Wird der Wasserzulauf 31 weiter geöffnet und pro Zeiteinheit mehr Wasser eingeleitet, sodass die übliche Ablaufleistung des Überlaufrohres 5 kleiner ist als die Zufuhr, so steigt das Niveau 27 über die Höhe der Überlaufkante 6 und schliesslich über die Höhe des Verbindungskanals 40, wie dies in Figur 9 angedeutet ist. Entsprechend steigt das Niveau 29 im kommunizierenden Rohr 8. Durch das Ansteigen des Niveaus 30 wird der Bogen 38 vollständig mit Wasser gefüllt. Der Querschnitt des Überlaufrohres 5 ist nun so dimensioniert, dass sich im Überlaufrohr 5 eine geschlossene Wasserströmung bildet. Eine geschlossene Strömung 34 bildet sich dann, wenn im Rücklaufkanal 19 der Volumenstrom so gross ist, dass er nach der Überlaufkante 6 den ganzen Querschnitt des Rücklaufkanals 19 abschliesst und keine Luft nachströmen kann. Vorzugsweise ist hierzu der Querschnitt des Kanals 19 kleiner als derjenige des Kanals 18. Hat sich eine solche geschlossene Wasserströmung 34 gebildet, so wird die Wassergeschwindigkeit im Kanal 19 wesentlich erhöht und damit entsprechend die Abfuhrleistung verbessert. Nach der Bildung der geschlossenen Wasserströmung 34 wird somit aus der Badewanne 2 mehr Wasser als vorher abgesaugt. Über den Verbindungskanal 40 wird durch die geschlossene Strömung 34 ebenfalls Wasser aus dem kommunizierenden Rohr 8 abgeführt. Das Niveau 29 und auch das Niveau 27 sinken somit vergleichsweise schnell. Die Leistung der geschlossenen Wasserströmung 34 ist so bemessen, dass sie höher ist als die maximal zulässige Zuflussmenge. Diese maximal zulässige Zuflussmenge beträgt bei sanitären Apparaten in der Regel 0,5 bis 0,6 l/Sek. In den meisten Ländern bestehen entsprechende Vorschriften. Das Überlaufrohr 5 ist somit so dimensioniert, dass nach der Bildung der geschlossenen Wasserströmung 34 pro Sekunde mehr als beispielsweise 0,5 bis 0,6 l/Sek. abgeführt wird. Auch bei maximalem Zufluss sinkt somit das Niveau 29, nach dem sich eine geschlossene Wasserströmung 34 gebildet hat. Sinkt nun das Niveau 29 unter die Höhe des Verbindungskanals 40, so strömt durch die Öffnung 16 Luft durch den Verbindungskanal 40 in den Bogen 38, wie dies in Figur 10 mit dem Pfeil 33 angedeutet ist. Claims (11)

  1. Overflow and outlet fitting for sanitary apparatus (2), in particular for vanity units, wash basins, sinks, baths and bidets, with an overflow pipe (5) mounted so that it is hidden and connected to the outlet orifice, which, as viewed in the flow direction, has firstly a riser passage (18) and a return passage (19) after an overflow edge (6), characterised in that, when a predefined water level (27) is reached in the sanitary apparatus (2), the overflow pipe (5) sucks out water in a closed flow (34) and means (7, 8) are provided which interrupt the closed flow if the level drops to a predefined level in a pipe (8) communicating with the sanitary apparatus.

  8. Fitting as claimed in claim 6 or 7, characterised in that the catchment well (3) has an outlet orifice (14) to which the communicating pipe (8) is connected.
  9. Fitting as claimed in one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the catchment well (3) has an open cover (11).
  10. Fitting as claimed in one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that an outlet orifice (10) which can be closed, an orifice (15) for the overflow pipe (5) and an orifice (14) for the communicating pipe (8) are disposed in the catchment well (3).
  11. Fitting as claimed in one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the cross-section of the overflow pipe (5) is dimensioned such that the closed flow (34) is established whenever a predefined water level (27) in the sanitary apparatus (2) is exceeded.
