Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method according to the preamble of claim 1 and an apparatus according to claim 3.
- a purely fluid-mechanical method according to the preamble of the claim is known from U.S. -A- 1,178,912 known.
- diluted substance is absorbed by a siphon from a cup-shaped container, which is fed from a reservoir in the manner of a bird bath.
- the bird bath already begins to feed during the outflow of the rinse water drug and fills the cup-shaped container within a short time interval.
- the necessary dilution undergoes the active ingredient via the connecting line by flowing back during a flushing process in the container water. This dilution is therefore dependent on the amount of water and thus the water pressure in the purge line.
- a stopcock acting as a throttle is provided in the connecting line.
- a disadvantage of this arrangement is the lack of a safety device which prevents an outflow through the device at a positive pressure, for example by a disabled ordinary drainage of the rinse water. If, on the other hand, the system, as drawn in the embodiment, is closed, i. E. if the space above the cup-shaped container is not connected to the atmosphere, then unacceptable pressure fluctuations occur, which impair or even make impossible the dosage of the active substance.
- the dilution of the drug depends on the pressure fluctuations of the rinse water; the amount of water that flows back into the cup-shaped container is basically not constant. Due to the rapid flow of active ingredient is used in short-term repeated use of the toilet, especially in urinals relatively much active ingredient.
- the dosage should be optimal, ie the drug must prevent unwanted deposits, especially those made of lime, and also act as a discreet deodorant.
- An exchange of the reservoir should also be required for a frequently used toilet or a urinal in public facilities only several months apart. For a short-term repeated use of the sanitary facility should not unnecessarily increase the volume of active substance consumed.
- liquid active substance to be used should therefore be freely selectable, this means that it can be wetting, oily or highly viscous, in any case it must experience a reproducible dosage in the device.
- the achievable with the features of claim 1 dosage can be reproducible in the accuracy of a single liquid stopper and can be set or configured empirically in time so that only a minimum of active ingredient is consumed in short-term repeated use of sanitary.
- a device suitable for carrying out the method is characterized by the features of claim 3.
- the embodiment according to claim 4 is the preferred practical embodiment of the teaching according to claim 2.
- a taper of the cross section of the passage according to claim 5 serves to increase the pressure and improves the mixing in the dosing.
- An easily replaceable installation of the dispensing needle according to claim 6 allows their cleaning or replacement in the case of encrustations or crystallization of the active ingredient.
- the dimensioning, claim 7 are indicative of the dispensing needle and allow them to adapt to the viscosity of the drug.
- the design of the lower end of the dispensing needle according to claim 8 is also favorable for wetting liquids and ensures a reproducible dosage.
- the two-part construction of the siphon according to claim 9 allows easy and complete cleaning of the mixing chamber, for example, in a washing-up machine.
- overflow protection is useful especially at high pressure fluctuations in the pipe network and is formed in the simplest case as a float valve.
- a device for supplying active ingredient in sanitary facilities is designated 100.
- a reservoir 2 can be seen, with its bottleneck 6 protrudes into a mixing chamber 3.
- the mixing chamber 3 is sealed by a removable lid 3 '.
- a connecting piece 4 can be seen on a lowering part 12, which is provided for the connection of a connecting line to a sanitary system.
- the aforementioned parts are provided on a base plate 8 with a support 9 and lateral jaws 10; in the upper part of the base plate 8 there are two openings 11, which serve to secure the device 100 on a wall.
- a wall W urinal 60 is shown, which is provided with a supply 1 for rinsing water and a device 100 (a dosing device), with a reservoir 2 for a suitable liquid is.
- the first illustration of Figure 3 shows how the active ingredient liquid, after a cistern 50 through a stub 5 of the feed 1 is added; the second illustration has a conventional, automatic flush valve 80 instead of the cistern.
- the liquid is introduced via the cistern into the feeder 1, while the triggering of the rinsing process takes place manually via a rinsing button 90.
- Fig. 4 is drawn, in conjunction with a likewise conventional toilet bowl 70; in turn, the stubs 5 serve to introduce the liquid.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 show by way of example the universal application possibility of the subject of the invention.
- FIG. 5 shows an enlarged sectional view of the assignment of the individual elements of the device 100.
- On the overhead hopper 2 is on its bottleneck 6, screwed onto the outer thread 6 'a cap 7 with a metering.
- the cap 7 is inserted into the recessed central opening of a lid 3 '.
- a dispensing needle 13 is used, which has its own fluid passage 14 for the stored in the reservoir 2 active ingredient A.
- the per se cylindrical dispensing needle 13 has a upwardly tapering milled recess 15, which merges into a notch 16 and the air passage into the reservoir 2 is used.
- the lower outflow opening 14u opens into a cylindrical recess 17, which in turn is in a flat chamfer 18.
- the dosing of the cap 7 is held in the lid 3 'by a clamping seal 19 liquid-tight.
- the dispensing needle 13 projects with its chamfer 18 in a lowered metering 27, which is laterally connected via a passage 28 with a siphon 25.
- the siphon 25 in turn has side edges 26 and is closed by a removable lid 24 and therefore may possibly be easily cleaned.
- the siphon 25 opens on the left side in a rectilinear siphon outlet 4 ', at whose end a sealing ring (O-ring) 4 "is arranged and on which the connecting piece 4 (Fig. 2) is pushed.
- a float 21 with a sealing washer 33 and a central guide pin located in the mixing chamber 3, a float 21 with a sealing washer 33 and a central guide pin.
- the float 21 is in the normal operating state on support strips 22 and is at too high a level - for example, due to excessive pressure - pressed onto a valve seat 20 and closes a present in the cover 3 bore 23 tight.
- the bore 23 serves for the exchange of air during the dosing process; this is independent of variations in air pressure.
- Figs. 7a to 7b illustrate in an overdrawn manner the filling process in three characteristic stages:
- FIG. 7a shows how the metering chamber 27 is filled dropwise with active substance A via the liquid passage 14. Air flows through the bore 23 in the lid 3 ', see. Fig. 5, in the mixing container 3 and so long on the air flow 15 'until the dosing is filled, di until the air afterflow 15' of the active ingredient A prevents a backflow of air.- In the illustration Fig. 7a are above the notch 16th two bubbles B drawn; they represent the end of the dosage at the predetermined level N o . The dosage is thus volumetric with high reproducibility and is independent of the atmospheric pressure.
- This dosage which can be referred to as a normal case, takes place when there are longer time intervals between the individual rinsing operations, i. in practice about 10 minutes.
- the situation according to FIG. 7b arises, ie the water flowing in via the connecting line 5 and the connection nozzle 4, FIG. 4, mixes with the active ingredient A to form solution (H 2 O) s on the Level N 1 .
- the dilution of the active ingredient A can be predetermined by means known per se by adjusting the pressure of the refluxing water and thus of the level N 1 .
- the relatively large mixing chamber 3 prevents even with pressure fluctuations and overpressures in the water network an outflow of water through the bore 23, Fig. 5. However, should be opened by a faulty manipulation or by vandals a valve or the like., So the float 21 occurs as shown in FIG 5 in action and prevents flooding by this with its upper sealing washer 33, the mixing chamber 3 seals.
- the subject invention is characterized by its simplicity and reliability and is functional with a storage volume of 0.5 1 even with intensive use in public toilets for at least three months.
- the intensive mixture of water and active ingredient also allows the use of emulsions, since these are swirled upon the inflow of the water and thus emulsified again.
