Description

The invention relates to an overflow and drain fitting for sanitary apparatus, according to the preamble of claim 1.

A set of this type is known in the art from the EP 0 446 177 A become known to the applicant. This has a so-called hidden overflow. The overflow is thus not visible and accordingly no opening for the overflow is required in the sanitary body. In addition, this set has a check valve that prevents the return of dirty water in the sanitary body. The check valve forms a unit with the closure body of the outlet valve. In addition, the check valve has a float, which is mounted vertically displaceable in the closure body of the outlet valve and which is removable for cleaning with this closure body as a unit. For cleaning, the drain cover is first removed and then the closing body of the outlet valve is removed with the floating body of the check valve.

The US-A-4,296,778 discloses a floor drain with a lid having on its underside a check valve which has a closure body formed as a float. In the closed position, the closure body closes through holes in the lid. A drain valve is not provided here and would not be appropriate.

The invention has for its object to provide a set of the type mentioned, which allows an even easier cleaning and yet is reliable.

The object is achieved in a generic set according to claim 1. In the inventive set, the check valve is formed by the drain cover and the closure body mounted on this. When lifting the drain cover so that simultaneously the closure body of the check valve is lifted. Thus, an existing under the drain cover collecting tray for cleaning is immediately free. With a single simple movement so that the sump can be exposed. After cleaning, the unit is re-inserted into the drain hole. The set is ready for use again.

The closure body of the check valve is designed as an annular body. In addition, the closure body is preferably designed as a float. This allows a particularly reliable check valve. The annular closure body is also displaceably mounted in the collecting trough.

According to a development of the invention, the check valve has a conical valve seat. This is formed according to a development of the invention by a sealing element which is arranged on the underside of the drain cover. The valve seat can be manufactured with a comparatively large diameter and allows a comparatively large discharge opening.

According to a development of the invention, the check valve has a guide ring in which a closure body of the check valve is coaxially mounted. The guide ring simultaneously forms a sealing element against a flange.

Further advantageous features emerge from the dependent claims, the following description and the drawings.

FIG. 2
a cut accordingly FIG. 1 , but with closed check valve and closed outlet valve.

The overflow and drain fitting 1 has a housing 2, which is arranged on the underside of a drain opening 8 of a sanitary body 7 merely indicated here. The sanitary body 7 is in this case a bathtub, but may also be for example a vanity, a sink, a bidet or the like. The overflow of the sanitary body 7 is formed by a hidden overflow U shown here only partially, which is connected to the housing 2 and which extends concealed under or behind the sanitary body 7. Hidden overflows are known per se and it is this to the already mentioned above EP 0 446 177 A referenced by the applicant. This overflow U has a tube 9, which forms a riser and finally leads in a return pipe, not shown here via an opening 13 into a chamber 24 of the housing 2. The housing 2 has an open-topped recess 36, which has a thread 37, and in which a flange 12 is screwed from above, which defines the housing 2 at the edge of the opening 8. The recess 36 and the flange 12 form a sump S. In this sump S opens the tube 9. In addition, an outlet valve A is arranged in the sump S.

The housing 2 has over the opening 13 a passage 14 into which a mouth 35 of a nozzle 10 is engaged from above. The nozzle 10 forms an outlet channel 11 and has a plurality of locking lips 35 which are engaged in the passage. In addition, on the outside of the mouth 35, a sealing ring 15 is arranged, which seals the nozzle 10 relative to the housing 2. The nozzle 10 is connected to a nut 25 with a discharge line 26. Water from the sanitary appliance 7 or the overflow U reaches in the direction of the arrow 32 in the nozzle 10 and in the direction of the arrow 33 in the outlet line 26th

The outlet valve A is formed by a closure plug 3 and a valve seat 4 of a tube 5 inserted into the housing 2 from above. The tube 5 projects with a lower end into the chamber 24 so that water in this chamber 24 forms an odor trap. The plug 3 can with an operating lever 6 in the in FIG. 1 be raised position shown. This actuating lever 6 is pivotally mounted in the chamber 24 and is operated in a conventional manner by a linkage, not shown here by hand. In the FIG. 1 is the outlet valve A open. The plug 3 is raised as shown by the operating lever 6. In the FIG. 2 the outlet valve A is closed. In this case, a sealing ring 38 rests on the valve seat 4. When closing the outlet valve A of the closure body 3 falls by its own weight in the in FIG. 2 shown closed position.

In the sump S from above, a unit 18 is used, which has a drain cover 17 and a bottom side attached to this check valve R. The lid 17 engages over an edge 17 a, the flange 12 and has on a bottom 19 a support 28, on which the lid 17 is supported on the flange 12. The unit 18 is thus supported on the flange 12, but can be lifted together with the check valve R from the flange 12 and the sump S respectively.

The check valve R has a closure body 22 which is annular and has a downwardly open and also annular air chamber 22a. The closure body 22 is designed as a float and mounted with a plurality of upwardly directed gripping arms 27 on a plate-shaped sealing member 20 vertically displaced limited. These gripping arms 27 are hook-shaped at the upper end and each engage in a slot 39 of the sealing element 20 a.

In der oberen Position gemäss Figur 2 liegt der Verschlusskörper 22 an seinem Umfang dicht am Führungsring 23 an.In the flange 12, a guide ring 23 is inserted, which is laterally supported on the flange 12 and disposed in the upper region of the flange 12. The slightly smaller in its outer diameter closure body 22 is arranged coaxially with this ring 23 and is located in the in FIG. 1 shown position at a distance from this ring 23. In this position, the check valve R is open. Between a conical valve seat 21 of the sealing element 20 and the closure body 22 is an annular passage 40, through which water in the direction of arrow 30 from the sanitary body 7 can get into the sump S. This passage 40 is in the FIG. 2 closed. The closure body 22 is due to its buoyancy in water 41 at the conical valve seat 21 of the sealing element 20 here. The closure body 22 is pressed by the buoyancy on the valve seat 21. The check valve R is closed. If the buoyancy disappears, then the closure body 22 falls back into the in FIG. 1 shown position. In the upper position according to FIG. 2 is the closure body 22 at its periphery close to the guide ring 23 at.

The sealing element 20 preferably consists of a rubber-elastic material and, as already mentioned, is dish-shaped. A central molded and upwardly directed pin 42 is inserted into a recess 43 of the lid 17. The sealing element 20 is also supported on the carrier 28. The guide ring 23 and the closure body 22 are separately manufactured items that can be replaced. This also applies to the sealing element 20. If the unit 20 lifted out of the sump S, so the guide ring 23 is also taken, since this has on the inside a conical surface 44, against which the closure body 22 when lifting the unit 18 is applied. If the unit 18 is inserted into the sump S, the guide ring 23 by the carrier 28 in the in the FIGS. 1 and 2 shown position. The closure body 22 falls by its own weight in the in FIG. 1 shown position in which it is held by the gripping arms 27.

Below, we will explain the operation of the inventive overflow and drain fitting 1 in more detail.

The FIG. 1 shows the clothing 1 in the normal position. The check valve R and the outlet valve A are open. Water in the sanitary body 7 passes in the direction of arrow 30 through the opening 40 in the sump S and through the open outlet valve A into the chamber 24. The chamber 24 is usually filled with not shown here water into which a guide wall 34 is immersed. The water passes in the directions of arrows 31 and 32 through the mouth 35 of the nozzle 10 upwards in the outlet channel 11 and in Direction of the arrow 33 substantially horizontally in the discharge line 26 which is connected to the nut 25 close to the nozzle 10.
If the outlet valve A is closed and the check valve R is open, then the sanitary body 7 can be filled with water. Part of the water passes through the pipe 9 in the overflow U. In this increases accordingly the level. If an overflow edge U of the overflow U, not shown here, is reached, then water flows through the return pipe, not shown here, to the opening 13 and thus into the chamber 24. From this, the water passes in the directions of the arrows 32 and 33 into the discharge line 26. This is ensures that the water in the sanitary body 7 can not exceed a predetermined level. This level corresponds to the overflow edge of the overflow U.

If a backflow forms in the chamber 24, for example due to an overpressure in the discharge line 26, the water level in the chamber 24 rises. The closure body 23 is thereby lifted and from below water enters the sump S, as in FIG. 2 is indicated. In the sump S located water 41 gives the closure body 22 a buoyancy and finally reaches this closure body 22 in the in FIG. 2 shown position. In this position, the closure body 22 is sealed both with respect to the guide ring 23 and with respect to the valve seat 21. The guide ring 23 thus forms a sealant and a stop for the closure body 22. The water 41, which is usually dirty water, therefore can not escape into the sanitary body 7 even at an overpressure in the chamber 24. Can the water from the sump S expire again, the closure body 22 falls back into the in FIG. 1 shown position in which the check valve R is open again. At each backwater or overpressure in the discharge line 26, the check valve R is immediately closed again as explained.

If cleaning is required, the unit 18 is lifted on the cover 17 from the sump S. The closure body 3 can in the in FIG. 1 raised position and also lifted from above. Thus, the tube 5 is accessible for cleaning. After cleaning, the sealing plug 3 is inserted again from above into the tube 5. Subsequently, the unit 18 is inserted from above into the flange 12. The clothing 1 is thus ready for use again.

In the overflow and drain fitting 1, the nozzle 10 is arranged for the outlet at the top of the housing 2. This is useful in a bathtub. In a sink or other sanitary body, however, the spout may also be arranged at the bottom of the bottom of the housing 2 or laterally thereto. Also, the tube 9 and the opening 13 of the overflow U may be disposed at other positions of the housing 2.
