Definitions
- the invention relates to an all-weather wear layer, in particular for riding arenas according to the preamble of claim 1.
- riding arenas are designed according to the following principle: Sufficient on one solid, non-slip surface such as asphalt or gravel, an intermediate layer is applied, while the actual riding arena surface, the so-called footing, is in turn on this is heaped up.
- Sawdust, sawdust, sand or mixtures are traditionally used for this made from these and synthetic materials.
- none of these combinations can fully meet the requirements mentioned above.
- Wear layers which consist of the materials sand or sawdust or sawdust, tend due to the stresses of riding to a considerable extent to abrasion. That abrasion fine microscopic particles become especially in dry and hot weather whirled up and can affect the well-being of animals and humans and - above all in connection with the whirled up, dried and dusty ones Components of horse excrement - cause damage to the respiratory tract.
- the particle dust is washed into the wear layer and closes the inner one there porous structure necessary for the transport of moisture, as a result of which moisture accumulates and dammed. As a result, puddles form and the riding arena becomes due to sludge formation overall unusable.
- the abrasion is reduced, but it falls Solution for avoiding the formation of cavities or holes behind the traditional shape the sawdust fill back.
- the horse's hoof is able to pass through the granular material pushing and kicking a kick sideways, forming piles, or holes in the To scratch the wear layer.
- the granular material from waste cable waste is very brittle, especially in the cold Properties that are particularly disadvantageous when the cut edges of the plastic have a sharp or pointed shape.
- the solution according to DE-OS 22 08 538 discloses a wear layer made of leather waste.
- leather is basically a rotting material, i.e. it is attacked by the horse's excrement.
- a wear layer made of this material is therefore maintenance- and maintenance-intensive and with corresponding costs and labor costs.
- leather is above all Wetness slippery and slippery, i.e. the horse's hoof cannot find a sufficiently secure hold that Riding arena is no longer grippy enough to be able to use it safely.
- DE 38 43 974 A1 discloses a footing for riding arenas, which consists of sand and cut material mixed in to loosen it.
- the shredded material comprises a shredded textile composite.
- the sand which has a higher mass, is deposited below and the chips used roll over the sand, with the result of reduced surefootedness and risk of injury for rider and horse. It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a riding arena surface which has all the necessary properties mentioned at the outset, in particular is weather and weather-resistant, so that a space equipped in this way can be used all year round.
- the wear layer consists of a loose fill from irregularly shaped scraps of carpet fabric waste, which in expedient thickness of essentially 10 to 30 cm applied to a substrate become.
- the surface is sufficiently grippy and rough to fill the ground to give appropriate hold.
- a further layer between the substrate and wear layer are eliminated.
- the fibers of the carpet fabric are not hygroscopic, sufficiently tear-resistant and therefore resistant to abrasion. For this reason, the moisture-wicking properties of the Preservation even with rubbing and bumping loads caused by hooves. There is also a disadvantageous dust development as with conventional sand or sawdust coverings avoided.
- the edges of the carpet chips result from a tearing or shredding process.
- the carpet chips receive the property of being in contact with one another when used continuously matted to form a mat. It arises without a deep rolling or one other additional compression process of the fill requires, solely by the continuous use and use of space a homogeneous flat surface.
- the flat shape of the carpet chips in combination with the desired inclination to If they matted, they would be difficult to move through the horse's hoof. Cooling and bumps are therefore difficult to train.
- a single carpet chip consists of the carpet fibers 3 and a connecting them Plastic layer 4. At the edge 5 of the carpet chips, the carpet fibers 3 are through a Tearing or shredding process frayed and therefore protrude from the edge 5.
- the Carpet chips 6 are polygonal in the application example and have dimensions from 1 to 10 centimeters in length or width. They lie in the loose fill lateral direction disordered to each other, but lie vertically ordered and in the generally partially overlapping with their surfaces to each other, so that in plan view (Fig. 6) gives the picture of a disordered mosaic from carpet chips. Through the the carpet chips 6 become matted as a result of continued stress on this fill with each other, this being significantly favored by the crack structure of the edges 5.
- the raw material comes from punching waste in this illustrative example, those in the manufacture of textile cladding parts in the supplier industry of Automobile production. It consists of the actual carpet pile 7, the structure of which in Fig. 1 has already been explained, and associated with this sub or base layer Foam 8, which is not used for the riding arena surface.
- the position of the individual layers 7 and 8 with respect to the vertical direction is in general fortuitously. To ensure a clean separation of the layers 7 and 8 from each other, must their respective position to the peeling nozzles 10, 11 are automatically recognized. In here illustrated embodiment, the position is detected optically. Since the Foam layer 8 is generally different in color from the carpet 7, the thickness of the backscattered intensity of a measuring beam can be used as a measure of which of the respective Layers 7 and 8 are located above or below with respect to the peeling nozzles 10 and 11.
- the corresponding upper or lower high pressure nozzle 10 or 11 put into operation and peels by a water jet the foam layer 8 from the carpet pile 7.
- the carpet pile 7 is then shredded into carpet chips 6.
