  • Switching devices of this type satisfy the stresses occurring during switching on and off of electrical equipment in the undisturbed and disturbed operating state. Possibly. met such a switching device in a further embodiment as a protective switching device also overload and short circuit conditions.
  • a switching device of the first kind is from the EP 0 511 043 A1 known, which is designed here such that it has an additional contact block.
  • the contacts of the contact block are coupled to the switching mechanism of the switching device.
  • This is an auxiliary switch additional block for insertion into a housing opening of an electrical switching device with main contacts, the contacts of the Auxiliary switch additional block to be switched with the main contacts of the switching device.
  • pre-assembled connectors are used for fast and possibly polarity-proof connection to devices or terminal strips.
  • the avoidable by the invention redesign of the existing, uniform switch module, which meets basic requirements, is due to the fact that a manufacturing and assembly technology simple addition of the switch module, according to a high electrical insulation strength to be ensured, can be made.
  • the invention is particularly suitable for use in a protective switching device.
  • the adapter can be mounted on the existing connection means of the switching device, so that in a very simple manner, a standardized switching device, e.g. according to IEC 60947, to a so-called "Self-Protected Combination Controller Type E" in accordance with UL 508, can be retrofitted as needed.
  • the switch assembly on the input side and the output side at least one adapter, so that the switch module can be easily adapted to the requirements of UL 489 and thus meets the requirements of a compliant circuit breaker.
  • At least two angled separating elements per contact means are provided, so that large separation distances are given with a low use of material.
  • At least one frame-like separating element per contact means is provided, whereby a large air gap and creepage distance is formed in a simple manner.
  • a receiving space for connecting at least one of the conductors is associated with the second contact means, so that in a simple way a secure and fast contact is given.
  • the receiving space is divided and connected in each part at least one of the conductors, whereby the geometric design of the adapter is favored.

  • the switching device 1 may be designed in particular as a protective switching device.
  • the first contact means 7, 8 are so-called combination screws, each having a connection terminal with a roof panel. Perpendicular to the entrances 5, 6 and thus on the inlet side, there is a first and a second connection space 9, for the purpose of being connected here, shown here.
  • insulating housing parts 11 are arranged, which can be designed web-like and / or flush with the surface.
  • an adapter 12 can be arranged, which has at least a second, here schematically illustrated, contact means 13. Die Adapter 13 ist mit Mel Gepatiuse 12sky.
  • the second contact means 13 is provided at least with a connection element 14 and is in an electrically conductive connection with this.
  • the connection elements 14 can be electrically and mechanically connected to the first or the second corresponding contact means 7 or 8 of the switch assembly 2.
  • the switching device 1 is therefore composed of the switch assembly 2 and the adapter 12 connected thereto.
  • the adapter 12 is advantageously form-fitting, in particular by means of molding 15 and recess 16, can be arranged on the switch assembly 2, so that a switching device unit is sentbar. This can be done by simply mounting the adapter 12 on the switch assembly 2, without dismantling components of the switching device 1. In this case, the adapter 12 acts in the sense of a Verpolungskares and thus contributes to the reduction of possible connection errors.
  • the accesses 5, 6 of the two terminal units 3 and 4 can also be covered on the front side by an aperture 17, so that an advantageous housing termination of the switching device 1 is given. An access panel closing the entrances 5, 6 is likewise possible in a further embodiment as a housing closure.
  • the adapter 12 also has dividing elements 18 which border the second contact means 13 on the front side and on the introduction side at least on several sides.
  • the separating elements 18 serve to improve the insulation properties, in particular with regard to definable clearances and creepage distances between two adjacent contact means 13 or between the second contact means 13 and an electrically conductive part in or on the switching device 1.
  • the dividing elements 18 can in various embodiments according to FIG. 2 be designed as a wall-like, angled or frame-like separating elements 18a, 18b, and 18c as well as Abschothyroidn or ribs.
  • FIG. 2 is the adapter 12, according to FIG. 1 , shown in a spatial representation in a Forderansicht, wherein at least each two wall-like separating elements 18a arranged laterally per second contact means 13 to improve the insulating properties of the adapter with minimal effort and / or the contact means 13 each at one of the front adjacent Introductory-side surface 19 have angled dividing elements 18b.
