particular against hollow charge projectiles, with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- the protection module consists of a plate member which is held by means of scissor arms at a variable distance from the wall to be protected.
- the document EP-A-0 379 080 describes a protective device in which plate elements containing an explosive layer are fixed at an acute angle with each other as outwardly facing roof-like structures in front of the wall to be protected. A movement of the plate elements as a whole from a rest position to an active position is not provided.
- a reactive armor module is described, are arranged in front of the wall to be protected first roof-shaped angled sandwich elements containing an explosive layer and can be blown up at the approach of a threat. Again, a movement of the sandwich elements as a whole from a rest position to an active position is not provided.
- the invention has the object of providing a protective device of the type described in the preamble of claim 1 in such a way that the defense of the threat as large a distance of the protection module is accessible from the wall to be protected, on the other hand, but the contour of the vehicle and in particular the prescribed Loading dimensions not enlarged and the protection device in the active position forms a particularly good protection against shaped charge projectiles, while it takes up as little space in the rest position.
- the movements can be generated by means of simple mechanical drive devices, ie also manually, but also by means of electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic drive devices.
- the protection modules can be designed in a manner known per se as sandwiched from several layers plates.
- a second protection module is fixedly arranged between the movable first protection module and the wall to be protected, the design being able to be such that the first protection module is used primarily for protection against HL projectiles and the second protection module primarily for protection against KE projectiles. It is also possible to design the protection modules both as passive armor and as reactive armor.
- FIG. 1 and 2 show an embodiment of a protective device for armored vehicles, in which only the parts of the vehicle essential for the representation of the protective device are shown, namely a part of the vehicle trough or of the vehicle body with a roof plate 1 and the side wall 2 to be protected
- a KE protection module 6 is initially fixed, which can be constructed in a known manner and will not be explained in detail below. Outside this KE protection module, an HL protection module is arranged.
- This HL protection module is composed of two plate elements 4.1 and 4.2, which may consist, for example, in a conventional manner of two delimiting by an air space of separate plates.
- the plate element 4.1 is pivotable about a parallel to the side wall 2 in the region of the roof panel 1 arranged pivot axis 5.1 to the outside.
- the pivot axis 5.1 facing edge 4.11 of the plate element 4.1 is attached to a corresponding pivot lever 5.11.
- the plate element 4.2 is pivotable about a parallel to the side wall 2 and parallel to the pivot axis 5.1 extending pivot axis 5.2 outwards, which is arranged below the pivot axis 5.1 on the side wall 2.
- the edge 4.21 facing this pivot axis 5.2 is fastened to a corresponding pivoting lever 5.21.
- the two plate elements 4.1 and 4.2 are arranged in their rest position parallel to each other and parallel to the side wall 2. In this rest position, in which they rest directly on each other in the illustrated embodiment, they have the smallest possible distance from the side wall 2 and are within a space-limiting contour 3 of the vehicle.
- the plate elements 4.1 and 4.2 by means not shown drive devices to the respective Swivel axis 5.1 and 5.2 in opposite pivotal movements outwardly pivoted into an active position, which is shown in Fig. 2.
- the protection module projects beyond the contour 3 to the outside, and as a result of the inclination of the two plate elements 4.1 and 4.2 optimal protection against approaching HL projectiles is achieved.
- the protective device With this design of the protective device, it is therefore possible to load the vehicle in the rest position of the protection module, in which the prescribed loading dimensions are met, for example in a transport aircraft. In use of the vehicle or even in the event of a threat, the protection module is moved from the rest position to the active position and can be moved back to the rest position after completion of the threat or for loading.
- FIG. 3 shows a variant of the protective device according to FIGS. 1 and 2, in which an even greater distance of the protective module from the side wall of the vehicle to be protected can be achieved.
- components corresponding to the embodiment of Figs. 1 and 2 are provided with the same reference numerals and an apostrophe mark.
- the two plate elements 4.1 'and 4.2' In the rest position of the protection module, not shown, are analogous to the situation shown in FIG. 1, the two plate elements 4.1 'and 4.2' one above the other and parellel to the side wall 2 'in front of the outside of the KE protection module 6' within the vehicle contour 3 '.
- the plate elements 4.1 'and 4.2' are about parallel to each other and the side wall 2 'extending pivot axes 5.1' and 5.2 'pivotally, and the pivoting movement to the outside by means of a drive device, not shown. In this way, the two plate elements 4.1 'and 4.2' initially analogous to the embodiment of FIGS.
- the protection module can now additionally be moved to a second active position.
- the pivot axis 5.1 'at the outer end of the piston rod 7.1 a piston cylinder drive 7 is arranged and the pivot axis 5.2' on a guided support rod 8.

Description
- Fig. 1
- einen Teilschnitt durch ein gepanzertes Fahrzeug mit einer ersten Ausführungsform einer Schutzvorrichtung mit in der Ruhestellung befindlichem Schutzmodul;
- Fig. 2
- die Schutzvorrichtung gemäß Fig. 1 mit in die aktive Stellung bewegtem Schutzmodul;
