Abstract

An apparatus and method for inputting and depositing bank notes, whereby checked bank notes are temporarily stored in a stacking device singly or in bundles. To permit secure transport of bank notes from a stacking position to an end cashbox, temporarily stored bank notes are stacked on a deposit surface that is then itself moved to a position associated with the end cashbox, so that bank notes can be deposited in the end cashbox in said position.

Description

The invention relates to a device and a method for the input and storage of banknotes, wherein checked banknotes are stored individually or as a bundle in a stacking device temporarily.

Such a device and such a method are known for example from EP 0 613 107 B1. After that, checked bank notes are stacked by means of a spiral tray stacker on a cover plate of a first cassette and temporarily stored. Subsequently, usually at least a part of the bank notes acting in this intermediate cash position is transported to the final deposit to a second cassette laterally offset from the first cassette. For this purpose, the banknotes temporarily stacked on the lid above the first cassette are laterally displaced towards the second cassette by means of a frame from the lid of the first cassette serving as a stacking surface, into which they then fall freely.

However, this known system has the following disadvantage. Since the banknotes are laterally displaced from the stacking position above the first cassette through the frame, the thrust force emanating therefrom can lead to deformation and, in particular, in the stacking of banknotes of different dimensions, for tilting of the banknote stack during pushing. Since the notes then fall freely into the second cassette anyway, this is not problematic in the known device per se.

It would be disadvantageous, however, if the original stacking order should be retained when filing in the terminal. This is not possible with the known device.

Die US-A-4,825,378 offenbart eine Vorrichtung gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.US-A-4,825,378 discloses an apparatus according to the preamble of claim 1.

Proceeding from this, it is the object of the present invention to provide a device for inputting and depositing banknotes which, in a simple structure, permits a transport of a banknote stack to an end-of-line counter, e.g. a final cassette allowed, in which the original stacking order can be maintained with high security. In addition, another object is to provide an associated banknote input and storage method.

These objects are achieved by the apparatus of claim 1 and the method of claim 12. Advantageous embodiments are defined in the further claims.

The present invention has thus been accomplished on the basis of the finding that a simply constructed device with banknote input and / or filing function can be realized when part of the transport device itself is part of the stacking device when the banknotes are transported from the stacking device to the end-of-line is.

Characterized in that in particular the storage surface of the stacking device itself, on which the banknotes are stacked and temporarily stored, is moved to the end cash, a secured banknote transport is possible because thus for the transport of banknotes no force must be exercised on this, but the transport alone can be accomplished by moving the tray onto which they were previously stacked.

Therefore, the solution according to the invention can avoid a change in the original stacking sequence, wherein the device, due to the omission of an additional transport element to the stacking device, such as the frame according to EP 0 613 107 B1, at the same time can be constructed simpler.

In particular, in cases where the storage surface on which the banknotes to be transported to the end cash station are not exclusively moved horizontally, or is not exclusively in a horizontal position, the banknotes are preferably by a clamping element on the stack carrier unit of the stacking device clamped in order to additionally secure the banknotes during transport against slipping or the like. Here, the clamping element is particularly preferably connected to the stack carrier unit itself, so that it can come during transport to no relative movement between the clamping element and stack carrier unit or storage area.

In a further preferred embodiment, the shelf, after having transported the bills to the position associated with the end-of-store, is pushed away below the bills, so that the bills, e.g. can be stored or stamped on an immediately underneath spring-loaded stack bottom in the final cassette or on this floor previously stacked banknotes.

In order to prevent the banknote stack from slipping when the tray is withdrawn in this position assigned to the end-of-line counter, either the clamping element can provide further fixing, or alternatively the banknotes are fixed in their position by an additional retaining element when the tray is withdrawn.

This restraint element can, for example, be fixedly mounted in the region of the end cassette and positionally immutable so that the stack, when it is withdrawn, retains its position Storage surface on the retaining element in its given position, for example, is retained just above the cassette opening. Alternatively, this retaining element may for example also be a component of the stack carrier unit itself, which is fixed in the end cassette assigned position, for example by a mechanical lock in its retaining position, while the support surface of the stack carrier unit is displaced relative thereto, whereby these two components of the stack carrier unit in these Endkassetten Position are decoupled.

In order to enable a particularly secure insertion of the banknotes into an end cassette while maintaining the original stacking order, a stamping element for stamping the banknotes which are in the second position into the cassette will advantageously be present.

A first exemplary embodiment of a device according to the invention is shown in FIGS. 1-4. As can be seen in particular in Figures 1 and 2, which represent the device in two different operating conditions, the device 1 u.a. following features.

The device 1 is used for depositing cash, in particular also for entering and depositing banknotes. For this purpose, the device 1 comprises an input tray 2 for banknotes, which consists of feed wheels 3, a singler roller 4 and a Rückhälterad 5, which are used for separating the banknotes entered into the compartment 2. The isolated notes are by means of the roller transport path 6 through a test unit 7 with several Sensor modules 7 passed and transported to a storage area 9. The sensor modules 7 are used for checking physical properties of the banknotes transported through, in particular for checking the authenticity and the denomination of the banknotes. The storage area 9 consists of three stacking devices 10a-c with Spiralfachstaplerrad 11, in which the individual notes are fed via associated diverters depending on the results of the review.

Although other uses are conceivable, the case of the top one of the three stackers 10a for issuing reject banknotes not recognized in the check unit 7, the middle stacker 10b for storing counterfeit banknotes, and the like Bottom stacking device 10c is used to store all other banknotes, ie for banknotes whose authenticity could be confirmed and their denomination determined.

The lowermost stacker 10c acts as an intermediate cash register in which real banknotes are temporarily stored in a final cash register 16 or reissued to the operator prior to final filing. The device shown here is also characterized in particular by the fact that the transport device between the cashier and the end cashier itself is part of the stacking device 10c.

The stacking device 10c includes this in addition to the spiral tray stacker 11 with stripping 12 a stack carrier unit 13. The stack carrier unit 13, the construction of a first embodiment can be seen especially in Figure 3, inter alia, has a cross-sectionally L-shaped tray 14 with rear wall 15th on.

Furthermore, the stack carrier unit 13 is designed to be movable, so that the bank notes 17 stacked in the stacking device 10c on the storage surface 14 from the first position assigned to the stacking device 10c, which is shown in FIG. 1, into the second position assigned to the end cash register 16 can be transported, which is shown in the figure 2. For example, a banknote stacking cassette 16, into which the banknotes can be stamped by means of a punch 30, serves as an end cashbox.

The transport or guide mechanism for the guided process of the stack carrier unit 13 from the stacking area to the end cash area can be seen in particular from FIGS. 3 and 4. According to FIG. 3, in the region of the rear wall 15 of the approximately L-shaped stack carrier unit 13, a transport carriage 18 is attached laterally. The drive of the transport carriage 18 takes place in the illustrated embodiment as a toothed belt drive, because this allows a simple deflection of the stack carrier unit 13 from the oblique Abstapel- and intermediate cash position of Figure 1 in the horizontal Endkassenposition of Figure 2. The movement of the transport carriage 18 is thus composed of a curve piece and a straight line.

To move the carrier unit 13 using this transport carriage 18, ie for transferring the banknotes 17 to be stacked from cash box area 13 to the end cash 16, the guide device further comprises the gate assembly 20 shown in Figure 4, the guided over pulleys 21 timing belt 22 in the form an endless belt, wherein the drive of the toothed belt 22 is controlled by a drive shaft 23 with associated motor control. The drive shaft 23 and the guide rollers 21 are rotatably fixed in two parallel and spaced apart guide rails 24, wherein in the figure 4, the rear of these two guide rails is shown. Bushings 19, of which three are present on the front and back of the transport carriage 18 (in the figure 3, only the front three are visible), each engage in the scenes, ie recesses 25 of the front and rear guide rail 24 a.

Thus, the rolling resistance in the gate 25 remains low, bearing guide bushings 19 are used with flanges, at the same time the lateral guidance of the stack carrier unit 13 is taken over by these sockets 19. The attacking moment on the transport carriage 18 during transport is absorbed by the two guide rails 24. The positioning of the stack carrier unit 18 in the stacking position of Figure 1 is also taken over in the end position by holding bolts, not shown.

The clamping element 26 consists in particular of two rigidly connected clamping fingers 26, which extend from a plane parallel to the rear wall 15 by a variable angle can be rotated in order to clamp the banknotes stacked on the shelf 14 secured against slipping.

In FIG. 3, the banknote bundle 17 stacked on the depositing surface 14 is shown transparently for better clarity. Therefore, the four mutually parallel linear passage openings 27 in the storage area 14 and the rear wall 15 can still be seen.

As will be explained in detail below, these through holes 27 serve to engage four complementarily arranged retaining plates 28, which are rigidly arranged in the end cash box 16 and serve to retain the bank notes above the end cassette 16.

The device according to FIGS. 1 to 4 can be used for carrying out a first exemplary embodiment of the method according to the invention as follows, for example.

At the beginning of a transaction carried out by an operator, the stack carrier unit 13 is in the position shown in FIG. 1, in which the rear wall 15 is aligned with the stripping element 12. The clamping element 26 is arranged parallel to the rear wall 15 in order to allow a stacking of banknotes on the support surface 14.

The operator now enters the banknotes to be paid into the device in the input tray 2, these are occasionally fed to the test device 7 and determines there the authenticity and denomination of the banknotes. The unrecognized reject bills are then dispensed into the output tray 10a and false bills are placed in the other bin 10b.

All others, ie the banknotes determined by the checking device 7 as genuine and after their denomination, are stored stacked on the tray 14 by means of the spiral tray stacker 11. Since the stack carrier unit 13 is not arranged horizontally, but inclined by, for example, 60 ° to the horizontal, the banknotes are already stacked flush with the rear wall 15 during storage. The serving as an intermediate cash stack carrier unit 13 temporarily stored banknotes are processed in one of the following two ways.

If the operator does not agree with the final filing of the banknotes 17 in the end-of-the-counter 16 and wants to cancel the deposit process, the banknotes 17 are removed from the teller 13 by a lid flap automatically unlocked and opened by the control unit 8 which is not shown in the drawings is.

On the other hand, if the operator agrees with the filing of the notes stacked in the escrow 13 into the end cash register 16, the lid flap will remain locked and the stack carrier unit 13 will be locked in place by the guide means 20 from the position shown in Figure 1 to the stacker 10c 16 assigned position of the banknotes 17 proceed.

Here, first, the clamping member 26 is rotated in a clamping contact with the stacked on the shelf 14 notes 17 and then moved via the slide guide 25 by means of the transport carriage 18, the stack carrier unit 13 in a position above the cassette 16, wherein the cassette lid 29, as shown in 2 is shown already pulled away laterally.

In this position, the punch 30, which was previously located in the top, fully retracted position of Figure 1 during transport of the carrier unit 13, presses from above on the banknotes 17, so that the banknotes are easily pressed onto the support surface 14. Subsequently, the stack carrier unit 13 is moved further to the right, the banknotes by combing engagement of the retaining plates 28 with the through holes 27th stripped, so that the banknotes 17 remain positioned above the end cash register 16, while the stack carrier unit 13 is moved further into the end position shown in Figure 2.

The punch 30 now moves down, as shown in FIG. 2, and presses the bank notes 17 into the cassette 16. The base in the cassette 16, on which the banknotes 17 are now stacked, is thereby moved, for example, guided by an actuator down in the cassette 16. Instead of the actuator, the displacement may e.g. also be done by a coupled to the base spring element.

Subsequently, the punch is pushed back to its original position upwards and the stack carrier unit 13 is transported back from the position shown in FIG. 2 back into the position according to FIG. 1, so that a new deposit operation can begin. In this case, the lid 29 is not usually displaced laterally onto the cassette opening after each deposit operation, but only immediately before a cassette change or in the event of a fault in order to prevent access to the banknotes contained therein.

A second exemplary embodiment is illustrated by way of example in FIGS. 5 and 6, which diagrammatically show a side view and a perspective view obliquely from above of a stack carrier unit 13 'with associated transport system for transporting stacked banknotes from the stacking position to the end-check position.

This stack carrier unit 13 'can be used, for example, in the device according to Figures 1 and 2 instead of the transponder system shown in Figures 3 and 4 with slotted guide, wherein the representation of Device components according to Figures 5 and 6 when used in the device according to Figures 1 and 2, of course, is considered to be reversed.

On the right side of Figures 5 and 6, a likewise approximately L-shaped stack support unit 13 'with storage surface 14' and rear wall 15 'is shown, on which by means of the Spiralfachstaplers 11 bank notes are temporarily stored. Furthermore, two rigidly interconnected clamping fingers 26 'are rotatably mounted on the top of the rear wall 15', which are designed slightly curved, so that the clamping of the stacked on the shelf 14 'banknote bundle is easily possible even at low bundle height.

The device components according to FIGS. 5 and 6 furthermore differ from those according to FIGS. 3 and 4 in particular by the configuration of the guide device for moving the stack carrier unit 13 'from the stacking position shown on the right in the drawings to the left-hand side of the endkasse It should be noted that FIGS. 5 and 6 thus do not illustrate two different stack carrier units 13 'which are present at the same time but only one single stack carrier unit 13' in two different states.

For transferring the stack carrier unit 13 'from the right stacking position into the left position assigned to the end cassette 16, the stack carrier unit 13' or its associated transport carriage 18 'is actively moved back and forth on a linear rail 31 with a frame-actuated pivot attachment 32.

Therefore, the transport carriage 18 'includes a rigidly connected to the rear wall 15' first axis 33 which is rotatably connected to a spaced-apart second axis 34. As can be seen in particular from FIG. 5, a movement guided along the line R1 linearly with the aid of the linear rail 31 in combination with the movement of the second axis 34 that is pivotable along the rotational direction D1 through the link-actuated pivoting attachment 32 can thus be assured, forcibly guided transport Stack carrier unit 13 'between the stacking and the end-cash position can be realized.

Another difference to the stack carrier unit 13 of Figures 1 to 4 is that the stripping of the banknotes in the horizontal position above the end cassette 16 is not realized by engagement of Abstreifblechen 28 in associated longitudinal openings 27 as shown in Figures 2 and 3, but in that the storage area 14 'in this endkasse assigned, shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 on the left side position, is pulled away laterally to the left below the rear wall 15' held there rigidly.

For this purpose, on the back of the rear wall 15 'two recognizable especially in the figure 6 pins 35 are mounted, which are in the end-of-the-counter assigned position in which the stacked on the shelf 14' banknotes directly above the cassette opening, against the associated retaining elements 36 encounter.

In this state, shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the rear wall 15 'and thus the bank notes 17 stacked flush therewith are thus held, while the storage area, 14 'fixedly connected to the axis 33 is pulled away further below the banknote bundle 17, meshing further to the left.

A third embodiment of a device according to the invention is illustrated by the illustrations of Figures 7 and 8. In this embodiment, a chain transport system is used as the guide device 20 "for positively guided transport of the stack carrier unit 13. The use of such a chain transport system has the particular advantage that it can be realized in a space-saving manner because it does not have to protrude far beyond the area of the stack carrier unit 13.

For this purpose, the underside of the support surface 14 of the stack carrier unit 13 is connected at two end regions lying in a direction perpendicular to the transport direction T, each with a bolt 38 whose radially outwardly projecting guide pins 39 engage in a hole 40 of a chain 41. As can be seen from FIG. 8, the chain 41 is mounted in a dimensionally stable bearing housing 42 with a somewhat C-shaped cross section, so that the transport path of the stack carrier unit 13 can be predetermined by the shape of the bearing housing 42, in particular in the transport direction T.

To move the chain 41, this is connected in a region which is outside the transport path from the first to the second position, with a motor which pushes the chain 41 for transporting the stack carrier unit 13 between the first and second position back and forth.

In the above, some embodiments have already been described. Of course, numerous variations are conceivable, a few of which are described below by way of example.

In the third embodiment, the stack carrier unit 13 may be e.g. not only rigidly connected to the bolt 38, but preferably also rotatably mounted around this. This can be used to change the stack carrier unit 13 into an e.g. for the introduction of banknotes in the final cassette exactly matching position defined to twist.

While in the embodiments described above, in each case the height of the storage surface 14,14 'was fixed with respect to the rear wall 15,15', the position, i. the height of the storage surface 14 'preferably changeable. In other words, as indicated by the double arrow H in FIG. 5, the support surface 14, 14 'is actively displaced in height H by a spring, for example, or passively by an associated control element.

This has the advantage that in the stacking area 13, the banknotes 17 are always placed approximately in the same height position on possibly already previously stacked banknotes, so that a secure stacking is guaranteed.

The case has also been described above in that the cassette 16 is installed vertically in the housing of the device 1 and that the banknotes for orientation in the cassette 16 on the storage surface 14, 14 'above the cassette opening are oriented horizontally. When the tray 14, 14 'is removed in this position, the banknote stack may possibly tilt, since in this case only an increasingly smaller partial area of the stack rests directly on the shelf 14, 14'.

To avoid this, the cassette is preferably obliquely, for example, inclined at 10 to 15 ° to the horizontal, be inserted into the housing of the ATM, so that the storage surface 14,14 'directed obliquely downward the banknotes 17 stacked thereon can be pulled away. This leads to a reduction of the effective torque acting on the banknotes when pulling the storage surface 14,14 ', so that the risk of tipping when pulling away is reduced.

It should be emphasized that this principle of obliquely aligning cassettes into which e.g. Banknotes are entered from the top, can also be used advantageously regardless of the previously described inventive systems to prevent tilting when removing a shelf, a cassette cover or the like, when introducing the banknotes into the cassette.

Furthermore, as in the previous examples, the stack carrier unit need not be moved passively from the destacking position to the end-of-line position. Alternatively, it is also possible that the stack carrier unit itself comprises a motor control or the like in order to actively drive the stack carrier unit in a predetermined way. Thus, the stack carrier unit could comprise motor driven rollers that roll on a guide rail.

As shown in Figure 9, the clamping element 26 "for clamping the banknotes 17 stacked on the storage surface 14 can not be pivotally mounted about an axis of rotation 43. It is also conceivable that the clamping element 26" additionally slidable vertically in the direction V in the Rear wall 15 of the stack carrier unit 13 is mounted so that after the stacking of banknotes 17, the clamping fingers 26 "is pressed first about the axis 43 in a plane parallel to the banknotes 17 and then in the direction V on the banknotes 17.

Alternatively, the clamping element can also be moved horizontally into the stacking area and then pressed vertically in the direction V onto the banknotes 17. These variations allow a clamping operation without wrinkling the banknotes.

The device according to the invention and the method according to the invention thus make it possible to transport banknotes secured from a destacking area to the endkasse.
