Abstract

Overflow and drainage fitting for sanitary appliances comprises an overflow pipe connected to a drainage opening and having in the flow direction firstly a vertical channel and after an overflow edge a return channel. On reaching a pre-determined water level (27) in the sanitary appliance, the overflow pipe forms a closed flow (34) that removes water from the sanitary appliance. Preferred Features: The discharge rate of the closed flow is greater than a maximally permissible incoming rate, especially greater than about 0.61/sec.

Description

The invention relates to an overflow and drain set for sanitary Apparatus, in particular washstands, wash basins, sinks, Bathtubs and bidet, with an overflow pipe that matches the Drain opening is connected and seen first in the flow direction a riser and a return channel after an overflow edge having.

An overflow and waste set of the type mentioned is in State of the art from EP 0 446 177 A of the applicant known become. In this the overflow is hidden, whereby the overflow edge the maximum level of water in the sanitary apparatus certainly. Another overflow and waste set with a concealed overflow pipe is also from the EP 0 098 757 became known. With the well-known overflow and Drain fittings are considered disadvantageous in that they are comparative take up a lot of space and in tight spaces, especially behind bathtubs and vanities or are not mountable.

The invention has for its object an overflow and drain set of the type mentioned to create the less space claimed, but still powerful and safe.

The task is with a generic overflow and drain set solved that the overflow pipe when reaching a predetermined water level in the sanitary apparatus with a closed flow sucks water. Becomes a sanitary apparatus, for example a bathtub above the intended level filled, a closed flow forms in the overflow pipe, the high-performance water above the level sucks. Due to the high performance of a closed The overflow pipe can flow with a much smaller diameter or smaller cross-sectional area than previously produced become. Due to the smaller diameter of the overflow pipe is a correspondingly smaller and less space-consuming Execution possible. The smaller size also means lower material consumption and thus lower manufacturing costs as well as a smaller transport volume.

According to a development of the invention, means for interruption the suction flow provided. So it is possible to closed flow targeted when reaching the desired level and safely interrupt and thus the desired level adjust and prevent the tub from being emptied. A particularly simple and safe execution of these agents a communicating pipe that is open at the top and that above the overflow edge is connected to the overflow pipe. falls when the flow is closed, the level in the communicating pipe to a predetermined level, the air flowing in the overflow pipe interrupted the closed flow.

According to a development of the invention, a collecting trough is provided, in which a closable drain and an opening for the overflow pipe are arranged. This makes it a simple construction and easy assembly possible. After further training the invention is also an opening in this trough arranged for the communicating pipe.

Further advantageous features and advantages result from the dependent claims, the description below and the drawing.

According to FIG. 1, the overflow and waste set 1 has one Collection trough 3, which in a manner known per se according to FIG. 3 on a floor 35 of a sanitary body 2, for example one Bathtub, is mounted. There is a cover over the trough 3 11, which has a drain opening 10, an opening 15 for an overflow pipe 5 and an opening 14 for a communicating Pipe 8 covers. In Figure 1, the lid 11 is drawn Cut off reasons. The lid 11 closes the collecting trough 3 does not depict, but forms a here on its edge invisible opening through which water enters the collecting trough 3 arrives.

The drain opening 10 is, according to FIG. 4, with a known one Drain valve 21 can be closed and leads into a siphon or odor trap 20 and in a drain pipe 9 which is connected to a Disposal line not shown here is to be connected.

As FIG. 3 in particular shows, the overflow pipe 5 is covered arranged and thus from the outside with the sanitary unit installed 2 usually not visible. The overflow pipe 5 is like can be seen from below connected to the opening 15 and has a substantially horizontal portion 22 to which a substantially vertically ascending section 36, an arch 38 and a descending section 37. At the bottom At the end of the descending section 37 is a siphon arch or odor trap 12 connected via a connector 17 also in the disposal line mentioned above leads. The ascending section 36 forms one according to FIG Rising channel 18, which at its upper end via an overflow edge 6 leads into a return channel 19 which passes through section 37 is formed.

Runs essentially parallel to the horizontal section 22 a pipe section 13 of the communicating pipe 8, which to the Opening 14 connected and with a vertically rising section 39 is connected. The communicating tube 8 has an opening 16 at an upper end. Below this opening 16 is the communicating tube 8 with a substantially horizontal one Tube 7 connected to the bend 38. The tube 7 forms 2 shows a substantially horizontal connecting channel 40, the cross section of which is significantly smaller than that of the riser duct 18. The opening 16 can be seen over the overflow edge 16 and also over the connecting channel 40 arranged, but is according to Figure 3 below a Edge 4 of the sanitary apparatus 2. The opening 16 is thus also arranged hidden. The opening 16 is however preferably immediately below the edge 4, as in FIG. 3 reveals.

The mode of operation according to the invention is described below Drain fitting explained in more detail.

25 gefüllt.FIG. 6 shows a bathtub 2 on which one according to the invention Overflow and waste set 1 is connected and with a water inlet 31, for example a conventional water tap can be filled with water 28. Is the bathtub 2 in accordance with FIG. 6 empty, the siphon 20 with water 23 and the sifon 12 filled with water 26. Sections 22 and 13 are also filled with water 24 or 25.

If, according to FIG. 7, the tub 2 is filled with water, it forms an increasing water level 27 in the bathtub 2. The drain opening 10 is of course closed. Since the openings 14 and 15 are open and the lid 11 as mentioned forms a passage at its edge, the water rises simultaneously in both sections 36 and 39. Through the opening 16 can escape the air between the water 24 and 26. In section 36, the water forms a water level 30 and in section 39 a water level 29. Levels 27, 29 and 30 are each at the same height. Is that Level 30 at the level of the overflow edge 6, that's how it is Level 29 below the connecting channel 40 and level 27 below the edge 4. Is the water supply to the bathtub 2 comparatively low, the level 27 remains at the level of Overflow edge 6 and inflowing water is continuously over the Overflow edge 6 discharged. The overflowing water 32 arrives 8 in the siphon elbow 12 and finally in the disposal line.

The water inlet 31 is opened further and per time unit more water is introduced, so that the usual drainage rate of the Overflow pipe 5 is smaller than the feed, the level rises 27 over the height of the overflow edge 6 and finally over the height of the connecting channel 40, as indicated in Figure 9 is. Accordingly, the level 29 in communicating rises Pipe 8. As the level 30 rises, the bend becomes 38 completely filled with water. The cross section of the overflow pipe 5 is now dimensioned such that a in the overflow pipe 5 forms a closed water flow. A closed flow 34 is formed when the volume flow in the return duct 19 is so large that after the overflow edge 6 it is the whole Cross section of the return channel 19 closes and no air can flow. For this purpose, the cross section of the Channel 19 is smaller than that of channel 18. Has one such closed water flow 34 is formed, the water speed in channel 19 significantly increased and accordingly the discharge performance improved. After the formation of the closed water flow 34 is thus from the bathtub 2nd sucked out more water than before. Via the connecting channel 40 is also water from the closed flow 34 communicating pipe 8 discharged. Level 29 and that too Level 27 thus sink comparatively quickly. The performance of the closed water flow 34 is sized to be higher is the maximum allowable inflow amount. This maximum allowable The inflow amount for sanitary appliances is usually 0.5 to 0.6 l / sec. Corresponding ones exist in most countries Regulations. The overflow pipe 5 is thus dimensioned that after the formation of the closed water flow 34 per Second more than, for example, 0.5 to 0.6 l / sec. dissipated becomes. Even with the maximum inflow, the level 29 thus decreases which has formed a closed water flow 34. Sinks now the level 29 below the height of the connecting channel 40, see above air flows through the opening 16 through the connecting duct 40 in the sheet 38, as indicated by the arrow 33 in FIG. 10 is. As a result, the closed water flow 34 is interrupted and level 27 drops to the level of the overflow edge 6. If the inflow remains high, the level rises 27 again and the process described above with the formation the closed water flow 34 is repeated. Becomes the water supply turned off or throttled significantly, so level 27 remains stable at the level of FIG Overflow edge 6.

In order to empty the bathtub 2, the drain valve 21 is opened. The water runs over the siphon bend 12 and enters the above-mentioned disposal line. Eventually, again the state shown in Figure 6 is reached.

In the event of an overfill over the overflow edge 6, one becomes closed water flow 34 formed, which is a comparatively has high performance and prevents even with maximum inflow, that the bathtub 2 overflows. An overflow of the bathtub 2 could of course also with an overflow pipe 5 can be realized, which is dimensioned accordingly wide Management. Such an overflow pipe would be appropriate take up a lot of space. The overflow pipe 5 of the Overflow and waste set according to the invention can, however, with an overflow pipe 5 can be realized, the channels 18 and 19 with has a much smaller inner diameter. Also at maximum permissible inflow can overflow the bathtub 2 or other sanitary equipment can be avoided.
