  • the front major surface of this disc is provided with a non-translucent layer in which motifs such as e.g. Graphics, icons, images or the like. Can be executed.
  • motifs such as e.g. Graphics, icons, images or the like.
  • the front of the subjects is covered with a protective layer of, for example, a clear and hard resin.
  • An electroluminescent device or an EL lamp is assigned to the side facing away from the subject of the disc.
  • This EL lamp is provided with lugs, of which one flag is connected to one of the electrodes of the EL lamp and the other lug is connected to the other electrode of the EL lamp. About these flags or tabs, the EL lamp is supplied with electrical energy.

  • the EL lamp has to be pulled from the front surface of the display to the area of the side walls of the display which delimit this window or recess.
  • the minimum achievable radius of a curved portion of the prior art display is in the range of about 6mm. This is for example in panel devices in an automobile too large a radius.
  • the attachment of said tabs or flags on the electrodes of the EL lamp This is because these electrodes are formed by very thin layers, while the tabs or flag are relatively thick strips of material in comparison with the electrode layers.
