Definitions
- the invention relates to a drain valve for a cistern, in particular toilet cistern, in which a float is arranged in a housing to be fastened to the bottom of the cistern below a partition wall which extends horizontally therein, which is attached to a closing element which is displaceably mounted in the housing and which is attached to a lower end has a sealing body and which protrudes with an upper end through an opening of the housing.
- a drain valve of this type is known for example from CH-A-386 351.
- the housing referred to here as the bell, is inserted into an opening in the bottom of the cistern and screwed tight to it.
- the float is accommodated in a circular cylindrical space open at the bottom, which is firmly connected to the overflow pipe.
- the overflow pipe forms a closure element with a valve disk attached to the lower end.
- the closure body or the overflow pipe with the float attached to it is raised until the float is in contact with the partition mentioned on the underside. The valve plate of the closure member is thus lifted off the valve seat and the valve is thus opened.
- the drain valve closes as soon as air gets under the partition through a gap between the overflow pipe and the bell.
- the installation of this drain valve is not very easy, since the valve tube with the valve plate has to be inserted into the bell from below. This is particularly difficult when means for regulating the rate of descent are to be built into the drain valve.
- the invention has for its object to provide a drain valve of the type mentioned, which is easier to assemble and disassemble.
- the object is achieved in a generic drain valve in that the partition forms a unit with a chamber arranged at the bottom of the unit, which is removably inserted from above into the open housing.
- the housing or the bell can be on without the unit mentioned Box bottom to be attached.
- the unit with the locking device can then be inserted into the housing from above with an automated assembly device.
- the unit with the locking element can be removed from the housing from above, the housing remaining on the box bottom.
- the partition in the drain valve according to the invention is no longer firmly attached to the housing, its height can be easily adapted to the valve seat by using different housings.
- the same unit can therefore be used for different cisterns.
- a correspondingly high housing can be used in a concealed cistern with a comparatively high partition.
- the unit of the drain valve according to the invention can thus be used very universally.
- a drain valve 30 which has a tubular housing 1, on which a threaded connector 26 is formed, which is inserted into an opening 48 of a cistern floor 25 and is tightly clamped to the latter by a nut 27.
- a unit 10 is inserted into an upper circular opening 43 (FIG. 4) of the housing 1, on which a horizontal partition 2 with a central opening 33 is formed.
- a closing element 4 designed as an overflow pipe is inserted from below, which has a valve plate 6 at its lower end 5, which forms a sealing body and cooperates with the valve seat 44.
- a tab 34 is formed, in which a lever 35 of an actuating device, not shown here, engages.
- the closing member 4 can be raised, thereby opening the valve. Flushing water 45 present in the cistern can flow through a side window 28 of the housing 1 and an opening 46 of the nozzle 26 into a toilet bowl (not shown) when the valve is open.
- the housing 1 and the unit 10 are detachably connected to one another with a separately produced circular cover 12.
- a locking ring 36 is formed on the underside of the cover 12, on which two opposite locking teeth 37 of the unit 10 are engaged from below.
- these locking teeth 37 are formed on an upper edge 47 of a cup-shaped wall 11.
- Recesses 38 on the side, next to and below the teeth 37 allow radial deflection when these teeth snap into place.
- the unit 10 is rotatably mounted on the ring 36, wherein the teeth 37 can slide along the locking ring 36 in the circumferential direction.
- the cover 12 also has two opposite tabs 24 which, according to FIG. 8, extend vertically upwards and downwards at the edge of the cover.
- the tabs 24 are each formed on the side of an opening 49 of the cover 12.
- the upper area 47 of the tabs 24 each forms a handle on which the tabs 24 in the direction of the arrows 50 are elastically pivotable.
- the locking teeth 51 formed on a lower region 23 of the tabs 24 are pivoted outwards in the direction of the arrows 52.
- the engagement of the teeth 51 on a further circumferential locking ring 53 of the housing 1 can thus be released and the unit 10 can be lifted out of the housing 1 or rotated as desired.
- the tabs 24 automatically engage on the locking ring 53 with elastic deflection.
- the assembly of the housing 1 with the unit 10 and the lid 12 can be done very simply automatically by plugging together. Disassembly is possible very quickly and repeatedly without tools.
- the tubular closing member 4 is guided in the opening 8 of the cover 12 by means of projecting guide ribs 40 so as to be longitudinally displaceable. Lateral slots 39 allow air to pass from the interior of the cistern into an annular space 59 of the unit 10 as soon as the level 54 of the flushing water 45 has dropped below these slots 39 during a flushing process.
- the air that has entered the chamber 59 can pass below the partition 2, according to FIG. 11 above and below the partition 2 in each case in the wall 11 and in a tubular wall 55 adjoining below, at least one opening 20 or 21 arranged.
- the air can pass from the opening 20 through the opening 21 under the partition 2 get into a chamber 9 when the unit 10 is rotated into a position in which the openings 20 and 21 are arranged in the region of an elongated, vertically extending recess 15 on the inside of the housing 1.
- the depression is shown in FIG. 5.
- the path of the air into the chamber 9 is indicated by the arrow 56 in FIG.
- the passage through the openings 20 and 21 and the depression 15 are dimensioned such that the water in the annular space 53 flows out comparatively slowly and the valve only closes when air enters the chamber 9 and the cistern is essentially completely emptied.
- the depression 15 extends in the vertical direction of the housing 1 and is approximately the same depth and width everywhere. The openings 20 and 21 or the partition 2 can thus be arranged at any height of the recess 15 without thereby influencing the sinking speed of the closing element 4.
- the unit 10 is rotated according to FIG. 10 into a rotational position in which a longitudinal slot 22 of the unit 10 is in register with an opening 13 in the housing 1.
- air can pass unhindered and directly into the chamber 9 from the outside 57 of the housing 1 through the opening 13 and the slot 22 in the direction of the arrow 58.
- the passage is much wider than when passing in the direction of arrow 56, so that the chamber 9 very quickly is filled with air as soon as the surface of the rinsing water 45 has reached the opening 13 according to FIG. 10.
- the closing element 4 then closes the drain valve before the cistern is completely emptied.
- complete rinsing for example, a total amount of rinsing water of 9 liters and in the other case only a partial amount of 6 liters is used for rinsing.
- the passage of air in the direction of arrow 58 is also ensured if the slot 22 is arranged higher.
- the unit 10 can be rotated with respect to the housing 1 into the desired rotational position by lifting the closing member 4 at its upper end 7 until a projection 31 arranged on an upper wall 29 (FIG. 1) of the float 3 has a projection 32 on the underside the partition 2 receives and then the closing member 4 is rotated about its longitudinal axis.
- the unit 10 is thus taken along and rotated in the same sense.
- the closing member 4 is accordingly raised and rotated at its upper end 7.
- the adjustment is therefore very simple and, particularly in the case of narrow and tall cisterns, for example in concealed cisterns, is very user-friendly since there is no need to reach deep into the cistern.
- the aforementioned two rotational positions are determined by stop cams 17 on the lower edge of the unit 10 and by support cams 16 on the inside 14 of the housing 1.
- a circumferential recess 19 is machined between two stop cams 17 in the outer side 18 of the unit 10, into which a projection 42 (FIGS. 6 and 7) engages, which is arranged according to FIG. 7 above a support cam 16.
- the unit 10 can thus be locked in either of the two rotational positions.
- the support cams 16 and the impact cams 17 can each be single or multiple. This also applies to the locking device formed by the projections 42 and depressions 41.
- the stop cams 17 are wedge-shaped according to FIGS.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a drain valve for a cistern, in particular toilet cistern, in which a float is arranged in a housing to be fastened to the bottom of the cistern below a partition wall which extends horizontally therein, which is attached to a closing element which is displaceably mounted in the housing and which is attached to a lower end has a sealing body and which protrudes with an upper end through an opening of the housing.
A drain valve of this type is known for example from CH-A-386 351. The housing, referred to here as the bell, is inserted into an opening in the bottom of the cistern and screwed tight to it. Below a partition or top wall of the bell, the float is accommodated in a circular cylindrical space open at the bottom, which is firmly connected to the overflow pipe. The overflow pipe forms a closure element with a valve disk attached to the lower end. To initiate a flush, the closure body or the overflow pipe with the float attached to it is raised until the float is in contact with the partition mentioned on the underside. The valve plate of the closure member is thus lifted off the valve seat and the valve is thus opened. Flushing water in the cistern flows through side windows in the bell, for example, into a connected toilet bowl. The drain valve closes as soon as air gets under the partition through a gap between the overflow pipe and the bell. The installation of this drain valve is not very easy, since the valve tube with the valve plate has to be inserted into the bell from below. This is particularly difficult when means for regulating the rate of descent are to be built into the drain valve.
The invention has for its object to provide a drain valve of the type mentioned, which is easier to assemble and disassemble. The object is achieved in a generic drain valve in that the partition forms a unit with a chamber arranged at the bottom of the unit, which is removably inserted from above into the open housing. In the drain valve according to the invention, the housing or the bell can be on without the unit mentioned Box bottom to be attached. The unit with the locking device can then be inserted into the housing from above with an automated assembly device. In the event of a revision, the unit with the locking element can be removed from the housing from above, the housing remaining on the box bottom. Since the partition in the drain valve according to the invention is no longer firmly attached to the housing, its height can be easily adapted to the valve seat by using different housings. The same unit can therefore be used for different cisterns. For example, a correspondingly high housing can be used in a concealed cistern with a comparatively high partition. The unit of the drain valve according to the invention can thus be used very universally.

The
The
The
In order to interrupt the purging, the air that has entered the
If the
The
The aforementioned two rotational positions are determined by
